Caramel Ultra Sports Lounge

location closed!!! now it’s benchwarmers sports bar & grill

Sometime in the past year, Roc Bar on North Ave. magically morphed into this creation known as Caramel Ultra Sports Lounge.
Upon setting foot in this joint, all I could think was «Caramel» sounded a lot like «Carmella» on the Sopranos. Because I felt like I had set foot onto the real live set of Growing Up Gotti.
Ninety percent of the guys in the place had the traditional Growing Up Gotti hair: spikes that look like they’ve been blown back by standing in front of a jet engine. The look is of course completed with a half open button down shirt, faux tan and chains. I was also a big fan of the fact that I heard several of the guys refer to their dates as their «broads» which the girls just ate up.

The service was exceptional, though it may have been due to the fact that we weren’t douches and we were tipping pretty well.
Most of the people were gorgeous, though I think many of the girls in there may have been scouting for prom dates.
Loved the interior, but I felt it was much more ultra lounge-​y, nothing too sporty. Not enough TVs, in my opinion, to constitute a sports lounge of any sort. Just because they show PPV and big games/​fights, a sports bar it does not make. Joe on Weed would laugh hysterically in the face of this lounge for incorporating the word «sports» in it’s name.
I would be inclined to go back, but only when dressed to the nines and ready to dance!
