Pretty great spot in Pilsen to pick up liquor. They have a giant selection of booze to choose from and the staff is pretty friendly and should be able to help you get whatever you need. They are pretty reasonable on price. They aren’t as cheap as Binny’s or Jewel would be but they are less expensive than a 7-Eleven or corner liquor store.

Still going to this place semi-regularly. I prefer Gentile’s Wine Shop just north at Taylor and Racine, but for Pilsen this spot is ok. Another poster mentioned the $ 10 minimum on credit card purchases — they haven’t required that for along time. Sadly Honky Tonk is no longer BYOB, so no need to stop by this place first if you’re on your way there.

After the Chicago blizzard of ’11, the owner let me borrow the store’s shovel, and I have found Bell’s Hopslam here(without a markup). That’s 5 stars for me.

This place is right around the corner from my sister’s apartment, looking for a place to pick up some beer to take home with me. Found this place to have a better selection then what I expected with 2 or 3 doors of cooler space for craft beer including lots of stuff from Goose Island and several other local place. The staff was also super friendly!

This place has a cat and a stock dude that yells at the cat for losing the PBR. They have a good selection of down and dirty malt beverages and a growing selection of decent beers, plus an «aged wine» section(if you catch my drift.) Staff is always friendly and its not embarrassing to be a regular here. $ 10 credit card minimum…

Last time I was in this place I came extremely close to throwing my 22 of Modelo through the front window. I was on my way to the beach and had stopped down the street for a torta. Wanted a few 22s to bring with me to the beach. I had $ 1 and my debit card. I get the whole losing a few cents because of a transaction fee on the debit card and could tell this was a place with a minimum charge for sure. So I bring my two cans up and give him my card before he even says anything I say, «You can take .25 or .50 cents out of this dollar to cover your fees because I only want these two cans and I know they only cost $ 5». Assuming a 3% fee, which is high my .50 cents would have covered a $ 16 purchase. The guy was a total dick, «No, $ 10 minimum», I explained how that makes no sense and he is making money of the transaction. Even offered for him to keep my whole dollar. A$$holes. Will never be back unless it is with a brick for the previously mentioned window. RrL P. S. there is a much friendlier spot a block or two east on 18th, they are cash only but very nice.

This is my place to shop. Decent selection of beer and liquor. Good hours. My favorite brand of shiraz. Nice people working there.

Decent selection of booze. They have a friendly store cat named Buddy. Buddy likes to be pet, but don’t rub his belly if he rolls on his back. Otherwise his red slimy thing comes out.
