He is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience. I was starting to get a lazy-ish eye since my last visit to a different optometrist. He took a look at my eyes as a standard examination and found that the prescription in each of my eyes was too strong(or it worked fine alone but to get both eyes to work together, it had to be slightly lower… also we’re trying to keep bifocals at bay). He lowered the prescription and I was all set. Further, I told him my previous doctor had sent me to a specialist due to higher pressure in one eye.(is that glaucoma??? i don’t remember). Anyway, the best thing about this, is that I didn’t have to go through the hassle of going to another specialist. He had all the equipment there and basically told me my eye was fine but we should keep an eye on it.

An excellent optometrist who takes the time to give you a good exam and explain things. I did not order my frames and lenses through them but he graciously checked them for me after I got them and gave me specific instructions on what needed fixing, and then checked them again afterwards. I never felt any pressure to order glasses from him. His office staff is very friendly, the hours are extremely flexible, and there’s a parking lot and ample street parking nearby. My husband also went to Dr. DeClark who detected an issue that needs an opthamologist’s attention and did not have any hesitation in saying he would not handle it as it needed a specialist’s attention. We were referred to Dr. DrClark by our neighbor, who had seen him for many years until she also needed a specialist. We’re very happy with our experience.

Dr. DeClark is a tremendous Optometrist and a great guy! After noticing deteriorating vision in my left eye, and not being able to get a good correction at an «optic supercenter», I concluded it must be something serious, so I decided to pony up and visit an Ophthalmologist(a medical doctor) with the expectation that he would be better able to diagnose and treat my condition. When the Ophthalmologist could not give me a proper visual correction either, he just shrugged his shoulders and gave up. He sent me to Dr. DeClark with a prescription only to be fitted for glasses since the Ophthalmologist did not do this. Dr. DeClark immediately sensed that something was not right and re-examined me, then left the room to call the ophthalmologist. When he returned he told me that I had a corneal defect(keratoconus) that NOONEELSEHADMANAGEDTODETECT, not even the M.D. He fitted me for special contact lenses that gave me a proper correction. Through the years, when a new lens design would come out, he always notified me and patiently went through the sometime painstaking process of fitting new lenses to make things more comfortable. My family and I have been devoted patients of Dr. DeClark’s for over 20 years and, as a fellow professional, I recommend him without reservation!
