Where do I start? By shaking my head… I scheduled an appoinment via style seat with ‘NicolbyBriana’ for today. Unfortunately I can’t give a review of my hair because I never got my hair done. 2 hours before my scheduled appoinment at 11am she asks to reschedule for 4pm. *Please note that her policy on style seat puts the burden on the client that if you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours notice you will be charged 50−100%. Okay…but what if the stylist cancels for reschedules at the last minute? I was on my way to Chicago from 2 hours away, so to text me at that short notice is a problem. It shows a lack of professionalism that unfortunate is prevalent in this industry for African Americans. She tells me in her last message that she is not in Chicago, but ATL. WHA??? I took as reel shot of her profile on style seat that clearly states she is at Añu Salon in Chicago. This was really sad. The worst part… Not ONE apology was sent… no offer of accommodations or anything. Please can our businesses learn to adopt better customer service relations, but also learn that professionalism goes a long way with becoming successful? From her profile it seems as though she is very talented. Unfortunately her customer service and professional etiquette don’t’ match – at least not for me. Too bad,

I came to this salon for an ombré hair coloring from hairstylist Roxanne Dunigan. I waited an hour and half to be seen and when I was finally waited on Roxanne’s assistant while she talked on the phone. Once my color was done, it was not what I asked for… it was done incorrectly. My color is not ombré style, its a simple color. So once Roxanne blew out my hair… I let them know the color was done wrong. Roxanne immediately got an attitude with me and I asked for my hair to be curled, she curled my hair in little tight curls like Shirley Temple… which i clearly didn’t ask for. So I tell Roxanne I don’t like the style so she starts raising her voice at me saying«What you want me to do?» Clearly she didn’t want to do my hair in the first place. She agreed to curl me hair over once I told her I was not satisfied, which was a rush job because she was upset with me not liking the style. So then she starts talking about me while i’m there to her assistant and friend that was just hanging in the salon. I asked to speak to manager for her unprofessionalism and she starts cursing me out saying I’m on some bullshit and instead calling her manager she’s calls the police on me as if i was the irate customer when it was her the whole time yelling and cursing at me.

Lalitha(Lala) is an amaing stylist. She offers $ 225 sew ins(i always make it $ 240 with the tip) and she can blow out natural hair like no other! She is extremely professional and has never cancelled an appointment. I have been going to her for 6 years now! She does not overbook her clients so you will be in and out. I typically go during the week and in the mornings. There is free street parking available. The salon is clean and relaxing. There are 3 levels and they offer other services such as waxing and nails. You can reach Lala at(773) 540‑1772!

I have been a client of Lalitha for almost 10 years! She is a very talented and gifted stylist. I joke with her and call her a hair surgeon. I currently live in Houston, TX but I do not trust anyone except Lalitha to take care of my hair so I am often back in town for an appointment. She is skilled to take care of a variety of different hair types. When I hear ANYONE mention a need for a stylist I always recommend Lalitha. But if I ever get established enough to cover her full time salary, I will be stealing her from you all! Lol! So book now while you can!

Sharon(salon owner) has been my stylist for close to 7 years and I love her. Not only can she style hair, but my hair is healthy! She has been responsive to any questions I have and truly knows how to cater to her clients. If you want a cut, that will have people stopping you in the street to ask who does your hair… visit Sharon!

I have been seeing the loctician, Kerry, for about 4 weeks now. I am easily able to make my appointments online and have never had an issue. The Salon is clean and has a very relaxing atmosphere. I have never had a long wait –in, worked on. and out. AND I get lots of complements on my babylocs… lol.

I visited A’nu Salon for the first time last month. I was seen by stylist Getaun(not sure if I spelled that correctly) and she was fabulous! The salon is in a townhome style building so the setting is comfortable & cute, like you’re in someone’s home. I usually dread going to salon’s because it seems you never get seen at your actual appt. time, but I was greeted promptly and attended to even as she finished with the previous client. I told her the look I was going for and she executed it perfectly. Getaun was friendly and professional and I will definitely be going back!

Went based on a referral from a friend because I have short nappy hair. I called the stylist a few days before and she said she could not talk to me but I could make an appointment online. I reviewed their website which states they blow out natural hair which is what I wanted. After sitting in the shop for 30 minutes, the stylist came over looked at my hair and said«I don;t blow out short hair». You say you handle natural hair but you can’t do short nappy hair!!! I think she was about three people behind and just did not want to spend the time working on my hair and I was a first time customer. What a waste of time and another reason why I don;t like going to beauty salons for services.
