Great value for food, service, and ambiance! Tim was a great bartender, providing unobtrusive service while having good attention to detail. The wings and corn dogs were great starters, and both the Baja burger and surf and turf(with upgrade to bison and Kobe, respectively) were delicious. There are enticing specials for each night of the week, while everyday prices are reasonable. Very satisfied, money well spent!

I have finally found my chilled out winter bar in Chicago. I stopped in with a friend after walking up and down Clark briefly, trying to locate an appealing weekday destination, and we soon felt right at home with the cozy wood décor and friendly bartender. We weren’t really hungry, but were assured by a fellow patron that the wings were outstanding(they are), so we grabbed a dozen and settled in with some heavier autumn beers. I really enjoyed the feel of this place, one that made the TVs seem out of place and a fireplace required(which I was informed they do add in the colder months). Looking forward to stopping back in on another chilly evening soon. Recommended: Original wings, Edmund Fitzgerald and a good mate or two.

Dukes is one of my favorite spots in Lincoln park! Their martinis are amazing and their food is delicious! The menu alone gives this place 5 stars but on top of the great menu Dukes has an awesome staff! They are so friendly and the service is great! The location is a great spot in Lincoln park. The bar has a very intimate feel to it. Great for a date night or for a group of friends! There are a couple of lounge areas which is great for a group gathering. I highly recommend this spot!

Best burger that I’ve had in Chicago. The staff is great and the beer selection is almost perfect(I would suggest a larger Irish beer selection if I had to be picky). Ordered the Cajun burger– fantastic. Great date spot as well– the ambiance is very cool and the crowd follows suit.

I don’t even know where to start. Dukes is the greatest martini bar ever. While the martinis may be pricey, they are totally worth it. My husband and I use to live across the street and would go there almost 2 times a week. The bartender Chelsea is SO sweet and amazing. If you tell her what you like she will recommend the best drink and give you something else if you don’t love it. Their bartenders are so great and the vibe there is very chill and relaxed. Not only are the drinks awesome but they have amazing little sliders, corn dogs, and other small plates. If you want to impress a group of friends, bring them to Dukes and sit at the upstairs section for a great night!

Either I was extremely hungry or Dukes is truly a great place to eat a nice burger. I went on a Saturday evening and the place wasn’t too rowdy or loud. Great music played in the background and the ambience was very casual with a snug feel. The menu was easy to navigate through and consisted of 25+ types of burgers to choose from. You are also given the option to pick from 8 different types of burger patties ranging from stockyard Angus, American Kobe to bison etc. For the appetizer my friend and I split the macaroni and cheese, you can add bacon or jalapeños in the mix but there really wasn’t anything special to it. I decided on the BBQ burger(stockyard Angus) which was a lot bigger than I expected and chose a side of Cajun fries. Both of which did not disappoint. The burger was juicy and succulent and they did not overdo the BBQ sauce, and the fries came generously seasoned. The service was very attentive and helpful!

I struggled with Dukes. There were things I loved about it and others that turned me off a bit. I rarely do a pro con list on a review but I’m feeling compelled to do that for Duke’s… The good: — Their menu is simple, easy to navigate, and much more cohesive than others bars. I loved how straightforward it was. — The chippers appetizer was simply perfect. I’m a sucker for homemade chips and theirs are on point. — For our entrée my boyfriend and I split the Baja Burger with onion rings on a pretzel bun. It was good but not great. They also split the burger and onion rings and served them on separate platters which we appreciated. The Bad: — Duke’s has zero beer on tap. Something I could’ve gotten past if the beer was super cold when we were served, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and we both felt our beers were warmer than they should’ve been. — They also served our appetizer to us at the same time they brought out our meal. This is by far one of my biggest pet peeves. By the time we’d enjoyed our appetizer our burger was no longer hot and I didn’t enjoy it as much because of that. Duke’s has a very nice ambiance and while we enjoyed our experience there the neighborhood bar business in Chicago is a competitive one and I’m not sure I’d head back to Duke’s any time soon…

Pretty much my favorite burger place ever. The sides are amazing, and I can never choose which one I want. Recommend this place to all of my friends!

I visited Duke’s during Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals which the Hawks thankfully won. Though packed to capacity, the servers/bartenders tried their best to stay on top of food and drink orders. I had the California Portobello burger with cajun fries, which totally hit the spot. I need to bring my husband, the burger snob of the family, to test the offerings. All in all, a great neighborhood bar with ample street parking!

Only been here once so don’t want to judge too hard. Found the food to be mediocre. Will have to come back to try drinks.

Duke’s is a good neighborhood spot to grab a beer and/or burger. Their beer selection is pretty wide, and they tend to have specials during the week. The last time I went was on a Thursday, and the appetizer deal was a good value but taste-wise the burgers were better. I think the apps were just frozen ones so nothing to write home about. Had high hopes for the mac and cheese since many bars are doing the whole skillet presentation these days; but it was just a really basic app – just FYI if you’re expecting something.

Ohh honestly believe they should give more props to the wings at this place. I mean, it’s a traditional bone-in style wing with a SweetBabyRays meets a buffalo kick. Only had the burger one time. They’re pretty good sized and you can tell they’re made with love. Each one I see is always well put together and look delicious. Appetizers aren’t very diverse. But a must try are the mac’n’cheese bites. They’re not like your normal bites and they use pepperjack cheese. Drinks are ok, pretty upset they didn’t carry the normal IPA variety or serve beer on tap. I mean, isn’t that the breadwinner for bars? So idk, Corona every time: $ 5. Little steep after u drop back about 6 or 7. But whatever the foods great. Service is pretty shotty(no typo). I mean I’ve had this tall/glasses bartender, always social and very friendly. But then I’ve got the radical hipster a few times. So good luck with that! But a must try

As a fan of their sugary but strong signature martinis, Thursday is my favorite day at Duke’s — $ 6 signature martinis amongst other things. Plus Gumballhead is my friend’s favorite beer, so there’s at least one place in Chicago(that I like) I know can take him to for it: D Thursdays are also BOGO appetizer day, which is soooo key for me because I can never drink without munching on something. And at $ 5, a double order of tots/fries/waffle fries/justfriedcarbsokayy? is such a bargain! Their kitchen is open late, which sets them apart from other bars in the area on Clark St for me. Tried their wings too, but the«special sauce» appears to be half bbq+half hot sauce, and I’d highly prefer just hot sauce, honestly… It was meh but okay. The other days of the week have good deals too, but for some reason I’ve only come on Thursdays… On any day of the week though, they have a good drink/food selection and really chill décor — comfy booths to squeeze into or cushioned seats with pillows in more open areas. And really cool staff! I love everyone we’ve interacted with here. Really a 5 star experience if their bathrooms aren’t so atrocious. Like it’s a bar so I’m not surprised, but I am also very thankful my friend lives literally a block away from this place. –1 because I can’t ever hold it after consuming so much booze…

Seems to always be packed full here, even on a Wednesday night. Service is quick, burgers delicious on pretzel bread, but the grand pull are the buffalo wings! Best still in Chicago! Staff is friendly and they remember who you are. Love this neighborhood, as well.

Yet another great spot with a great burger and great staff. There are so many burgers to choose from and remember to order your burger on a pretzel bun and with fried green beans!

I say their burgers are right up there with Kuma’s and it’s not as slammed with customers as Kuma’s. Nice vibe. Our waiter was adorable and funny. My hubs had chicken wings and many bottles of beer and and I had the veggie burger and a few martinis last time we were here. Everything was excellent. We will keep coming for drinks, food or both. Great spot in LP!

I have been to Dukes probably close to 10 times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. When you walk in you’ll find a long establishment with a handful of booths, 2 giant communal lounge-type areas, and a well stocked bar! I recently went there on New Years Day for dinner with friends after shivering through one of the last nights of Zoo Lights. I had promised that the burgers were delicious and my friends trusted my judgement. We found an open booth and the waitress came over immediately and was very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a special that day on Great Lakes Brewing Company beer so we swiftly ordered a round. If Great Lakes Brewing Company isn’t your cup of tea the list has plenty of other great options! As for the burgers, I typically always go with the bacon cheddar burger whose official name on the menu escapes me. If you’re not into a bacon cheddar burger, don’t despair! There are about 30 different burgers on the menu each with an option of about 8 different kinds of patties(Angus beef, Kobe beef, turkey, chicken, portobello, veggie, bison, ostrich). Each time I’ve gone to Dukes I have changed the type of patty I get and the type of side. Today I went with a bison patty and a side Caesar Salad. Our burgers came out quickly and didn’t disappoint. The bun was good. The patty was succulent and delicious. And the salad was pretty poor… But the burger was delicious! As for my salad choice, I wanted to keep the meal a little lighter but tater tots or waffle fries would have been way better! My verdict: 4 Stars! The beer list is great while the burger options are even better. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and I’d go with a Dukes burger over DMK, Rockit, or Kumas anyday… Is the burger as life changing as Au Chavel’s? Maybe not… but boy is it good.

Stopped in here with some friends around 7:30 on a Saturday night, and I was not disappointed. My friends go here pretty regularly(to the point where the some of the staff know them). We were just having drinks, but I couldn’t help but notice how great the hot wings at the table next to us smelled. They have a decent beer selection, but they have no draught beer(strange for a bar). My wife had a pear cider that she really enjoyed. I had a Little Sumpin’ from Lagunitas and then the table split an Arrogant Bastard from Stone. The atmosphere is nice with some strange décor(Elvis bust) with wooden walls. The ceiling is super ornate and interesting. The music they played was definitely enjoyable as well. I am pretty sure it was just an employees iPod. I had a great time, and I look forward to going back to try some food.

Came here on a cold Friday night with the boyfriend and loved the interior of the restaurant. It’s very cozy on the inside, great casual date spot. Their menu consists mostly of burgers; I ordered the Baja and the boyfriend ordered the Garbage. Mine was delicious, I really enjoyed the combination of avocado, bacon, and monterey jack and it was pretty massive. I was incredibly full after half my burger. The huge mound of tator tots that accompanied my meal were also great. Unfortunately, my boyfriend’s burger probably had half of the ingredients listed on the menu. His appeal to this particular item was its supposed gargantuan size, and this was not reality. Additionally, we had ordered a salad to share and it was brought at the same time as our meals which was a little odd. Maybe it was because there weren’t a lot of patrons, or just the layout of the restaurant, but our waitress was difficult to flag down for drinks or anything we needed. Overall, Duke’s was good, but I don’t know that I’ll be running back for dinner. They do have a great beer list and I would definitely stop by for a drink.
