very disappointed with the owner of this place!! she is a thief she wants to charge you to promote you’re studio and instead steals your money because she doesn’t promote anything or gives you you’re # for the open studio or puts your information in the brochures like she assumes she will .on top of that she gives you a price$$$ for a whole package then when you finally go to pick half of your brochures and number she changes the price that was Given to you before to a higher amount and askes you for more money! and never Gets nothing done the way she tells u it will be done How rude #shameonher#thief#Lier#bullshitter

Don’t pay this lady any money for the Pilsen open studios she’s a thief!!! I’ve heard so many bad stories about this place and so call art gallery. I rather go donate money to prospectus or casa aztlan instead of letting this thief Monserrat take my money. Be aware!

Our band got to perform in this gallery. Very nice and friendly. The space itself is small but It was by far one of my favorite shows that we have played. If they ever host an event and offer us a slot, I would come back in heartbeat.

This is a wonderful small gallery. Montserrat and Roberto do beautiful work. If I lived anywhere near here I’d check out the place at least weekly just to absorb and enjoy what they’re doing. It’s accessible from downtown by the Blue Line el and a walk west along 18th Street, past the commercial district and into a more residential area. Just past a strange old bar, on the other side of the street, with model airplane kits in the window and Polish newspapers on offer.

This is the art studio of Montserrat Alsina and Roberto Ferreyra, Venezeulan and Mexican respectively, both painters, performance artists and activists. Between Harrison Park and a tortilla factory, Montserrat’s great vision of the world sticks to a radical tradition. Ferreyra, himself in more than one traditional Mexican band, also leads an Azteca dance troupe, training younger Mexican-Americans in the dances, spirituality and customs of the ancestors. The couple also graciously hosts lots of great events, including a lot of concerts, political fundraisers, and documentary showings. If you live near Colibri and like any kind of art, drop on by! I do all the time!
