Walked in to buy something special to take with me to Europe. Of course the chocolates and candy are terribly overpriced, but the alcohol prices are rather competitive. I found Tito’s vodka and picked it up because it’s 100% American and I have yet to see it in Europe. It was about $ 20 for 1L if I remember correctly. When it came time to get in my plane, an employee was there with my purchase and I showed them my stub and picked up my vodka.

One star — not because there was anything wrong with the store itself, or even the employees. it was an attractive store layout, and the employees were courteous and helpful. One star because if you think you’ll save money by shopping duty free, think again. Just go to Costco, get your permitted items, and bring them on board. Example? — Three of us headed up to Canada for the week. We brought liquor as gifts in trade for the lodging that was graciously offered to us. In advance, I went to Costco and bought Knob Creek($ 8 less than this place), The Talisker 10 year($ 47 dollars less than this place), and the MacAllan 12($ 12 dollars less). Sure, that might be worth it to you, rather than just pack the bottles in your checked luggage. And, by all means, if you don’t care to save money — visit them. But if you’re going to the duty free store because you thought it was the great deal that it was«way back when» — it’s not.

This is for the Duty Free shop right across gate K5 at O’Hare. Went in to look around for make up products while waiting for my flight to depart. A few nice ladies approached me to ask if I needed any help. 5 minutes later, while I was trying on a mascara that was clearly put out as a demo; an extremely rude Indian employee(Vijay Patel) comes by and says ‘you know you can’t try everything you want on, that’s not for demo’. I asked him if he is sure, as he walked away pretending he is not hearing anything I say after his rude comment. I then asked if he has a problem with me because as a 30 year old woman, I have been to a cosmetics/duty free store probably a million times in my life and have enough IQ and respect to tell what product is displayed for demo or what is not. A rude, ‘clueless about cosmetic products’ guy should not be working there. Otherwise nice shop(huh.)
