Can’t say enough about the bagels. I come here often and they are some of the best you can find. Also, this location has good wifi and not too many electronically homeless people clogging up tables. The service earns it three stars. Don’t expect much from the workers here.

This place is totally fine, and one of the only places open on a Sunday. Service was friendly at around 11am, not sure why there are so many complaints in other reviews.

Worst Einstein I have ever been to. The company should be ashamed of this franchise. They had 6 or so employees in their outfits, but only 2 were working — 1 on register, 1 on the line. The rest were«on break» hanging out and eating. They had about 10 people in line and nobody was being greeted or even acknowledged. I stood in line waiting to purchase a bottle of water and watched the girl behind the register count $ 20s. Then she was messing around with receipts — not once looking up to say hello and tell me she would be right with me. Absolutely worst customer service ever. I ended up leaving and not purchasing anything. Don’t give this location your business. So ridiculous.

Not sure why people have been complaining about this location. I came here for the first time, and I was instantly greeted by the barista. From 3 p. m to close(5 p.m.), they offer half priced drinks. I ordered the frozen mocha in medium size, and it came to a cool $ 1.92 with tax. I wonder why they do not have a small size, but regardless, my drink came to me in a 16 oz cup and it was cool and frothy mocha goodness. At 5ish p.m., they still had a good selection of bagels. My favorite green chili bagel, which is topped with New Mexico green chilies, was available. The location has free wifi that is dependable and a good speed. It’s a good place to come during an afternoon work break for a bagel and coffee, but it’s in a busy downtown location and one has to fight the crowds of Michigan Ave to get here. Still, coffee happy hour will bring me back! And, they also wished me a good evening when I left!

Service is a huge hit or miss here. For my family of 4 picking up breakfast, it was fine. But then again, we got served by the manager who was very friendly and patient… my parents were overwhelmed by the amount of schmear flavors. But I really feel for the guy that was waiting there before us… and still waiting as we sat down with our bagels. Whoever took his order clearly did something wrong cause his order was never prepared… he eventually LOST it… and started yelling at the cashier before storming out. I love Einstein’s as a chain, but I definitely expect more from them. Can’t be crossing my fingers and hoping that I’ll get my order on any given day.

This may be the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I should have been clued in that there was trouble when the tables on the patio were still chained together at 10:00 am on a beautiful summer day. It went downhill from there. The man ahead of me received his sandwich and it was burned. When he alerted the staff to this, the man at the counter proceeded to pull the top of the sandwich off, including the cheese. Mind you, this was taking place at the counter. In addition to this, the service was incredibly slow, and there were crumbs, papers etc on the floor and tables and the garbage was overflowing. I have enjoyed Einstein before, at other locations, but I will NOT be returning

The only reason they’re still in business is their convenient location. The service is slow, usually unfriendly and puts very little effort into the product. Ordered a bagel and lox… Bagel was stale(at 8:00 am) and when I asked for a different one they simply took a bagel and through everything on, so it was super messy. They are located near my office so they’re an alright spot to grab a quick cup of coffee but won’t be returning for anything else.

I work in the same building so it’s a very convenient place to get a quick snack or coffee. I gave it a one star because they have HORRIBLE customer service. I mean HORRIBLE. Everyone there is rude; I was just there today, 15 minutes before they were closing to order a cup of iced coffee, and the lady working, had a very angry face on, did not smile or have the courtesy to even greet me, just took my order and stayed silent, while giving me a mean stare the time I was there. Seriously? Would it hurt for you to crack a GRIN on your face, do you really HATE your job that much?! Ugh! Seriously, puts me in a horrible mood… And the worst part is it’s not ONLY this one time, it’s every time I’m there. And on top of that, they have the SLOWEST service ever. I literally could go down the block and come back, and they still would be making my sandwich… It stinks to say this because they actually have really great food /drinks!

We had great service on a Sunday morning. The guy who helped us was very pleasant and even offered to bring our food to us so I could sit down and relax with my family(usually they just call out your name and you go get it, which is easy enough, but it was thoughtful of him). And they had a great selection.

Keep walking past this store. Rude staff confuses orders and treats customers poorly. Gave up after 3 – 4 tries.

If you’re staying at hotels nearby, its a cheaper alternative then eating them. Its a pretty standard place. Nothing fancy. Just bagels and schmears. Coffee isn’t as good as Dunkin Donuts so maybe go nearby to get your coffee fix.

I’ve been here about a dozen times and they’ve messed up my orders a few too many times that I don’t think I’ll be back. Which makes me a little sad, because I do love their jalapeño salsa cream cheese… but on a bagel that ISN’T toasted. Which usually ends up toasted. :(

I’m giving this Einstein’s 2 stars not because of the food but because of the service. I walk by this Einstein’s on my way from the Red Line to my office and have stopped a couple of times for breakfast. Service is sooooo slow, like 10 minutes for a toasted bagel. And one time when I got to my office, I realized they had given me the wrong order. I expect a chain to have consistent, quality food, and Einstein’s does. The service at this location needs to improve, though, as it’s not acceptable to wait 10 minutes for a simple order(and then get the wrong one!).

Nom nom! Got my Einstein Bros Bagels cherry popped! Nice location, very busy… Bagels are made fresh and service is quick… Why 3 stars? I’m all about sanitation and although everything behind the counter was clean… They need someone wiping down tables around the clock… Kind of grosses me out to sit and there be garbage and crumbs from previous customers. But again, they were busy so maybe that was it!

The lunch staff was great, but the morning rush service needs a makeover! I came here last Friday with a coupon offer for a free bagel, schmear not included(ok, I can live with that). I ordered my one cranberry bagel with honey almond cream cheese, and waited… and waited. I only started to get suspicious after I noticed people who had ordered after me were walking out the door with their food. The fact that the cashier never took my name should have raised a red flag. So I went up to her and told her I was still waiting. No, mind you, I was standing in the front area in her view the entire time, so it seemed that I could have stood there all day and she would have ignored me. Anyway, she didn’t apologize but made it sound like sometimes the system gets things turned around. I’m not buying it because she had to ask for my order again — hello, it should be on the screen, right? I hope the manager of this location reads my review, because I have a proposal: please switch the rude cashier lady with the very nice young woman behind the counter that handled my order. She quickly took care of the problem, apologized for the inconvenience, AND gave me a free cranberry muffin for the trouble. Now THAT is good customer service!
