This is not the first time one tried to open a shop serving Cantonese dessert. Where did the last one go? Nowhere to be found. The three of us visited on a Saturday at 3pm. It was quiet and there was only one other table. Two of us ordered the mango pomelo sago while the third person had a bowl of durian and almond milk. The mango pomelo sago was nothing like I have had before.(FYI That is not a compliment.) The usual ingredients are mango, grapefruit, taro sago, milk, and sugar. With everything added into a bowl, it is supposed to have an orange color. But this place served it in a pale, milky form with a randomly-added scoop of vanilla ice cream. Our eyes were bulging in disbelief and in the end, they had the nerves to ask me what I thought of it. My blunt response, «This is a very abnormal mango pomelo sago and it tastes more like milk than anything.» The dessert may appear simple to make, but it really isn’t. Please do some research and homework on how to properly prepare them. Also, please put the mango in a bag of rice for it to ripen. I do not take pleasure in paying $ 5 per item for below average dessert.
