Favorite place for brunch and checking out hotties on their tinder dates, secretly I hope those don’t go well. Last time I went this guy was looking at me so much he either thought I was pretty or was making fun of me. Unsure how to feel about that but I know I love the Fried Chicken Benedict and Lobster Deviled Eggs.(the eggs were cold last time though which made it not as great) the staff is friendly but I don’t really trust how thin everyone is, hire some cute chubby people.

I love this place! The décor is cute and the food and drinks are delicious. I’ve come in here a few times by myself and sat at the bar. The bartenders are attentive and friendly. The bloody Mary’s are fantastic, I definitely recommend it with brunch or just because. Another one of my favorites is the buffalo shrimp. A lot of people rave about the crab deviled eggs, but I thought they were just alright. Another really good dish is the roast chicken. I told myself I’d save half for left overs, but it was so good I didn’t have anything left to take home! There’s outdoor seating available when the weather is nice, too.

Very casual atmosphere, and the vibe is cozy. They have a moderately-sized menu and it has both meat and vegetarian options. The jalapeño beer cheese and chips was presented excellently, and tasted very yummy. I had the blackened tilapia sandwich and spicy green beans: both of which were cooked incredibly well. Excellent flavor pairings. My boyfriend ordered the fish of the day, which ended up being a very puny sea bass filet. It was yummy, but so tiny for $ 16! Staff is very friendly and service is prompt.

Pretty good place to stop by for Traditional-American style food! The atmosphere is pleasant, and the menu offers an option nearly for everyone. We order the Beer Cheese and Chips, which served the beer cheese cold. I traditionally have had beer cheese hot, so this was an interesting twist. Very smokey and flavorful. For entrée, I had the Fresh Market Fish. Striped Sea-Bass with a side of my choice, which had a very fresh and succulent flavor. If I lived in Chicago, I would definetly stop by again!

I wish that I could give more stars! Phil went above and beyond our expectations. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and tentative. I was curious about their bbq sauce so he brought out all three to ensure I chose something I liked. He also labeled all three for my to go. I will definitely be back. Aside of the delicious food, it was refreshing to have such a great server.

I basically only go to Logan Square to eat at Lula Café and rightfully so because all of the other restaurants around here just fall terribly short of providing anything close to a good experience. Longman is not nearly what they’re hyped up to be, Analogue is standard, rocking horse is hold-u-over bar food and Dunlays… well Dunlays is a tad under OK. My friends and I started our meal off on the right foot. We ordered the lobster deviled eggs, thai chicken sliders and a shared a bowl of clam chowder. The lobster deviled eggs had no lobster flavor. The clam chowder was awesome and so were the chicken sliders. For our main dishes my friend ordered the burger with fries and my other girlfriend and I decided to share the fish and chips. The burger was probably the most poorly presented burger I had seen, ever. The pickles were sloppily placed with an inedible amount of raw onions thrown on top and the fries were actually paper thin. The fish were astoundingly dull, with little to no flavor at all. To top it all off my sweet potato fries were cold. I’ll definitely never come back. The service was beyond poor — both our server and busser were incredibly unwelcoming. see ya Dunlays.

This is the most family-friendly place in Logan Square. They always treat our kids like special guests, and if you go at the right time, they eat free.

Stumbled upon this place, while me and my brother had time to explore. On first glance it had an old vibe but it turned out great! We had the lobster deviled eggs which I have shot despite not being a fan of deviled eggs and it was oh so good! We also tried a few stouts which the bartender had and the fried calamari which some other patrons suggested and after looking at some of the fellow Unilocal comrades I’ll be back for more! I’ve got my eye on that Monkey Bread!!!

Solid food as long as you know you are heading to a neighborhood bar. I had a turkey burger(which are half off on Monday’s) and it was good. The sweet potato fries were cold and service was okay but we went more out of convenience than any other reason. Do not expect anything special but if you want a solid burger at a good price this seems to be a good option. It is in a great area of town but make sure if you go take advantage of the daily specials!

This review is solely for Wednesday where a cheeseburger and fries are 6 dollars. Its the only day i’ve been here so only fair to make a disclaimer. I’ve been here now twice on wednesday both times ordering the same thing, a burger with cheddar cheese with the fries. I mean you really cant beat the price of 6 dollars for a made to order burger. Buns were toasted nicely, meat patty was a little on the drier side, even at a medium. The fries were good though, thin and crunchy. Overall a decent burger for a decent price. I should probably come try this place on another day.

Seriously can’t believe I did not write a review for dunlays yet!. This place is my go to. Food always on point. I’ve probably tried everything on the menu and I’ve never been disappointed. Apps I usually go with are salmon, buffalo shrimp, chicken sliders or spinach and artichoke dip. Burgers, fish n chips and salads never disappoint! Bloody Mary’s are on point and perrrrfect for brunch! Dog friendly outside in so bring your pup in the summer! Honestly out of all the other spots in the square dunlays is the best!

The experience of eating on the square on a beautiful summer night can’t be beat. With one of the nicest outdoor patios on the square you’ll love spending time outdoors. The food, meh. We ate a late dinner and we can’t say it was anything special. And definitely not worth the $ 80 we spent.

Best. Cookie. EVER! It was amazingly decadent! I’m attempting to write this review without coming across as risqué so here goes. What a morally indefensible dessert to sell! It’s easily a full day’s worth of calories. And I felt like a debaucherous glutton as I sat there eating it. It’s unconscionable. But allow me to point out three facts… it was sweet, it was warm, and the most salient quality-it was gooey. So I murdered it. And in closing this eulogy, it’s inane to justify why I ate it. It just reminded me of Christmas morning… And I’ve tried a couple of the other entrees here. They’re nothing special. Come here with a sweet tooth and leave with your head shaking in disbelief. Own up to the skillet cookie and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

My wife took me to Dunlays on the Square for my birthday. The service from the host to the bartender(Phil[?])…to our waitress Suzie… EVERYONE was FANTASTIC… we went about 3:30pm The crowd was light, so not much noise We had the Lobster Deviled Eggs for the appetizer… delish… but quite«rich».which I found out later on that night… BUT it tasted GREAT… OK…moving right along… we had the Short Ribs of Beef… nice and tender… with Green Beans… we had Fried potatoes to accompany our meal. I forgot what they were exactly, but They were tasty, as well. FOR desert!!!/// the wife had Key Lime Pie that was delish… I had a Chocolate Chip cookie with Caramel… and Ice Cream. I’m getting hungry all over again… In short, I hope we return. I enjoyed my experience to the MAX!!!

I’ve been to Dunlays twice now. Once for a weeknight dinner and once for a midweek lunch. Based on cuisine alone, Dunlays is good but nothing unique or memorable. However, when you add in the friendly service, the outdoor seating on a beautiful summer day, and the prime Logan Square location, Dunlays becomes a fun little neighborhood joint. My dinner visit was less impressive because it was back during the colder months with no outdoor seating. I remember ordering a salmon entrée that was tasty and well prepared but forgettable. I just had a lovely lunch on the patio with my husband and their turkey burger is anything but forgettable. Great Asian inspired flavored patty that was charbroiled to perfection and deliciously moist. Excellent Asian slaw as a topper and the mayo based sauce makes this burger messy to eat but rounds out the burger nicely. My husband ordered the mac n cheese(which was delicious on its own) but after trying a few bites of my burger, just stares longingly at my plate. I got the bacon potato cakes as my side but have to say, despite the rave reviews, I found it a bit bland and boring. My husband liked them more, so maybe I’m in the minority here. The Mac n cheese is one of the better ones I’ve had. Creamy and saucy and not super oily(relative to other mac n cheeses… make no mistake, it’s still as unhealthy as any other Mac n cheese). You can choose two ingredients to mix in and my vegetable-hating husband opted for Italian sausage and bacon. The bacon was eh, and I would have preferred mushrooms or tomatoes. The sausage was genius. And excellent. The beer selection added to our enjoyment and I was happy that the Bell’s on tap was the Oberon and my husband went with the Hackershorr(I know that’s not spelled correctly but autocorrect isn’t helping me out here). We will be back to Dunlays whenever the weather is nice. Looking forward to trying their brunch… and their Wednesday burger and beer special.

This is an excellent spot for lunch during the week if you want to avoid the annoyances of the hipster clowns that have taken over my beloved Logan Square. I would’ve given 5 stars, but the afternoon server was condescending when I asked him what kind of sausage they used for a particular item. I know I have a baby face, but I’ve worked as a chef for almost a decade. Hence, if you throw some smug BS line at me I’ll probably call you on it. Also, the place is beautiful on the inside. Gorgeous wood all over the place that screams old school Chicago. Gotta love that. This has been one of my favorite spots for years because of the old-timey ambiance. Sorry for only recently getting around to review it. This Dunlays is definitely worth a visit.

Dunlay’s you are such a good place to go and grab a bite! Wifey and I usually head here for a quick lunch or brunch. I really enjoy coming here, they are very consistent with the food, the staff is friendly and we always get a seat with out waiting. The restaurant gets a good variety of clientele from young brats to big families enjoying a Sunday afternoon. It’s in a nice location in Logan Square, right in the heart of things, very hard to miss. There is plenty of street parking and I usually find a spot right away. The staff is very friendly and very attentive even on a busy day. The food is so good. Wifey always orders the vegetarian burger, it has to be her favorite burger so far. She gets it with a side of sweet potato fries, I am going to need to take a bite one day to see what she raves about… but I stick to the meat. We typically go during brunch. I have had their Dunlay omelette which is nice and hearty with delicious sausage and bacon! But usually, I almost always order their Cubano sandwich. Now I know… nothing compares to the original Miami. blah blah blah… i get it. BUT who cares! Their sandwich rocks. Its full of yummy ham, roasted pork, pickles cheese mustard. drippin with porky juices on a toasted roll. It is delicious… my other favorite part about that sandwich is that it comes with these really thing cripsy yum fries! I crave those always. The are just lovely morsels of friedy potato goodness. They have a decent beer selection, this include a nice rotating draft selection. They have plenty of bottles and cans as well. They have a full bar they;ll make what your heart desires but also have a nice small wine list in case you want to go down that route. I usually get a nice draft beer or even their bloody mary which comes with spicy meats, pickle and the best part a miller high life shorty on the side! How cool is that !!? I have to say do it! Head over to Dunlay’s enjoy a nice meal, have a good conversation.

Big Mikes Irish Breakfast is the bomb!!! + with a pint o Guinness it’s the perfect hangover food. The tomatoes were so freakin good and perfectly spiced. The bacon was cut thick and perfectly crispy. My girlfriend really liked the smoked pork hash. Nice smokey flavor and extremely filling. I’d definitely return!
