I’d actually give this place the 3 ½ stars the formula shows. It’s pretty good for breakfast but nothing to rave about. We got right in on a Sunday morning at 11 am, yeah! The service was good but the food was just ok. I had the spinach, mushroom onion skillet and there was very, little spinach and lot’s of potatoes. I know it’s the city and prices are higher than the ‘burbs but there was 2 of us, 2 coffees and 2 entrées & it was over $ 30. The place is bright and cheery, food comes out quick, all good things for a restaurant. Plus the location is close to lot’s of the hotels.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Consistent place for every meal. Can be very busy for weekend breakfast, but meals are always prepared very quickly. Not sure how they do everything so well, but it is a hit! Country Bennie was really good. Perhaps eggs are a bit small, but combination was cooked perfectly.

Pros: Good service, meal came out very quickly, generous portions, and reasonably priced. I got the country eggs benedict and I was underwhelmed. One of my poached eggs was overcooked and the hollandaise was blah. The hash browns were unmemorable. I wouldn’t necessarily say this was a bad meal, but it was nothing special, and I have no desire to return.

Average food. But here’s the big issue. Waiter Forgot oj. Never really came back to ask for it. He then took a long time to bring check and I forgot to tell him. I paid for check at front and when hostess brought it back, I mentioned the OJ. Her response, ‘you should have told me’ My response, ‘I just did. Now go fix it’(mean? Maybe. But c’mon! Her response was the equivalent of a double middle finger) She tells manager. They talk and make faces. She comes back, pulls money out of register and says here. It’s $ 4. Oj was $ 3.99. I ask manager about tax, cuz I’m just mad now. He tells me there is no tax on juice. Attempts to show me, turns around from register and says ‘it’s 45 cents. You want it? Yep’ I don’t care about 45 cents but I do care about this treatment. I explained the issue to him. What hostess said — all of it. He could not care any less. I won’t go back. Too many other options around.

The food was weird and tasted not really good! The eggs don’t taste like real eggs! They said the orange juice was fresh but it wasn’t! I don’t recommend it!

Ordered protein omelette and I couldn’t tell if they used real eggs or what the white fluffy stuff was! :/ I don’t know how you can get eggs wrong. But it was the worst omelette I’ve ever had. I didn’t eat it and just ate the pancakes that came with it which were decent. Oh, and before all that I had to ask them to take back the«fresh» OJ which tasted bad and was anything but fresh! I would steer clear of this place as I was extremely disappointed.

This place was better than I thought given the mediocre reviews on Unilocal. It is in an excellent location for most hotels close-by(Dana Hotel in our case). I should have gone here more often. We were immediately seated on a Thursday morning. The waiter seemed to be a bit distressed but nevertheless managed to take our orders in a friendly manner and bring them out very shortly later on. The Banana Bread French Toast itself is worth 4 stars and a reason to go. I think I have never tasted such fluffy but flavor-rich french toast. It’s great to see that it comes topped with more than enough banana slices. I had a cappuccino with it and that was right on the spot. While I also had a mango smoothie with it(good but too cold), I wish I could have ordered some smaller side portion of eggs. I couldn’t find any add-ons like that on the menu unfortunately. My friends had the Nutella Pancakes(good) and Quesadilla(massive and surprisingly spicy). Overall we were surprised about the quality of the food taking the moderate Unilocal ratings into account. I highly recommend this place and you MUST order the Banana Bread French Toast!

Amazing. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs over easy. My order was perfect. It was indeed some of the best corned beef hash I’d ever had. Coffee was organic. Butter for the toast was pure and whipped. Customer service was A-1. I’ll definitely be returning.

Eggsperience is lunchy brunchy breakfasty spot(it features your normal breakfast and sandwichy lunch options) that likes to turn and burn them. They want you in and out and they want your money. I stopped in on a Sunday morning about 10am and even though there was a pretty decent wait the restaurant was doing a good job getting people fed. I cheated and took a seat at the bar. I was greated promptly and had a glass of water and my order taken within minutes. Even though I was in a full restaurant with plenty of hustle and bustle my food was out in about ten minutes. The crab cakes eggs benedict were pretty good too. I wouldn’t exactly call it gourmet, but it was a cut above your normal chain dining spot. The restaurant is also right down the block from some hotels, which makes for a nice and convenient walk. My visit did have some small drawbacks. First when you enter the restaurant there are two stands in front of you. One for placing your name and the other for paying. They weren’t well marked and people were getting confused between the two. In addition there wasn’t much space to wait so I almost had to blast my way past people. I wish the restaurant marked the stands better. At the same time it was busy and people will sometimes stand where ever they feel like it. The second issue I had was paying. Something happened with the couple in front of me and they had a fairly detailed conversation with the cashier. I get it, things happen, however as they talked a line started forming behind me. I asked a couple of times if they cashier would get a manager to come over, either to talk to the couple who had an issue or just to ring us up, but she never did. Finally after some sweet conversation and some help from those in line behind me, I convinced her to go ahead and run my credit card. Small issues aside. If you’re staying in the Near North neighborhood, Essperience will fill you full of food. If you decide to stop by please be sure and bring your appetite.

They recently changed their menu here, and the potato pancakes are gone. Suddenly, I’m far less interested in return visits to this place. The food has been decent, I guess, but I’m spending my whole meal wishing I was eating their potato pancakes, and alas, that’s coloring the experience. The wait for weekend brunch is usually about 20 – 30 minutes. They turn the tables fast here. The wait staff is pretty harried, and they’ve occasionally gotten our order wrong. There’s also no alcohol on the menu here, and for a weekend brunch, that just seems a little sad.

Good breakfast, they say is quickly even though they seems pretty slammed. I had an egg scrambler that was very good. Service was quick and I liked that they had a pitcher of ice water at the table.

Huge portions. Lots of seating so less waiting. SUPER friendly staff, at least mine was. Tasty food. Open 24 hours. Got the benedict with tomato or more veggies, but it was delicious. Got a taste of their corned beef hash it was delicious too.

I love to find a good breakfast/brunch spot, especially while traveling. This one will be short and sweet because frankly, there’s not much to discuss. Eggperience is not that great; I requested a blueberry pancake with tons of blueberries. It arrived with about 5 berries. I sent it back and was given the explanation that the cook does not like to add too many berries because the pancake may burn. To this I say, «DONOT A COOKIFYOUCANNOTCOOK!» I fixed this by ordering a plain pancake(against my will). The veggie omelet was huge, I ate it over 2 settings. It’s actually an egg white fritatta though. Service was decent, price was steep for what I received. I will not be returning for another disappointing Eggperience. Regards, Christy

Decent downtown breakfast option: large portions, fair prices, healthy options available. The acai smoothie is huge, fresh, and filling. BF got the veggie skillet with a short stack and side of fruit, and it was enough for both of us. Sit at the bar for the best service, as well as your own water pitcher. Service was really polite but seemed to be under the influence of something(glazed eyes, a little spacey).

On par with Wildberry(my standard for breakfast/brunch places), great tasting food, large portions, reasonable prices, and solid service. Chorizo burrito was delicious and not oily like chorizo can be. Caramelized apple pecan crepes were sweet, but not too sweet, with a robust flavor. Country Bennie plated well, but the hollandaise sauce is a bit bland and the red peppers couldn’t carry the flavor on their own. Protein omelet the peak of healthiness, and also the peak of fluffiness. They used only 3 egg whites but it was the largest omelet I’ve ever had with lots of air whipped in. Chicken tasted good but too much air made my stomach feel a bit uneasy(like I had to burp but couldn’t). Side of fruit was small, but still healthier than the side of hash browns. Pancakes solid. Fresh fruit juice is fresh but quite expensive.
