This location is not closed I just went there. Unfortunately my experience was not good. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad — a mistake! Salad was smothered in ranch dressing– way too much! And tons of spicy buffalo chicken on top(even tho menu says mild sauce). Left most of it just couldn’t eat it. My husband and son ate most of the chicken but the rest was just a puddle of dressing and lettuce.

Worst of the worst!!! Don’t waist your time!!! The only reason they have open seats is because it sucks! Service, owner, and staff! = worthless

The best Chicago style hot dog near the stadium! Loved every bite! Wish I could have had more than one. The fried mac and cheese nuggets were good too

Great place to go before or after a game/concert. This has been a family stop before and after games for decades.

Great outdoor patio. Very inviting on a nice day before or after a Cubs game. Unfortunately we approached the bitchiest, most belligerent bartender ever. She was not bantering or goofing around. She seriously only wanted to serve her group of friends, who were not ordering anything or spending any money; rather, they were standing around acting like d-bags. We did nothing to the bartender aside from order drinks which, last time I checked, is a usual and customary thing to do in a drinking establishment. She had the audacity to call one male member of our group a condescending name. There are too many other options in the area to patronize to bother with Bernie’s ever again.

Bernie’s is literally across the street from Wrigley Field and accordingly markets itself with a sports theme. As you enter there’s a bit of a slender room with a long bar and some high tops. As you turn the corner there is a larger room with some tables and another smaller bar plus some doors to a pretty spacious patio for those of you who like the outdoors or want to smoke. I would like to spend more time on the patio, but unfortunately the weather wasn’t cooperating. Our service was impeccable. We had a server who did a great job keeping tabs on us and making sure we needed new drinks. As a visitor I was happy to ask for some local brews and after a quick quiz was served some beers that I really enjoyed. I didn’t eat much during my visit, but the menu featured standard sports bar grub and by the deliveries to some of the tables near us it looks like those dishes included some heaping servings. I don’t think you’ll have any problem eating or drinking here. Plus there are a good amount of televisions to keep you focused on your game. Bernie’s is a good place. Please feel free to enjoy yourself before, during and after the game.

Came here for the game the Hawks brought the Cup back home. We chose this spot because all of the other bars off of Clark we already packed. This place eventually filled up as well but not until 10 minutes or so before game time. This is a two level place and we posted up on the second level by the bar. Normal bar. A lot of bar seating, tall boy tables, and some ledges around the foundation bearing pillars to gather and place your drinks. Had the mozzarella sticks, some 16oz Bud Lights, and watch the Blackhawks with a bar full of excited fans. The atmosphere was good and the service was on point. Maybe a less popular place but still provides all the regular bar options of the other Wrigleyville area bars.

Dropped in before a Cubs game. Cool bar with good food prices to be so close to the stadium. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap and fries. Buffalo chicken wrap was VERY spicey. To much for my liking and I was only able to finish half. Fries were good. Service was very good and we had a cool view of the stadium. I’d come back but order something different.

This place is pretty good, they have probably the most reasonable beer prices for a bar in Wrigley besides Houndstooth. Walked in and the bar is really cool, light up wooden vintage Chicago flag in a separate room in the back and an outdoor patio area with bags. Area that is in the front opens up to Clark Street. I’m 95% sure this place was closed this past winter for renovations, and even if it wasn’t and I’m wrong, the place looks like it has newer floors. Sitting down, our waitress Cassie was super nice. She recommended the mac and cheese bites, which we ordered. Not bad, but just average. You can tell they’re just your regular pre-made frozen Mac and cheese bites that have been fried. There’s nothing wrong with that, they’re still really good, I guess I was just expecting more from all the reviews. I would still order them again, they come with a side of ranch. We ordered Blue Moon’s and unlike Irish Oak, we got fresh slices of oranges with our beers haha. Boyfriend ordered the Italian beef sandwich with hot and sweet peppers, I opted for the BLTA sandwich(bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) on multigrain bread with garlic mayonnaise. Both of us chose sweet potato fries as our side. Food came out fairly quickly, and I have to say this was easily the best take on a BLT I’ve ever had. Normally I prefer white bread on a BLT, but I seriously didn’t mind with the amazing herbed mayonnaise that comes on the sandwich. I don’t know what’s in it but it seriously makes the sandwich. Creamy avocado and crispy huge slices of greasy bacon make this a must order on the menu. When I say the food is surprisingly good here, I mean that, I was just expecting your run of the mill standard bar food, and they go above that. Boyfriend’s Italian beef sandwich was pretty good, he thought they dipped it a little too much so it fell apart towards the end, but he still said it was delicious. I prefer mine heavily dipped so I took a bite of his and didn’t mind, his fault for not specifying when he ordered haha. A lot of TV’s to watch all the Cubs games, good food and really friendly wait staff make this my hands down favorite bar to go to before a Cubs game, or just overall in Wrigleyville. Beers will run you 4 – 5 $ which is pretty fair for the area, they had a 3 $ Fireball shot special the night we went.

Stopped in here prior to going to the cubs game. We always stop in before cubs games because of the great food and service. With it being chilly outside the windows were not open and the front bar was full(rightfully so due to being a great spot to visit). We went around to the bar in the back. We sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender, Tim. Tim was friendly and personable. Being from South Bend we wanted to catch part of the Blue and Gold game. Tim was quick to put the game on for us when it started. We usually order a burger as they are great. This particular time we were not hungry for lunch quite yet so we ordered the soft pretzel. It was nice and warm and came with plenty of cheese. We always visit Bernie’s because the the great service and reasonable prices. This experience was one of many of the great times we have had here and why we always come back.

Great place for beer and food before a cubs game! We always try to get there close to their opening time on a game day. You can always count on cold beer, delicious food, and great service. My favorite is the cheddar bacon BBQ burger. I always share it with my husband so we can still eat something at the baseball game. :) We usually sit in the bar area up front but yesterday we sat in the second bar. This area has high top tables, another bar, and plenty of TVs. We sat at the bar top and talked to the bartender, Tim. He was very accommodating… kept our drinks filled, brought food menus, and even changed the TVs to a football game we wanted to see. Bernie’s also has a patio/beer garden in the back. Very clean restaurant/bar with a great staff. I know I will be back before the next Cubs game!

What?! I haven’t reviewed Bernie’s?! It’s one of my dad’s favorite pre-Cubs game spots and I have visited before/after Cubs games as well as to randomly watch a Bears game. All in all, I like Bernie’s. Decent wine selection, nice beer selection and really good food! Have a burger — you’ll agree. My most recent visit was on Saturday for a late lunch — mini burgers fit the bill! Delicious, juicy, not overcooked, nicely browned on the edges and just a hint of a few onion rings to round things out. Staff is friendly and accommodating and even when they’re busy, they are still helpful and efficient. Worth a stop! A great patio makes things awesome for people watching as well.

Nice spot to come here before a cubs game! They have a pretty food beer menu with some craft beer selection and the food is solid. But in the end its still wrigley would not come here if it wasn’t for a game or outside of warm weather!

½ price Thursdays. Repeat after me: ½ price everything on Thursdays(except game days). Ah. Love it. It’s also directly across the street from the field and the patio is a primo spot for great people watching. The food is decent — probably 3 out of 5 stars, but the drinks are really good. So the drinks + prime location bump this spot up. Note: do not try to park anywhere nearby on game day, not gonna happen.

While waiting for the Cubs game to start, we popped-in to here for a drink and to kill some time. Bartenders were prompt and friendly; tap selection was very limited — nothing truly exciting or daring. Three beers and one soda cost $ 22. Yikes. After receiving our drinks, we moved outside near the outdoor bar/grille area. The food looked pretty decent — we didn’t sample anything as we had all-inclusive tickets for one of the rooftop venues. Bathrooms were clean and large. Not a bad place — I’d stop-in again if I were in the area.

Bernie’s is a fine place to be at any time, but after a game, it’s one of the best choices you can make. In a neighborhood saturated with bars, Bernie’s stands out, mainly because of its outdoor options. The sidewalk patio area closes a short time before the beer garden, both of which are great for Cub fans who don’t want to call it a night just yet. Service at the bar inside can be slow and the prices are on the high side, but after Gingerman, Bernie’s is still my favorite Wrigley bar.

I’ve been a Bernie’s regular for a while now, so it’s a damn shame I haven’t written a review. The staff always seems happy to see you and ready to make you happy whether it’s a busy game day or a Tuesday evening in winter. On top of that, it’s a nice change from the juvenile shenanigans that take place south of Addison. Good beer, good food, and good service is a mantra for just about any establishment, but a tight neighborhood connection sets Bernie’s ahead of the rest, while still being inviting to tourists. Cubs’ opposing fans need not be afraid.

This spot has slowly grown into my favorite Wrigleyville bar. The serves are friendly, the food is really good, and the drinks are reasonable. They even have free shuffleboard! The bar itself is probably one of the smaller Wrigleyville bars, so it can get packed on the weekends. If you have a large group get there early and you will have a great time.

Bernie’s is a great bar to stop in before or after a Cubs game and grab a few drink and/or a quick bite to eat. They make a pretty good, and pretty massive, sausage and beef sandwich. I’m a fan of the crowd here-laid back, not too frat-tastical like some of the other Wrigleyville hot spots. In my opinion its nothing too special but it just is what it is… food, booze, and a quick walk to Wrigley Field.

I live in Lakeview, right? BUT, I hate Wrigleyville bars. Despise even. Bcorn was awesome back in the day… but not so much anymore. Anyway, my three bestests and I were out after the Cub’s game and searching for some cheap food. Destination? Somewhere we didn’t hate with a passion. We started out at Rockit, but quickly realized that everything was over $ 10. Plus, the crowd seemed a little too stuffy for 9pm on a Tuesday. Not fans. Fail. Enter Bernie’s! Yes, I may have been too quick to judge this place. It looks like any other annoying 21 year-old filled bar in Wrigley. But, once you walk through the bar and enter the huge beer garden/patio, you realize that you just discovered an amazing secret. How did we never know this existed before?! MIssing out, for sure. I adore that you can order food from the little counter in the patio. Convenience at its finest! My friends and all seriously OD’ed on cheese that night — grilled cheese, waffle fries w/cheese, cheese stix… Good god. The grilled cheese($ 4 w/fries!) was awesome — and came with american and swiss cheese. Cheap and delish! Friendly staff? Yes. Chill crowd? Yup! Perhaps I should give Wrigleyville another try? …Eh, probably not. But Bernie’s definitely has points in my book now!
