The place is usually clean, the workers cheerful enough, and the food hot and delicious(and the Blizzards yummy!). Helps that it’s a good, viable fast food option in the downtown area. I’m glad this is a «grill & chill» with a vast enough hot food selection, and not one of the smaller DQs that only sale hot dogs in addition to the ice cream related stuff. They need to go back to having discounted Blizard offers on their receipts though…

Ordered here late last night. Its your basic dairy queen. I walked in about 10 minutes till close which yes i did feel awful about. And they cashier made sure i knew it. He gave me a cold stare said not one word to me while i ordered. The man who handed me my order was polite and very nice.

I stopped in the other day for a quick lunch after getting a craving for a burger. I had the $ 5 cheeseburger with fries and a drink. It comes with a sundae but I paid the $ 1 upcharge for an oreo blizzard. First off I asked for a hamburger but they gave me a cheeseburger. Whatever… I was annoyed but it wasn’t worth complaining so I ate. I’d never been to DQ for actual food so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The burger was good but it definitely tasted like it was only $ 5. I tasted the cheese more than anything. It wasn’t bad but I wasn’t impressed. The fries were piping hot though and pretty good. I usually love oreo blizzards but this time I didn’t like it. There was something off… can’t explain it. Wasn’t worth the extra $ 1. In retrospect I would’ve gone with the sundae. I went during the lunch rush and had no problems. The service was fast despite the large crowds. Love the outdoor patio too! Probably won’t rush to stop back in anytime soon though.

Today, July 10, 2015 @ 1pm, the vanilla ice cream was like«water and cream» — not«ice» cream. The vanilla ice cream was very watery and tasted like actual cream for coffee. Either Dairy Queen cheapened up their formula or some one completely messed up the ice cream batch. I had the vanilla ice cream in a cone and dipped in chocolate. The ice cream was running out like a river through a small crack in the chocolate. Very disappointed!

I have never received worse service from a fast food establishment. They got my order wrong three times, the cashier proceeded to turn to her coworker while her back was turned to me and told her coworker it was my fault, the food I got was cold and by the time I finally left with the correct order my ice cream was melted. I came in and paid about 20 dollars for my order and will never return again. The service was incredibly poor and the manager seemed to be doing nothing about it. I worked in fast food for two years and am understanding when people make a mistake but this was just ridiculous.

You can’t go wrong with a blizzard ice cream after a tough day at the office. My favorite is pumpkin. The chili hot dogs and onion rings are very good. Service is quick and friendly. I come here mainly for ice cream.

There’s not too much to say about this place. It is pretty similar to most dairy queens. The chase heir was ver nice and polite. I gave the rating one star though because their blizzard, what thy are known for, was melty. Since it’s their specialization, I thought the blizzard would come out better.

They’ve never gotten my order wrong, the staff is always friendly and courteous, and the store is clean. But I had to knock a star off because they’ve yet to serve a Blizzard to me upside-down. You guys need to step up your game. Blizzard is printed upside-down on the cups for a reason!

If you’re looking for a quick sweet-tooth fix, DQ Grill & Chill is calling your name. I went with a group of friends looking for something sweet, fast, and cheap, and DQ did not disappoint. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered two blizzards, a sundae, a milkshake, and a dipped cone, and were on our way out of the restaurant after no more than five minutes. Don’t be shy– give it a try!

Every time I see Dairy Queen it remained me of my childhood. Getting a blizzard with my family and having a good time. Know that I am more grown up I have notice that the food have been there for a while and I have not given it a try. That way I will like to give you top five blizzard, and food variety Dairy Queen has. When I went and ask in three different Dairy Queen what was there five top blizzard this is what they respond. M&M which each bite bursts with seemingly millions of M&M chunks. Sinkers which is crunchy and creamy with frozen Snickers bar mated in a junk food with a cup of vanilla soft-serve. Banana Cream Pie which has Graham Cracker Crust and real banana in it Strawberry Cheesecake with real strawberries and pieces of cheesecake. Chocolate Xtreme with dark chocolate chunks, brownie pieces, and dark cocoa fudge. For every season of the year Dairy Queen always finds a way to bring something up like a blizzard or a shake to remember the feeling of that time of the year. The good thing of Dairy Queen is that you know that the blizzard is good when you put the blizzard upside down, that how everyone know it is well done. Personally the one that I like the most, and always order is Strawberry Cheesecake it has a real taste on it and make me feel fresh. I personally will never thought, that the food in Dairy Queen will be good, but WOW it is good. Chicken strip are one of my favorite, the crunchiness and softness at the same time is just perfect with the sauce. Crispy chicken wrap that is made of crispy chicken strip topped with crispy lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese and creamy ranch dressing all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Chili Cheese Dog just like the name said it contain chili and cheese. Bacon Cheeseburger contains bacon and the special sauce that it make it different and special. Salad Chicken that contain creamy, Marzetti Buttermilk Ranch dressing and topped with your choice of warm crispy or grilled chicken, chopped tomatoes, crispy bacon crumbles, shredded cheddar cheese, red cabbage and shredded carrots. All of this food have always been served in good condition, and well done. The best part is that is fast, and delicious. With all of this you can see that Dairy Queen has many variety of blizzard and food and this is just few of them. I try to give it my time and change of thought over the year but it has always been well done. The blizzard have always have the same test in a way, that is always well made, not like other that take a long time to make and taste artificial. With the food I will say that is also been one of my favorite experience eating and having my mind blown away with the good flavor it has.

I only go to this Dairy Queen because it’s near our house and it satisfies our blizzard cravings. You would think it would be cleaner and updated but it’s not. All the seats in the booths are covered in duct tape. Some of the workers are nice but some just have attitudes. Once while ordering my ice cream the cashier spent the whole time digging in her ear. Then after I paid she started scratching her head for a good whole. Pretty gross. The blizzards are never consistent, sometimes the mixins are not mixed. It literally is vanilla ice cream with toppings. The worst was when I got a blizzard and it was soupy. If I had turned it upside down how they do at other dairy queens I would’ve made a mess on their counter. The only reason we keep coming back is cause my kiddo loves the blizzards and this place is open during the winter and accepts credit cards.

This is your average Dairy Queen! It includes the orange julius and the opening times, for this area, are really nice as they’re usually open until 10pm. I got a Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard and it wasn’t very well blended unfortunately. They didn’t hand the treat over upside down in the regular DQ fashion. There was only one person making ice cream treats, even though there were 6 people waiting. Overall, it was a decent experience but I have definitely been to better DQ’s. This location pales in comparison to the one located by Oz Park.

Burger and fries were served cold — ironic I guess, but at least the burger still tasted good, cold fries however are never good. After falling in love with cheese curds from all my poutine eating in Canada, I thought I’d try the deep fried cheese curds listed under this DQ’s local menu. These at least were yummy and warm pockets of cheesy goodness. After a long day of doing tours, I couldn’t be bothered kicking up a fuss — I just ate and left. Judging by other reviews, this could be hit and miss, or the best DQ you’ve ever had.

It made me happy to find cherry dipped cones nearby cuz it’s a nice treat after work sometimes but it’s amatuer hour around here and I’d really rather go to the one in Lincoln park than deal with this foolery. You see. A long time ago, I use to work at a Dairy Queen for a summer. In fact that’s when I never wanted to eat a blizzard ever again if I told you the details. Ignorance is bliss my friends. So I know how it works back there! You practice making pretty cones, blizzards and dipped cones. Lots of soft serve went to waste but in the end, I knew how to make you a proper blizzard. Long story short, there’s this girl that works here it seems weekday evenings that can’t make a dipped cone for shit. It makes me wonder if she does a shitty job on purpose because she hates her life or is she blind folded while doing this. Cuz trust me, making a dipped cone isn’t that hard. It’s one of the first things you learn and practice on without serving a customer your sad cones. You just do it over and over again until you’re bordering on awesome. On Sunday it’s a guy that made me one and he was competent thank you Jesus. Weekday nights, no. I mean why bother really? Quit your job already. Let me go back there and do it for you. I insist. The most recent visit I asked a manager if I can have it redone. He instructed her how to do it and another person took over the dipping instead. It was an improvement but every fucking time besides Sunday they don’t know how to dip the soft serve and the cone is all messy and smeared with the dip. As in I have to hold it with a couple napkins it’s so messy. Pretty darn annoying and unacceptable. Obviously they don’t give a shit. Go scrub a toilet already. I might try again one weekday evening and hopefully it’s not this particular girl and if it is and I get another shitty dipped cone that’s hardly dipped and all fucked up on the cone part, I’ll ask for the district manager’s contact info because this is unacceptable. Everytime with this chick, I ask for it to be redone and it comes back looking the same but messier on the napkin and cone part. Stupid and lazy, I hate that shit. The picture I took was of a good cone made from a guy on a Sunday.

I came here today for lunch with a classmate and it was ok just have to remember to order my burgers without mustard and pickles since I am particular as to having pickles on my food. You don’t see many Dairy Queens in Chicago unless they’re in certain areas, but this is the only one that’s situated downtown near the Auditorium Theater and the Roosevelt University campus at Congress Parkway and Wabash. This place is usually frequented by those who stay in the hostel next door or tourists who are checking out the area around South Loop. It’s pretty decent just need to keep the tables a little cleaner and to the last poster who put up a photo of the water all over the floor should put up pics like that more often to let management know this not acceptable and should be across the board for many restaurants to know this is a slip hazard and can result in someone getting seriously hurt. The burgers I ordered were ok just doesnt taste good with mustard. If you like the classic food from Dairy Queen it’s worth checking out.

Finished a 3 mile group walk in the South Loop on what has been the warmest day so far this year.(Yay for warm days!) Had a hankering for a frozen yogurt or ice cream. Walked past one Baskin Robbins/DD figuring I’d run across another one before the L stop. Ran across DQ first. Score! Had my fave, the Butterfinger blizzard. Really hit the spot. Place was clean, staff friendly enough. Not any less friendly than most of the DD folks I run across. No complaints.

I came here a lot when I went to school at Columbia. While I haven’t been here in here in a while, I always had good experiences and good food while here. Maybe that’s changed based on the more recent reviews. It was always a good place to go to bc it was never overly crowded.

A year later and what a CHANGE! The staff is so rude and unhelpful. They were blasting the music and no one was working. There was a huge puddle of ice and water on the floor, however no one even tried to mop it up. They didnt care at all. They just put up the caution signs. What a joke. I love DQ but the staff here basically will make me go somewhere else for my blizzard like fix. There is about a million other ice cream places in the city where the staff isnt rude, ghetto, and slow.

I’ve always lived in a town that has multiple Dairy Queens but never a DQ with food. I wanted a quick bite before I attended a show down the road, so I finally got my chance! I love that they have a $ 5 hamburger combo that will get you a mini frosty, a drink, a burger and some fries. It was perfect for a «I don’t want my stomach growling during a three hour play» lunch. The burgers are super tasty! Reminded me a bit of a Culvers burger. I’m not that into fries, but their fries were pretty good too, although nothing special. Make sure to snag a table first then order. There’s very little seating options and when we were there, people were just sitting there on their tablets/laptops and hogging the free spots. The banana cream pie blizzard is my ultimate fave, although most of their blizzards are amaaaazing.

This is clean and new. I like a clean ice cream shop(something about a place that isn’t sticky and messy is appealing). It is a DQ Grill and Chill, so you can order your ice cream treats or something off the grill. While in Chicago, we stopped here twice. It was in walking distance from the hotel and a good reason to get out of the hotel. They make blizzards, banana splits and sundaes really well. You can’t go wrong here. They are very efficient and you don’t have to wait long to get your sugary reward. The first night, 80s hair and modern day metal was piped through the speakers, but it may have just been something to mask the sound of the road construction and L above. This is open even with the road construction on Wabash. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Come for the ice cream and good people watching, too.
