I got the price tag bait and switch here too. Forget this place. I was doing a set of prints for a customer with a pretty involved procurement process. They needed a quote for the printing job, and approval before they can move ahead on anything. It’s a good customer of mine, so I had almost no mark up in the job. Well I got the price quote from D’ore over the phone, submitted it to my customer and it was approved. When I go to pick up the pictures, D’ore is charging me almost double the quote on the phone. Now I’m locked into my quote to my customer(because I don’t scam people) and loosing money on the deal. Instead of providing some nice prints as a courtesy, it’s become a charity job. Worst part is, I got the splotches on a few of the prints also. So I just paid double for poorly produced prints.

This place S-U-C-K sucks. I had taken my film there a few times to develop. Super cheap, but not even worth it. Always scratches. Last time I took in some medium format film and a couple rolls of 35 mm and when they gave it back to me, they had just shoved it in some cardboard box. Unbelievable… No sleeves no nothing, not even for the 35 mm stuff. No protection at all. I ask them to sleeve it(of course they don’t have medium format sleeves) and I see them man-handling my film trying to cut it with some pair of table scissors over this woman’s desk. Had to yell at them to stop. I always thought Central Camera was too expensive, but man, they just don’t give a shit about film here. Save your precious photos and DON’T go here. Unless you want your film to have that old-timey scratched look.

I only get film developed and scanned, so I don’t know about the prints. Staff is extremely helpful, and turn around is pretty quick(drop off on Friday, pick up on Monday). I like having a neighborhood shop close by.

They refused to honor the prices for the black and white developing as advertised on their website. I had called earlier, having found them on the web and confirmed the prices. I took the film there and then when went to pick them up the price was double. The guy simply didn’t care about the difference in price he was advertising. To me – That is dishonest and not good business practice.

Its so nice having a photo lab near by. Going all the way down to grand was a real pain. The turn around time was similar to other places. I had around 10 rolls of film; b&w, C-41 and E-6. I believe I got them back in 3 – 5 days, but I told them there was no rush. they only cross process e-6 to c-41. not the other way around. the prices are on the low end for film processing. I never get prints or contact sheets so I’m not sure for that stuff. It’s a good size lab with very friendly service.

Excellent place to get your film developed/get prints. You can get most C-41 film(color print film) done within 24 hours. Their work is inexpensive but much more professional than a 1 hour photo lab. Whenever I’ve had a problem with them it was never anything that major and they always corrected it. I wish they were open on weekends/later on weekdays, but other than that I have no complaints about this place.
