Albany Park 17th District Police Station

The blue eyed officer at the front desk is ALWAYS so friendly, polite, understanding, and pleasant and so funny. Officers like him and those at the 17^th District Police Department are my favorite! Wish all cops were as wonderful as them! Go there and you’ll be sure to leave with a smile — unless you’re a criminal, of course. :-)

Everyone can come to Unilocal to complain about cops and hide behind the veil of the keyboard, but no one will walk into the station and complain, huh?
In the last 6 – 7 years I have seen Old Irving Park begin to crumble a bit. My car has been broken into/​vandalized 3 times in 6 years. Why? Bored teens and CPD budget cutbacks. Everywhere you go lately, there is glass on the curb or streetside where some poor person’s car was broken into.
Cleaning glass from every crack and crevice of your car, thinking it’s all good, driving for a week and constantly finding more glass is annoying, aside from the expense of the fix. $ 400 later and all they took was my cigarettes…
Everyone has a bad day. The cops at the front desk might be pissed that they are working the front desk for whatever reason. Who knows? You ever have a bad day at work? Try to deal with scumbags all day and see if you don’t try to just coast through your day with minimal hassle. I would.
I have had times when I have spoken to nice AND rude people at the front of the station.
I have had cops not show up to minor calls, I have also had cops pursue and catch offenders, in my experiences.
There is a push/​pull with all jobs, unfortunately there is alot of badness among CPD, but there is also good too.
Everyone can hop on Unilocal and complain about rude cops, but how about coming back and posting when there is a positive experience? Positive experiences do occur, but good things are expected and taken for granted, hence CPD’s Unilocal will always be low.
