Borderline is a fairly«modern» vinyl store. It is small but it is very organized inside. It carries a wide range of new records(think Adele, Arctic Monkeys, etc) for a small shop of its caliber. The décor unique; there are many signed posters like Ke$sha, Sam Smith, and Lady Gaga to name a few. This is a neat spin and definitely adds character to a record store. The owner also enjoys Madonna memorabilia. There are dollar bins that you can search through. There are also used vinyls as well as CDs and a small selection of cassettes. The prices are what you should expect for new vinyl. It costs anywhere from $ 20 and up. I don’t mind paying extra because I like supporting small businesses. I was pleasantly surprised by the Lana Del Rey record that I found because it is an exclusive and I did not even know it existed! Borderline is a great place to go if you love vinyl and love supporting small businesses.

The store is run by some really nice guys, but if you’re into buying used vinyl you’ll be disappointed. Prices are all over the place but mostly way too high for the condition. Selection is poor and they seem to get a very slow trickle of new items. In general they have a lot of dollar bin items masquerading as real store stock. I bought inner paper and outer plastic sleeves here and they were paper thin and poor quality. I’d love to have an awesome used record store in my neighborhood but unfortunately this is not it.

It’s so uncommon for people to buy hard copies when it comes to music anymore. Borderline makes you want to do so though. They have a great selection and import from outside the U.S. I love all of the promo posters they have for sale! It’s definitely a first choice of mine whenever it comes to buying an album!

Holy shit. How did I not stumble upon this Madonna Mecca before? I love Madonna, like, old school Madonna — although it looks like she might redeem herself with Rebel Heart(Living for Love & Ghosttown, yeah!!!). And here is where I can get my fix of b-side, demo, remix, tour, studio tour recordings… you get it. Oh, and the prices are less than half of what you’ll pay elsewhere. There’s also hard to find Madonna posters and memorabilia, and they do carry other artists if Madonna isn’t enough for you. By the way, the owner is f’ing awesome. I can totally go Madonna bonkers with him and on top of that he’s cool enough to keep a record of all my purchases so when I send the man in to get me presents he’ll know what I already have. He’ll even pull up sample tracks for me to listen to if I’m unsure about a CD. So cool. Seriously, the mothership has called me home.

I stumbled upon this store, and absolutely loved it. What a find. Very unique with some classic albums. The Madonna selection is incredible. Got to watch some classic Madonna music videos while I was there chatting it up with the super nice owner, Scott, who put on whatever Madonna music video I wanted to see. Also picked up a Madonna greatest hits CD(Classic 80’s, doesn’t get any better). Make the journey and stop in, you won’t be disappointed. Nothing like this store anywhere.

MADONNA! MADONNA! MADONNA! This guy REALLY loves Madonna, but then who doesn’t? You don’t?! You are dead to me. Anyway. TONS of aforementioned Madonna fan stuff — music, picture discs, phone covers, magazines, posters, imports, used panties(KIDDING. Jeez.). And hello, the name of the store? We love Madge! Nice selection of music — I didn’t dig into the CDs. Yet. All genres. The vinyl selection is small but outstanding! I found a RARELP to replace one I’d stupidly gotten rid of in the Misguided Clutter Purge of 1998. Sweetbottom, a local Milwaukee jazz-fusion band that I loved. Yeah, it’s sorta 80’s whale-soundy kinda shit, but I was really into jazz then, in my pre music major days. Also snapped up a Pretenders album for $ 3. Score! My dishy music-obsessed companion picked up a few 120 gram vinyl albums too, ‘cos he’s got 20,000 albums already, WHYNOTGETMORE?! Right? Right! It’s a real pleasure to browse around in a well-stocked music store. And this one is clearly put together with some thought. Go check it out, and support a local business! Oh, and they also have lube for sale! And chocolate! So, you can get an entire evening’s worth of entertainment in ONEPLACE!

Extremely impressed with this store. To be honest, I always thought the previous Lakeview store was a disappointment due to a very limited vinyl selection and odd vibe. This new location is a huge improvement. Excellent(and growing, the employee said) vinyl selection complementing their previous expertise in Madonna-centric CDs and other gear. Fair prices too. A must-visit for any music nut in or near Andersonville and a fantastic addition to the Clark strip.

A nice new addition to the Andersonville stretch of Clark. Borderline is a fun little record shop boasting a variety of popular artists. If the store name didn’t give it away, Madonna is a main focus of the store(along with most other iconic pop divas). They have a small selection of records which grows each week and a fairly large CD selection. I’m excited to see this shop grow and keeping providing Andersonville with fresh vinyl.
