Cerato Boutique

i love this beautiful shop. the wallpaper when you walk in is stunning. the selection of clothing and accessories are to die for. i have 2 cocktail dresses from cerato that i’ve had for a year that i know i will never see on anyone else and continue to reap in the compliments whenever i wear them. a shop owner of another southport store saw my bag once after i had purchased one of these gorgeous dresses and she said, «ooh, please let me see what you bought from cerato!» Another shop owner said to me, «cerato is pricey» when we were discussing the benefits of having unique items that no one else has (i was pursuing her vintage clutch selection). i completely disagree that this shop is «pricey.» What cerato has are unique items that are mostly hand-​crafted by local designers. i’ve paid just as much at Nordstrom and Anthropologie if not more for factory produced merchandise. It feels good to support local designers who value the way that garments are crafted! Go into Cerato. you will not regret looking around and if you try on something, let me warn you, you will probably take it home! oh, they also just started carrying a local men’s designer! LOVE!

Every time I have a girl friend (note, not girlfriend) who needs a fabuolous outfit, dress, accessory, take her over to Cerato to work with Megan who always sets them up with a gorgeous ensemble. My best friend, Michelle was visiting from Kentucky over the summer and loved the store and all the Chicago designers and bought some jewelry and a bag. She can’t wait to go again in October. There are other shops in Chicago trying to do the «Chicago designers» thing, but Cerato definitely does it best.

I think Anna Fong might be my favorite new designer! I discovered her at this this stylish boutique. ALL the designers featured here are Chicago-​only designers, which is a terrific celebration of our cities artistic talent! I highly recoomend Fashion Design students check out this boutique and speak to the owners about getting your stuff here. I’d love to see an even bigger representation of what our innovative city has to offer.

I stumbled into Cerato as I saw that it just opened and wanted to check it out to see if it had a good gift for a friend’s birthday. Well I bought gifts… they just happened to be for me! The boutique carries lines that come from Chicago designers — which is absolutely wonderful as we need to keep our fantastic Chicago talent in our city! I scored three amazing dresses by Kate Boggiano, Horacio Nieto, and Ali Ro. The space is absolutely gorgeous and the two women who were working that day couldn’t have been kinder nor more helpful. I definitely plan on making Cerato a regular stop when I’m in need of clothing that makes a Chicago fashion statement!
