Just picked up a pair of premium denim that I asked the alterations lady to shorten last week. The jeans are a skinny stretch style and she clearly did not understand the concept of keeping the ankle slim. She stretched the denim when sewing it and I ended up with a wider ankle. After yelling at me for 20 minutes that they weren’t that skinny to begin with, I finally just told her I needed to leave an paid the high priced alteration fee for a poorly executed job. I’ll never take anything here again and now need to take them to my usual place on Division to have it corrected.

Brought some dress shoes here because they were a bit scuffed up in the toe area from hitting raised sidewalks. The lady was a bit skeptical that polishing wasn’t going to do much but make them shine, but I was convinced some polish in the raw scuffs/​scrapes would help. Reluctantly she said ok. Picked them up and I think the lady was even surprised by how much it helped — scuffs are hardly noticeable now. Obviously, she wasn’t going to be able to unscrape the leather but the polish certainly helped cover it up. Great job and very pleasant as well. 6 dollars well spent

Been coming here for 3, years to get my clothes cleaned and refitted. They do a damn good job of both and at a very reasonable price. Having ‘lost a shirt’ that supposedly was damaged at another cleaners down the street, I happily take the longer work down the street where my clothes are always returned and cleaned well. What more can you ask?

I wasn’t sure if my fav pair of CK pumps (they’re called «Gayles» and every woman should have a pair) just needed a shoe doctor visit or if it was time to buy another pair (which are hard to find in black leather). However, they were able to recap the bottom of the heels and polish up the toes, which were worn in. Well, 3 days and $ 12.50 later my CK pumps are good enough to wear until I find my next pair. So, I’m happy.
