Chicago Park District – Athletic Field Park

I have been taking my kids to this park for 7 years. We attended Mom, Pop & Tots with Miss Jasmine and loved it. They have movies in the park in the summertime, along with a fantastic Fall Festival in October.

Really a gem in nook of the city. We’ve here for 10 years, & have seen this park evoke into the gem it is today! Newer playground; new sprinkler playground; fabulous day camp summer program with outstanding & mature/​cordial camp counselors; new tennis court that almost nobody in the neighborhood utilizes; bargain pottery & throwing wheel & classes; limited entries (as with most of CPD parks). The cul-​de-​sac makes for an easy pick-​up & drop space. I am just sorry we no longer in the neighborhood; as convenience should be that park’s middle name.

At this CPD location, there is a ceramics studio. I am taking a pottery (wheel) class. It’s only $ 150 for 10 weeks, with all supplies and materials included! Each class is around 4 hours long, so it’s a great deal.
The instructor, Andy, is fantastic! He does an excellent job of demonstrating and helping. I started out not even being able to do anything but spin a blob of clay on the wheel… to now being able to make a cereal-​eating-​out-​of bowl!
It’s fun and relaxing, an all around great time. Everyone is so friendly. I am very impressed with the class and the program. I like it a lot!

Great playground

Okay I got to play here last night for Softball and must say this is an awesome park!!! Though it is not that big, it really makes up for it with a great safe environment to have fun in. Any team looking to have a game or practice I would strongly recommend to check this place out, you will be happy you did!!!

This park district offers a casting class on Thursday for only $ 105 for 10 class period. Great deal and very nice instructor!
