One of the most legit Spanish produce markets in the Humboldt area. This little corner store is very well maintained and operated. You can find all Goya products under the sun here as well as sweet plantains and tropical guava fruits. Real Humboldt heads know wassup. Lol oh and good luck parking here, it’s a total hassle — but honestly so much fun. I look forward to the automotive tetris game every time. Hahah

I do live in walking distance of this store and love it. Good meat counter, all sorts of rare Caribbean goods, and a very decent and well-priced produce selection. Come on in. Some other staple items like milk and Wonder bread can be fairly pricey. Come here for meat, produce, and Caribbean items. They do have a small parking lot in front. It can get packed, but you can park along Division or Grand as well. In terms of the packed nature of the store… to me, that’s part of the beauty of visiting a well-loved, community tienda/tianguis in the Latino community. Wide and quiet aisles with muzak in the background just wouldn’t make it a Hispanic store. If you’re looking for that, move to Wheaton :-D :-D :-D

This store carries many hard to find products for the Caribbean community. I’ve been coming to this store for many years when we want to make some Puerto Rican specialties such as Pernil, Verdura(boiled roots), and pasteles. They carry a ton of Goya products that stores like Jewel don’t carry. It can get pretty packed as its not very big and the meat counter gets a little cray at times. Overall, this store carries those hard to find products which keeps me coming back.

Central Park Produce(CPP) is a small grocery at the intersection of Grand/Division/Central Park. Parking is limited, so use the huge parking lot at CVS if you’re considering a visit, which you really shouldn’t unless you live so close you can walk there. I was hoping to finally find that small produce store in my new neighborhood that can fill the holes of big box groceries with over watered soggy cilantro and pale kale. Nope, Central Park Produce, no can do! CPP relies on stocking barely anything green– I only noticed one leaf lettuce– iceberg. Forget about Kale and Chard, and even the Mexican green herb Epazote was nowhere to be found! Okay, so their onions and sweet potatoes were magnificent, but their ginger(grown in Mexico) looked small, wiry, and shiny. Obviously not a Mexican staple! CPP has a thriving meat counter with pork, chicken, red meat; most of which is labeled in Spanish. It’s a small store, kind of hard to get around, and kind of a mad house. I will never go again now that I’ve found Cermak Produce just down the road.
