So I ordered a pizza for delivery and it literally took an hour for the WRONG pizza to be delivered I ordered a 16″ cheese and I got a 14″ deep dish with sausage BUT I’m a vegetarian so that was gross now they are bringing me the correct pizza but its already been about 45 mins so I have been waiting for about 2 hours for my pizza. Our work place is less than half a mile away, so it shouldn’t take that long either way. I don’t know what it tastes like but really disappointed with the service.

Wow. I love me some pizza and even by the slice. I was pleasantly surprised that it was as good as it was. The slices are nice and worth it, but the day I went there it was raining. Still not a bad thing, since they do have places to sit inside. The dough on this pizza is nicely done. The sauce is not so thick and that is a good thing. I love me some light sauce on any kind of pizza! Pizzas are made fresh and while you wait. If you want ingredients all you have to do is ask. At times that is a bad thing because they have a tendency to pile them on high. But of course, some of us like this. Be prepared to order and just enjoy this most delicious kind of treat. May not be Chicago style, but trust when I say, you will not be disappointed.

This pizza is decent. I would say it’s the best in this area which will keep me going back.

So, I LOVE pizza, but I rarely eat it(I’m kind of a health nut). But, when I do eat it, I’m always craving NY style over Chicago deep dish. Living in Chicago, it’s hard to find decent, let alone amazing, NY style pizza. Dough boys is the closest I have found to NY style pizza that is worth the 3 or 4 bucks they charge per slice. Not bad, Dough Boys…

so glad this place is in walking-distance from my office. try the thin crust! it is tasty, crispy, and the crust is chewy. they sell them by the slice, so they’re great for lunch. dough boys also has outdoor seating for when the weather is warm. the people there are quite friendly. I’ll be back to try the tasty-looking sandwiches.

Tried Dough Boys today. The thin crust was fantanstic, the service good, and the freshly grated parm was a huge plus. I’ll be back for more. Plus if you drive to pick up your pizza, they’ll valet your car for free.

came here twice now… once was a random quick eat and another time we actually ordered a whole pizza and waited. Small place, love that it has an outdoor patio area… NOBOOZE here, not sure if u can BYOB or not… the ready to go pizza can vary, sometimes they have vegetarian stuff sometimes I’m sure they dont, it was pretty decent… when we got a pizza made to order, that was actually really really good, fresh ingredients, good sauce and overall fantastic! it took about 15 – 20 minutes to serve it but it was worth the wait not the cheapest place but definitely worth checking out at least once. Glad that the university village area finally has a pizza place that’s something to write home about. just wish they had later hours!

Let me start out by saying that you must be careful about what size pizza you order. I spaced out when ordering and ended up with a three footer. Yes, that’s right three whole feet of delicious pizza. Get out the fat pants. We ordered a half sausage/half pepperoni pizza with onions on the whole. I definitely preferred the sausage side more. Overall a pretty good choice if you’re in the area.

I got a pizza at Doughboy’s on Taylor Saturday night around 10pm, and went to sleep at 12am. At 5am on Sunday, I ended up violently vomiting(think tears in the eyes kind of power) and was debilitatingly sick all of Sunday(think unable to stand up straight without puking, and unable to drink much at all, let alone eat anything), and still pretty sick on Monday(think barely able to walk anywhere without figuring out where the nearest bathroom was and if I could get there in 1 min or less). My bf had 1 square of pizza and had moderate sickness and I had had 4 – 6 squares, so its not just me. I also didn’t eat anything for the rest of that night, or for hours before then, so I know it was the pizza. The crust was fully cooked and so was the meat(it was a 14″ sausage thin crust), so the meat must have been really rotten(even though it didn’t smell funny) but I really suspect that somebody didn’t wash their damned hands. I called the restaurant when I was finally able to do so without vomiting(Sunday night) and let the manager know. She told me I would get a full refund and would keep me updated on any developments(like if more people got sick etc). She called again today, Monday, and said we were the only ones and apologized again. I really appreciate her professionalism and sincerity but for this to happen at all is very disturbing. Additionally, I’ve had food refunded just for having a small problem with it(like if it was pretty burnt etc), but I figure that if I almost had to go to the emergency room because I had what is akin to amoebic dysentery then, if I was in charge, I’d probably give the poor sick fool a gift card or something. Not that I would go back and eat there again after this nightmare. Anyway, because this was a local joint and I’ve had a slice before, specifically the type I ordered when I got sick, I know it wasn’t me being allergic to something and I was even more disappointed at getting so sick. I hope this helps.

The sandwiches here are very good. They are so large you can have them for two meals. The pizza was tasty. I wish I lived closer or they delivered to my house because then I can see myself having them more often.

Somehow I acquired a delivery menu from Dough Boys so last weekend we decided to try it out while watching football. We got a standard sausage, green pepper and onion thin crust to base our opinions of this place on. It was quick delivery to the West Loop, under the hour that they estimated which is always nice. The thin crust is not paper thin how most places thin crusts are. Which is okay with me if it’s at least soft. This crust was crispy on the bottom(not burnt at all) and then kind of chewy the rest of the way up. The edge pieces(my fave) were chewier than the center pieces. The toppings were generous and everything tasted really fresh, just a matter of preference on the type of crust you like. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from ordering from here, I just have other places I like better.

I finally made it to Dough Boy! I have been wanting to go here for a long time and I was excited and not let down. I had a piece of their Sicilian with green pepper and mushrooms, a thin slice of the zucchini and mushroom with a 16 oz. OLDSTYLE. The staff was very friendly and they even offered to cut up the pizza and feed it to me since I have no thumbs. How nice is that? I give this place two thumbs … o damn that’s right. For the two slices and beer it was only $ 12. Next time I am going to try one of their sandwiches and talk with a CHIKAGO accent. «Hey der Diane are dose Polish Sawsages ready?» XOXO!

Tee Hee(imagine this sound coming from the Pillsbury Dough boy)! Finally a pizza that will deliver to me later in the evening that isn’t Taylor Made. A girl likes to have options. I often order Lou Malnati’s but sometimes I just don’t want Lou’s or its price point. Sometimes I just want some greasy thin crust, delivered to me at 11pm. Dough Boys can do that. The pizza is indeed a bit greasy, and I was briefly outraged by the $ 2 cost of a 20oz pop, but they get the job done, and I’ll just remember to stock my house with beverages in the future instead of giving into desperation. I’d order it again.

Best pizza in the Taylor Street neighborhood. Consistently good pizza & fast delivery. They also sell by the slice & and make catering-sized party pizzas, but I haven’t tried them. I wouldn’t travel to eat at Doughboys, but if you are looking for pizza delivery or want a casual, inexpensive slice when going to something at UIC or the Medical District, this is the place to go. It is better than Taylor Made or any of the other options. They have a nice patio on Racine as well.

I had a slice of cheese pizza. It was very good. The crust was great on it’s own. Crispy on the outside, soft inside. Sauce was fresh, flavorful, not too spicy or greasy and just enough. They must have fixed the review about them not having enough sauce on the pizza. Nice worker behind the counter.

Had a 14″ thin crust sausage Nothing special, was a little too salty for my taste. No reason to go back unless I am walking by.

I stopped in for a slice yesterday. I really enjoyed it. I got the stuffed pizza with chicken on top. Pizza is a very individual thing… each person has their own preference as to what is good and what is not. So I mean, try it out. If its not your cup of tea, then ah well. But its at least worth a try. I hope this place makes it. I feel like its so difficult of restaurants to stay open in Little Italy.
Food was ok. They make thin crust with very little sauce and the crust ends were slightly burnt. The bacon topping was more soft than crispy. The meatball sub was good but the filling was completely mushed up and you couldn’t distinguish anything that resembled the shape of a meatball. I really liked the nostalgic-looking seating area. The area could use some pizzeria joints. Hopefully this place can drive Papa Johns out, but I don’t ever see that happening anytime soon.

There are few occasions when 9 inches isn’t big enough, and nothing less then 36 will do. And that is the story of how 2 of Dough Boys 3-foot long metro pizzas became the centerpiece of this year’s Superbowl gorge. They each were neatly packaged and geniusly sliced in grabbable portions that maximized sampling and minimized spillage. Each featured quadrants of different toppings(the meatball with giardiniera quartile was arguably the most enjoyable). Every inch was meticulous and evenly cooked. Dough Boys went out of their way to accommodate my order by delivering out of their usual zone and showing up dangerously prompt. If you’re looking at pure flavor, you’ll find better thin crust in Chicago. But you won’t find a more delightful, easy and reasonable pizza option to feed either 16 – 20 people or a schizophrenic with 16 – 20 personalities.
