Go. Just do it. You can thank me later. This place is seriously awesome. The tuna poke taco is fantastic. As is phils fries. It’s BYOB, it’s cheap, it’s delicious, and it’s fast. Why haven’t you left yet? Stop reading this and go.

Really great variety and a surprisingly large menu. Lots of cuisine fusion going on between Middle Eastern, Latin American, Korean, and American cuisines, and it’s interesting to say the least! Needless to say I’m always pleasantly surprised. The staff is also super welcoming. The reason I knocked down a star is because wait times for the kitchen tend to be on the longer side. It’s understandable considering the variety of the menu, but if I had to give them a critique, that would be it!

Great menu although a bit pricey. I get tacos Everytime I go and am never disappointed. The place is a bit cramped, you eat next to the cashier, kitchen and people waiting in line but the food is worth it. Don’t order off grub hub, by the time the tacos get to your house they are very soggy.

Great fish tacos. Great value. Great other burgers and fries and tacos and yummy counter service stuff. Just adding to what others said here. They also area well-oild machine, keeping tables clean and turned over fast. the ahi tuna taco is so great and I could eat a pile of those!

Yup. Really good. Worth the wait for a selection of tacos and poboys. Kind of nuevo Orleans if you know what I mean. Known for their fried fish but we managed to get a great meal with their other offering. We had the kids Pork taco, raw ahi tuna taco on a hard shell, smoked salmon and fried egg breakfast sandwich, and hamburger. All very good. Portions are a bid small but good quality. Will try some of the fried selections next time.

Whenever I’m nearby for a show at all the various venues in this area, I try to stop here first. Expect counter-service and diner platters, but don’t let that turn you away. First thing that greets you when you get here is that wonderful truffle fries smell. Ahhh, so good! I’ve had a handful of tacos here too, & none of them disappoint. The line can get long, & it takes a while for the food to come out, but it’s so worth it.

Big and littles is becoming one of my fave hot spots in Chicago. I’ve been here about five times now and the food is always consistent and tasty. I love getting the ahi tuna tacos(the tacos are small but they pack them with quality sushi grade tuna and spicy sauce), truffle fries and the Zeus burger whenever I go. I had to give minus a star because their taco menus are on the pricey side(about$ 4 for the ahi tuna taco!) For some, it’s not a lot of food for what you get. Your wait time for food may be long depending on how busy it is.(One day I waited about 40 minutes for my food dining in) but the food is worth the wait. Ordering food is easy. They take your order at the counter and I believe you can pay cash or credit here. From there, they call your order by name when ready. If your appetite is on the larger side, I’d recommend getting something off their sandwich or burger menu and ordering some tacos and fries as your sides. I Haven’t tried their soft shell sandwiches but would return to try that on another day. Seating is limited so if it’s packed you may have to take your food to go. Parking is on the street along Belmont avenue and its metered.

I’ve only been to Big & Little’s once but I know I will be coming back for more in the future for a burger or some fish and chips. Some of my friends and I decided to stop by since it was along the Brown line. It was a rainy, dreadful day but stepping inside Big & Little’s changed all of that. The inside of the restaurant is kind of small so I probably wouldn’t bring a party of 15+ into this place. I remembered seeing a lot of pictures of the Softshell Crab Po Boy on Unilocal so that’s what I got. NORAGRATS. Biting into this sandwich was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made. The special sauce(whatever it consists of) was well put together. Kudos to yall. It did get kind of weird mid-meal when I realized I was biting into a crab that came from the ocean but that didn’t stop me from finishing the entire sandwich. The tacos looked really good even though they’re kind of small and pricey(?). My friends each ordered the ahi tuna taco but the size of the taco shell was SOSMALL! It looked like it was suppose to be for a baby. That kind of surprised me…(but then again, that’s just me). They really liked their tacos though so that was good!

What a great assortment of tacos! — sumurai, banh mi, big & little’s, mahi, shrimp — these seafood tacos rock(refreshing and semi-healthy) and are only $ 3 each. Which is much cheaper than one piece of uni and I know, that’s not really an apple to apple comparison but that’s how I look at it. In fact, you can have your mahi grilled or fried. I chose to have mine fried because I like that taco crunch. The poke tacos are more expensive($ 5) but the ahi tuna is a generous serving while the blue crab is just ok for me. As for the meat tacos, the Al Pastor pork belly is so soft while the carnitas, spicy beef short rib and Mexician beef short rib tacos are all very yummy with plenty of veggies. The food is good but I notice that Big and Little don’t work here and that’s part of the attraction at the main location, you get to see the founders at work and that makes the experience more special. Aside from that, this is one unique menu, especially if you like asian cuisine, Mexican food, sushi and have been to Hawaii — you can knock out 5 birds with one stone here.

Big & Little’s has a lot of local hype surrounding it. Literally, just look how many reviews there are here. I had the ahi tuna taco, the zeus taco, and the al pastor. The ahi tuna taco is a lot of tuna so it’s not for the casual seafoodie, the gyro taco is bomb, and the al pastor is nothing special. There’s almost always a line to get served and it takes about 10 minutes to get your food once you do order. Expect to spend around $ 10/pp.

Ordered the soft shell crab po’ boy and the raw Ahi tuna taco. The Ahi was nice and cold. Kind of spicy and sweet. It was a small fried taco shell and it was filled with the tuna and some black sesame on top. It was small for $ 4.99 but still a generous portion of the Ahi tuna. The po’ boy presentation was really nice but it was mostly bread. They fried a whole blue soft shell crab but it was kind of small. The whole crab is edible. The crab to bread ratio was off. Overall, decent meal. A little on the pricey side. Would come back to try other things. It is wheelchair accessible but they put the trash can right by the entrance way. We pushed it out of the way to make more space but it was a tight squeeze for my wheelchair. The bathroom is nice and big and very accessible. Very close to the Vic Theatre. Within walking distance.

I was here(finally) after a late night at Headquarters, upon realizing that we were so close. I had been trying to come here for quite a while, but I am also lazy and find it difficult to get off my couch with any kind of frequency. Unfortunately, I just wasn’t that impressed. I had the fish & chips, which was a lot of batter and very little fish, as well as incredibly oily. The fries were mediocre. I had a couple bites of everything else we ordered, but honestly? I wouldn’t make the trek back here.

I’ve visited twice, and both times it was okay. However, my guy discovered the pork belly po boy and fell in love. Perhaps I haven’t found the right thing for me yet. During my first visit, I had two different tacos(Al Pastor and Hawaiian I believe). This last time I tried a BBQ bacon burger. I was disappointed. I asked for medium well and it was all pink from the first bite. It was thrown together(busy weekend night) and was quite a mess when I finally opened it up when we got home. So, I just need to try different menu items. They have some nice shaded outdoor seating, in addition to the indoor options in their colorful restaurant. Staff have always been pleasant and the wait time isn’t anything unbearable. Try it out if you like pork belly(but eat it onsite to avoid it drying out).

If I could have one meal before I die it would be from here. This place is the best and there is really not much more to it. Honestly this is my favorite place in Chicago. Nothing else needs to be said. Go here!

I’m honestly really not a fan of BIG& little’s. I’ve gone twice — once with a line out the door and once with no line. Even with no line we waited more than 20 minutes just to get our food — which seems slow for burgers and fries. I’ve had both tacos and a burger here — both tasty but regrettably greasy. Truffle fries are good, but there is little difference between the truffle and the regular that I can taste. My friend ordered a pork belly Po Boy… It came out over friend and was one of the most awful sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. It also took them a good 30 minutes to fix the soda machine so that the soda wasn’t flat. Plus, I the place is never very clean — likely a product of how busy they are, but still… you eat there.

Great little restaurant/fast food joint. Has 3 locations but I usually goto the 1 on Belmont. The food is good and there’s a lot of choices. If you like fish, there are many options to choose from. You can get tacos, burritos, burgers and po boys. I usually get po boys and tacos. They even serve breakfast now a days. So far I love the soft shell crab po boy. The pork belly po boy is good also but can be a lot of you are watching what you eat lol.

While walking down Belmont, the Pooh Bear in me decided he needed a little smackerel of something. I decided on the Spicy Thai Fish Taco, and not very long afterward, it was delivered to me, at the counter with the wonderful, wide-open window facing the street, by a dude with a big smile. The fish was delicious, fried cleanly with little greasy residue, though the«spicy» sauce really wouldn’t be considered spicy by anyone who lived any closer to the equator than Chicago. Still tasty, though, and the lettuce, tomato, sesame seeds and lime juice rounded out what turned out to be the perfect snack to give me the physical sustenance to reach the Red Line station, and the mental sustenance to actually get on the train and ride it.

Big & Little’s is right by the Belmont stop and has a very humble façade. We stepped in as a suggestion from a friend, because let’s be honest, Unilocal reviews don’t actually mean shit. tldr: this place deserves it’s stellar reviews though. The breakfast menu is simple and cheap. They did forget my hashbrown, but the sandwich was perfect. The eggs was cooked but runny. The bacon was crispy, but not burnt. The bun was soft, and most importantly, everything was well put together. I hate it when sandwiches look nice, but the moment you dig in, they fall apart. It takes 5 minutes to order and then another 5 – 10 min to get your food. It’s pretty fast casual, but the ingredients are awesome. I also give them bonus points for having good condiments. The ketchup/mustard bottle were clean which is better than you can say about a lot of place, and the hot sauce is one of my favorite brands. I love tabasco just as much as the next guy, but there are so many kinds out there that are tastier, that I irrationally judge some places for their choice in hotsauce. Anyway, the lunch menu is just as good. You can’t really go wrong with fried foods, but everything here is crispy and the oil doesn’t soak through. Drop by to cure your hangover or if you just feel like something dirty and filling. Good prices make this place a true gem.

There is this magical little thing called the Belmont bus that will take me straight from my place to BIG& little’s. I don’t have a huge monster appetite so when I order one of their fish tacos, it totally fills me up. And I find it very delicious with a huge, crispy, fried Tilapia strip, with a lot of their shredded cabbage, special sauce and lime juice. You’ll find their special sauce on many items and that slathering of sauce is chili aioli. I can’t handle much spice and it tested my limits but man, was it good! I’ve also has their egg burger which was good though nothing mind blowing. A pretty standard burger that convinced me I should stick to their tacos. Truffle fries! I ain’t mad at ya, truffle fries. You smell better than you taste but I ain’t mad at yah. Prices aren’t terrible and the food is all good! You really can’t go wrong ordering anything here but their fish really sticks out as being amazing. +BYOB

Poboy sandwiches!!! This is a must go to restaurant when in Chicago! This is a little corner restaurant that is very busy, has a great presence and easy to get to. The inside of the restaurant is very nice, clean and the music is very cool and fits the restaurant well! The menus are up on the wall in chalk and your name is announced on the loud speaker when ready. Now, what to order, Poboy, Taco, Sandwich? I highly recommend the Poboy… spectacular! I enjoyed the Ahi banh grilled tuna Poboy, it was a special for the day and was awesome with the truffle fries is a great lunch! There are also regular and cajun fries. There are many Poboy choices, shrimp, bbq, and more, be careful if you do not like spicy, just ask for the jalapeños to be not included. Go now and enjoy!
