I visited because of a gift I received. My friend bought me an Horchata scented candle from here. Yes. Horchata. I thought such a unique(and deliciously scented) candle must come from a wonderful store and I was right. Alapash offers some beautiful and unique items for your home. I was intrigued by all the succulents and terrariums available. Many different sizes, many different arrangements. My son decided on a clay-potted star succulent for his grandmother for Christmas and she loved it. Alapash provided care instructions to me but also assured me that MIL could get the care instructions via their website also. The other items that caught my eye were the colorful throw rugs, pillows and many different candles to help you decorate your home to your fancy. The gent helping me was so sweet and so enthusiastic about all the items on display. It’s so refreshing to hear an owner’s passion for their items and honest love for everything they display.

Where do I begin? Alapash is an absolutely beautiful space full of lovely things. When I come into the store, it is very difficult to not buy all of the unique things that catch my eye. The succulents and other plants are exquisite, and it’s obvious that the owner has a passion for what he does. The store has expanded and now has a rotating selection of art, throws, pillows, and jewelry. I recently brought in a succulent that needed repotting, and the owners took time to give me the instructions on caring for them, then replaced the plant for free! They are friendly and helpful, and always take time to talk with their customers. I can’t recommend visiting Alapash enough-you’ll be hooked!

Everything in this home goods store is beautiful. The terrariums, pottery, throw blankets, light fixtures, even the salad servers — every single item here has been so carefully selected, and there are very few items that you can find elsewhere. It’s a pleasure just to be in this light-filled, lovely space. And the owner, who clearly loves what he does, makes the experience of shopping here all the more pleasant.

Please give me everything in here. Please. You do pay a little bit extra for the goods here, but the shop is so well-curated and my experience with the staff so pleasant that I think this is something worth the splurge. You can get a succulent the size of your fist, unpotted for $ 15(it will eventually need soil) or you can upgrade to a potted plant which seemed to vary from $ 30−35… normally this would turn me off, but the plants fit well in their potters, and the potters themselves are handpainted and unique and would fit well in any style of home. Instant hassle free gifting at its finest. Terrariums ranged all over the spectrum from $ 50 – 175 depending on size. The terrariums are absolutely gorgeous and so well done. They look straight out of a magazine! Whoever puts these together is supremely talented at floral arrangement. When I win the lottery, this place will be the first I go to to decorate whatever little mansion I end up buying along the way. Until then, I’m excited to return to Alapash and continue buying little potted gems to spruce up my apartment.

The new space, moving from Montrose Ave, is absolutely wonderful! The store is full of unique and interesting items, ones that you can tell are thoughtfully made. Even if you are only browsing, the space is pleasant to be in, unpretentious, down to earth and cozy. Great selection of items for your home ranging from geodes and plants, to jewelry, and journals. Such a range of creative items to choose from, it’s hard not to fall in love with this store.

Fitting right in and a welcome addition to the new stretch of storefronts on Damen north of Lawrence. While they still have a location on Montrose their new location is so much different. Wide open, light and airy with a wider selection than before of various home goods and crafty pieces. Looking forward to see how they grow into the new space.
