few things are as heartbreaking as finding someone you trust to take care of your skin, see that esthetician for years, and then one day, they just up and leave the biz. i experienced this in 2011 when i moved back to chicago and my esthetician was like, «…sorry.»
it took me over a year, but i finally found my person. magda.
magda and i actually ran in the same cosmetic circles for a while, but it wasn’t until my skin was in its absolute worst state last winter that i reached out in desperation. i was sure that nothing could help my skin look as fresh as it once did.
my first 90-​minute facial with magda was beyond incredible. not only does she customize each facial to the client’s skin, but i love that she tells you EXACTLY what she’s about to do to your skin before she does it, which is a huge deal to me. i hate when estheticians put a burning exfoliant on my face, only mentioning there’s a chance it could burn after i physically reacted in pain.
the even more incredible part of magda’s facials is that they are all consistent. even if you know what’s coming next, she’ll still gently remind you. she always asks if everything feels okay. she’s never pushy about product and gives samples to tide you over until your next appointment. she replies to emails ridiculously quickly and will do her best to accommodate your availability. i can also say with the utmost confidence that no one can perform a foot rub like magda. though it has nothing to do with the actual facial, it’s easily the best part of a 90-​minute facial.
after my second visit, my skin was noticeably better. after my third, i knew i found the one. and now i’ve been seeing her for seven months.
if you want a completely customized 60-​or-​90-​minute facial, and someone with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail, see magda immediately. she knows her stuff.

so, the way i prefer to get a facial is too let the aesthetician tell me what they think my skin needs. after all, they are the professional. magda was spot on with her observations about what my skin needed, what it was like and how she can help to treat, heal and give me lasting results. also she waxed my brows and did a great job!
magda uses yonka products and i loved it! they were organic but also very effective.
the facial i received included extractions which were gentle and not painful also a great mask and some wonderful massage techniques on the face and décolleté. also she did a very awesome parafin wax on my hands and feet and covered them in these delightful warm bootys and mittens!
also her space/​office/​treatment room is so beautiful. very welcoming and soothing. also in my experience, she is very affordably priced, especially for this industry and the area. and her expertise… exceeding any other aesthetician i have seen in the chicago area.
such a relaxing and technically effective experience, i will definitely be back to see magda and absolutely be adding her services to my regular wellness routine.

I have had two facials from Magda and my skin has never looked better. I was taking off for vacation and needed to get in and she was gracious enough to see me at 8:30 am. I can’t say enough good things about her.
Wished i was not moving out of state so i could continue to see her ;(
