Since I work in the building I have been obliged to eat here a few times. Not more than cafeteria style food but two sandwiches are actually pretty good. The Monterey, which has chicken and avocado and spicy mayo, and their Muffaletta. I am not an expert at how a great Muffaletta should taste, but I think it’s pretty good. Other than that, it’s pretty bland.

Ok… so I’ve been here numerous times and it’s hit or miss. Today I decided to try thier pasta… Chicken Tequila. Anyways…as my pasta was put in the styrofoam container I noticed the disproportionate quantity of pasta to sauce. I asked for a little more sauce and was told it’s an additional $ 2…WOW…for another TEASPOON of sauce!!! So passed on the extra sauce, paid, and sat down to eat. THEREWASLIKENOOOOFREAKINCHICKENINMYPASTA. You get more chicken from a McDonalds snackwrap. Never am I getting anything pasta here agian. Anyways…Alonti isn’t bad for lunch… decent food and you feel like you actually ate something. I do have to mention that the Chicken Tequila has been doing strange things to my inner peace while I’m sitting here working. I feel an internal conflict brewing.

Good menu full of pasta and sandwiches, as well as a decent assortment of drinks. Salads are available too. Its a decent quality place but too expensive. Decent amount of chairs and tables so you can dine in. Convenient since Union Station is across the street, either for more food choices and/or transportation.

Pretty extensive menu. cereal, yogurt, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches in the morning. sandwiches, salads, pasta, and a small buffet for lunch. Overall, a little overpriced($ 5 – 6 for just a sandwich). But huge seating area. However, they stopped making cheese grits in the mornings, and that does not make me happy!

I had never been to an Alonti before I started my new job and found it convenient. Most things are fairly inexpensive. I really like their salads. You can buy a standard salad(caesar) or they can make a custom one for you, you pick the lettuce(romaine, iceberg or mixed) and add as many ingredients as you want(a large selection too). However, each item is $.35 so it can get expensive if you get too many things. I ordered the boxed lunch last Friday(grilled cheese, chips & can of pop) and the sandwich was barely warm and the cheese wasn’t melted at all, it was kind of nasty. They sell alcohol for the ride home which is cheaper than you’ll find in any bar. Their other drinks(soft drinks, juices, etc) are way over priced. I haven’t seen a receipt to know exactly how much they are but plan on an additional $ 2 added to your food order when getting a drink. Make the extra trip to Osco or one of the Relay stores in the building if you can.
