I have been coming here since the early 70’s and have found this to be the most inviting smoke shop there is. Everyone is knowledgeable and offer great tips. No matter where in the city I’m living I always make it here to stock up. Stop in, you won’t regret it!

Decent shop. Very friendly staff. Don’t come in here if you’re in a hurry because they will talk to you forever. Good prices on pipes though.

It’s nice to enter a store where the employees don’t run up to you and ask you if you need help before you have even surveyed the place. This was my first visit, but it definitely stirred up the old senses from tours of old. I haven’t been to a headshop in years, but this place evoked that smile from my past. The shop owner has my sense of humor who also noticed a small SYF logo on my clothing which started us talking. The selection of items were up to date and appropriately priced for the changing economy. It’s nice to have a store from my past pop up again in a totally new city. They take credit cards… and return them too. Expect this customer to visit again.

Fantastic little shop up on the north side. Best glassware selection I’ve ever seen. Large range of prices. Cool and knowledgeable dudes running the place. Seriously worth the trek. If you’re looking for a unique piece, Adams Apple will NOT disappoint.

I was walking in my neighborhood, getting in some exercise, when it started raining a bit. I walked into Adams apple to get a respite from the wetness. I forgot I had been here some 15 years ago when it was not so easy to find water pipes and similar products. I bought a nice piece and went home to «display» it. I had buyers remorse and went back to upgrade to a bigger and better piece. What a nice gift to myself. The staff is genuine and courteous. This place is cool.

This place is fantastic. I’ve been going here for a month or so now and right off the bat I was blown away at how great the owner and his staff are. He’s got a great story to tell about almost everything and he is a like an encyclopedia when it comes to smoking accessories. They have great selection and reasonable prices. Most notably, they feature a whole case of pipes blown my noted midwest blower Bear Claw as well as every other concievable smoking aparatus ever invented(seriously). Prices are very reasonable(pipes from 20, hitters from 5 – 10, water pipes from 40 and way to many more to list) but you should know that if you are getting a one of a kind piece of art like a Bear Claw pipe, you should expect to pay for it. These pipes are amazing and they look fantastic, but they will cost you around $ 400 anywhere you go. Adam’s Apple has the best prices I’ve ever seen on Bear Claws though. You’ve been warned, so start saving up. They also have lots of shirts, incense and lots of other great ‘hippie stuff’. I will never go to Secrets again. That is how great this place is. Check it out

I can’t think of a good reason to come back here. The woman who runs the place was really rude to me – I was on the phone with a friend trying to choose a gift for someone’s birthday, and she turned the volume of the music in the place way up and stuck her tongue out at me. I could kind of see doing that if I was just being a loud douche on a cell phone, but I was clearly talking to someone helping me to decide which of her pieces to buy. Besides, the selection’s not that great, and the pipes are more expensive than average. Ash’s Smoke Shop on Clark is way better and the guy inside is awesome.

Adams Apple is probably my favorite head shop in the city because it looks exactly as it should– like walking into a hippy’s basement. The place is pretty simple, a couipla racks of tie-dye shirts, some kitschy Chicago PD shirts, a few cases of glassware and a bunch of stuff behind the counter. I took my brother in here for his birthday this last year and let him pick out his present. When we left, he goes«That place was fucking weird.» «Why do you say that?» I asked. «Well, did you see them selling Country Time Lemonade behind the counter? No frig. Weird.» They sell some creative safes and hiding places. Always a plus in a head shop.

Adams Apple hands down is the best glass shop I have ever been to. You are wasting your money elsewhere.

Best Smoke Shop in Chicago. They have an awesome and wide variety of glass pieces. They also sell hookahs, incense, t-shirts, cleaners, and lots of other useful products. The guys who work here are old hippes and are really nice and will help you out with any questions you may have. A Chicago staple.
