First, let me say that Susie is the best we’ve ever had at wrangling our very large and unwieldy family with grace and artistry. Add to that the pictures came out beautifully and I fully recommend her based on talent.
However, I specifically asked up-​front for a quote including a DVD of the images of the portrait session. I didn’t think to clarify that I wanted the high-​res versions of the images because what is the point of a DVD if you’re not using it to print them yourself?
So, the low rating comes from learning after the window to take pictures of my newborn as a newborn had passed that to get just some of the images in high-​res, I would need to pay a third of the initially quoted price more.
A business model that relies on money made from professional printing is fine but with selling the rights to reprint is becoming standard in photo packages, it felt shady that she wasn’t up-​front about which model she used.

My experience using Susan as our engagement photographer was great. She picked the perfect location, had poses in mind, and gave good direction. The hour flew by and was very fun and relaxed. Just got the pictures back and love them! I would highly recommend using Susan if you are looking for a comfortable experience and great pictures.
