Very friendly staff, open late, has seating, and they carry Mighty Leaf tea; what else can I say.

Chicken and egg question: Is the woman who makes the coffee here sullen every day because they put her off on an island away from the others? Or was she put on coffee island BECAUSE she’s so sullen? I’ve neither had chicken nor eggs here; so I can’t answer that question; I’ve only had a latte or three and an occasional yogurt parfait to get me through a ride on the train deep into the suburbs. The space isn’t ideal – feels ever more cramped and narrow, the more people are inside. In any case, you’d better get an extra shot of espresso in your latte to kick-start your day, because there will be no smiles as rays of sunshine.

The moron at the front intentionally didn’t put cream cheese on because we asked him to speak up. He was the nasty little shit with a nasty goatee. He should be fired. Shitty bagel too.

2.5−3 stars I was here while waiting for my train to arrive at Union Station. The staff was very friendly and asked if I needed help since I’ve never been here before. I ordered half a club panini with a small Mac and cheese. The panini was pretty good but the Mac and Cheese was disgusting. I was expecting something like Panera’s but this didn’t even come close. Super super watery and bland, and the tomatoes in there didn’t really help. I’m sure their Mac isn’t usually like this or else no one would eat it. Willing to give it another shot though!

Great for a quick meal before getting on the train. I grabbed a half chicken pomodori panini with mac & cheese. The sandwich was so delicious. It was perfectly toasted and the bread was really buttery… it just melted in my mouth. The flavor was also really good. The mac & cheese was«eh»… could have used more cheese I guess. It also came with a bag of chips for a total price of $ 8.49. Not bad! The girls on the register were very sweet, the service was fast(under 5 minutes) and the space was clean.

I was surprised and impressed at how quickly the lunchtime line moved; but that turned to disappointment. After finally finding a place to sit in the cramped dining area and watching the people who ordered after me get served first, I realized what happened, they lost my order. I gave up my seat and elbowed my way back to the cashier to reinstate my food. When I finally got my plate… it was the wrong order! No excuse; I won’t be back.

Nice for a quick bite to eat. I’d avoid this one during peak times, unless of course you don’t want to sit down.

I like Corner Bakery but did not enjoy my experience here at all. First, I was confused as to where to order. I saw a glass display with sandwiches and eventually saw the cashier where I placed my order. When I got my order, I was not given a spoon for my soup. In my opinion, that’s just bad customer service. It was clear that I had a soup so a spoon should have been given. In addition, I didn’t see any silverware out unless I missed it. The tables right outside the café were full so I had to go into the large hall area to eat my sandwich. I returned to CB to get a spoon and almost got charged again for the soup. I told the man at the counter that I already paid for it and he goes, «Good enough» and hands me a spoon. The soup, roasted tomato basil(which I really like) tasted awful perhaps due to the delay in eating it. The consistency was too thick, the color was off and I did not get any croutons on top of it. Needless to say, I struggled to finish it. Next time, I will just visit another eatery but I wanted something healthyish so maybe I’ll give them another try.

I haven’t dined at a Corner Bakery in awhile because it’s been hit or miss in the past. I decided to give it a try today to carry out my lunch. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and I can safely say that if I’d dined in rather than carrying out, I would have returned that sandwich for a remake. My issue with the sandwich: — The rye bread was so overloaded with rye seeds that it made chewing a challenge because the seeds are so hard. — The worst part of it: the scant TWO thin slices of corned beef on the sandwich! I was astonished at how little meat was on that sandwich. To make it worse, the slices of corned beef weren’t even big enough to cover a slice of bread so a good third of the sandwich had NOMEATONIT. As well, the cheese covered only half the bread and the kraut was dumped as a lump on the center of the bread. I cannot believe CB thinks this is worth $ 3 much less the $ 7+ I paid for it.

Has great bagels! I only ate half of one for breakfast and was surprised that the next day the other half was still soft. Wait time seemed slower than it should for the line and it was a bit crowded and confusing trying to pick up your food when it was ready. So they can definitely improve on their process but the food(at least bagels) need no improvement!

My cousin and I came here for breakfast before catching our train to head south and talk about the most dysfunctional bakery I have ever been to. No one seemed to know what they were doing, and they didn’t talk to each other at all. So you have a bunch of confused patrons and confused employees standing around — with no one getting their food quickly. We were in a hurry to catch our train and this definitely slowed us down. The food was just ok and pretty pricey for just a bagel and a coffee. Next time I would go to the Jamba Juice right outside it.

My mom and I stopped by here on our way to catch our train for Kalamazoo, MI. We ordered sandwiches and got the combo deal which was nice and my mom got her coffee fix. The sandwiches were hearty and the bread was awesome. People watching was excellent too — I saw my first group of Amish or maybe Mennonites in 11 years — they always make me smile. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is they forgot to give my mom her dessert she paid for when I picked up our order.
