Chicago Style Golf

Let me start by saying I know nothing about golf. I have never golfed a day in my life (unless mini golf counts). That being said, I’m going golfing with friends on an upcoming vacation. I purchased a 3 pack of lessons with the hope of not making a complete fool of myself on vacation.
Walked in the shop not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised with my instructor Chris. He was very patient and super informative. After class he had some free time and spent 20 – 30 minutes in the store showing me different clubs and explaining what each is used for. He definitely went well above and beyond and for that I commend him. Their is nothing like great customer service. He knew I wasn’t presently looking to buy a set of clubs, yet he still took the time to show me the difference between them.
I still have so much more to learn, but I definitely let there way more knowledgeable. I’m looking forward to my next lesson and will definitely be a returning customer. Thanks and keep up the great work!

I brought in my putter to get a custom paint fill and initials stamped on the back. The owner told me it would be ready in a week. After a month, I finally got my putter back and the results are below.
I’ve never hounded a business before, but after a couple weeks I knew these guys didn’t know what they were doing. Now I have a $ 350 Scotty Cameron with a typo on the heel.

I started out coming here for lessons with Tim and continue to come because of the great service and uniqueness of the shop. I’ve purchased a new set of clubs here, had others re-​gripped and their service is top notch. Definitely recommend you check it out.

Great local golf shop. Got my wife a stand bag and a starter set for 169.00. They gave me a nice deal super friendly and didn’t try to rip me off. They offer lessons and have a hitting bay as well. Great alternative to corporate golfsmith and dicks. I ll be back and will support this local business.

Came here with my husband last week. He is a casual golfer and was looking for a new (to him) set of irons. We were so impressed by the service here! First, they analyzed his swing with a golf-​club-​computer thing. Next, the guy found him a set of pre-​owned irons that matched his swing characteristics. The price was very reasonable — definitely no upsale or club-​snobbery. These guys really just want to match you with the right equipment. He ended up getting a driver as well, and — even more impressively — had it replaced for free when there was an issue within the first week.
Why would you go anywhere else when you can shop at this high-​quality, straight-​shooting, local business?

These guys certainly know their stuff. I wish I found out about this place a lot sooner than I did. I was skeptical about taking lessons off a hitting mat at first, but they have so many more tools at their disposal vs taking a lesson on the driving range. You get a lot more swings in too. I’m a shorter than average player and they were able to show me how my clubs should be tailored to match my swing and body type. That was the first time that a coach didn’t try to change my swing to fit my clubs. I would recommend them to anyone.

Always have a great experience here. I’m a used club junkie and they have a big selection of used clubs that still have some miles left on them. The guys are super nice too. I had my irons regripped here recently and the grips are awesome. Very reasonably priced. This is my new go-​to golf store.

These guys are great, really helpful and courteous. A great place to pick up equipment for extremely reasonable prices (even for the city) and great practice facility. Fortunate to live close by!!!

I stopped into the store this week to check out Irons and I had an awesome experience. Went into the store to check the place out and ask about the trade in value of my current clubs and ended up doing a club fitting with Tony.
I’ve only taken up golf in the last year or so and don’t really know that much about what kind of club would be right for my swing style and price range. tony was awesome to deal with. He was not pushy at all and totally appreciated that I was looking more for a good value than the most expensive set of irons that wouldn’t do anything to help my game. It was great to deal with someone that didn’t seem to be selling me something I didn’t need, especially when I wasn’t in a position to know any better.
I ended up trading in a few old clubs and picking up some used ones to replace them, and overall I feel like I got a great deal. I will definitely go back to deal with Tony and Chicago Style Golf when I need anything else golf related. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff, and most of importantly, the advice was honest and I never felt like they were trying to sell me more than I needed.

I take my 9 year-​old son here for golf lessons and Doug is a terrific instructor! The staff is courteous, insanely helpful and has an abundance of golf and golf product knowledge. They have one of the largest selection of irons, iron sets, clubs, drivers (and especially putters) that I’ve seen in Chicago.

I got a club fitting from Tony, who was very helpful throughout and spent a couple hours on it. They helped me pick out which set of irons would be best for my game, and then they ordered the clubs from Mizuno.
Here’s why they get five stars: Mizuno screwed up the custom clubs, and when the delivery of the correct clubs was delayed and I had a charity golf outing on a Monday, Tony personally delivered my new clubs to my home on a Sunday night and came in to talk to me about the new clubs and the adjustments he made to two of my existing clubs that I’d given to Chicago Style Golf to get tweaked.
Overall, it was great. I’d highly recommend Chicago Style Golf to anyone in the area. A million times better than Golfsmith and their indifferent staff.
Also, they’re totally reasonable on price and have good used club options, if that’s your thing.

I won a set of clubs via eBay. I went in to pick them up and they had sold them. Clearly, whatever extra amount they were given was worth more than their word. Wasted my time and didn’t care. I recommend this store to people who like stores run by people without ethics.

There is nothing makes a helpful review if I tell you, after took three lessons from Ken, I improve my game by 10 strokes. How was that?

Wow, wow, wow! My wife and I were looking to «buy a game» with a few new-​to-​us clubs. Ken and his colleague could not have taken better care of us. No pressure, just great advice. Ended up testing a few drivers and 3 woods in the back and, thanks to having a sense of launch angles, power and spin, walked out with winners. Couldn’t pass the putters and wedges without an upgrade, as well. And all at a very fair price.
We city dwellers will never go to Golfsmith again.

These guys are great. Friendly and knowledgeable. I had older set of clubs that needed to have the grips replaced. When the ones I selected from the catalog were no longer available, these guys searched and got them for me… Greatly appreciated.

This place was great when it first opened but with all the recent improvements you’re only hurting yourself if you keep going to the big box stores. From new to used, they have clubs for all types of golfers and will make sure you find that one that sets you apart from the rest. Great hitting range in the back with real turf and sales people that actually know what they’re talking about. I love my new set of clubs and will definitely return when it’s time to re-​grip and maybe even personalize with custom stamps.

Great unique place run by a knowledgable, personable and friendly owner. Definitely prefer coming here over going to the big box golf retailers with poor customer service and unknowledgable staff. Definitely a place you can just hang out, talk golf, get a beer and hit some balls with no sales pressure. It’s a place for people who love golf.

Great place to learn about clubs and your swing. I came here to get some club repair and Ken (owner) was extremely helpful. I now go here for all my Golf needs and participate in the golf clinic offered. Can’t beat the price. Very knowledgeable, pressure free environment and the best customer experience a Golf fan could ask for.

I couldn’t have had a more positive experience at Chicago Golf Style. After no help from Golfsmith, I headed here and got everything I was looking for. Very knowledgeable staff that will only sell you what you need. I dont have much playing experience and they put together a great set of clubs for me without any upsell. Will use this place for all my golf needs going forward.

Great local store that has more selection and better prices than their big box competitors.
