Had the pleasure of having after dinner drinks here Showed up for Hawks game after a lovely evening with the girls at Machu Picchu across the street The bartender Chad, took very good care of me. There was a very enthusiastic other client at sitting at the bar and on Chad very nicely tell him told him to go away. The drinks, the bartenders, the atmosphere, make for a awesome evening if you want to have a sporting event out

Great beer selection, good food choices and a rotating menu to boot! Every time I come in, there’s good music and something interesting to watch on TV(SKY, etc). They’re kid friendly and also trivia Wednesday nights, but get there early to find a table.

My place to go for any soccer match, I love $ 2 taco Tuesday’s at AJ’s and have always had pleasant conversations with the bartenders. The food, selection of beer make for an awesome environment for any sporting event.

It doesn’t look like it, but this place has absolutely amazing food. The Reuben is fantastic. I’ve even ordered take out from them it’s so good! They beer selection is great and the ambiance is perfect for the neighborhood corner bar. My boyfriend is from Germany and loves going there to watch all the soccer matches during tournaments, definitely a one of a kind soccer bar. I also hear they have a fantastic brunch.

Very fun soccer /Liverpool bar! Came here early on a Sunday morning to watch a Liverpool game. Game started at 11:15AM and we got there at about 9:40AM to secure a table. Good thing we arrived early, as there was only one table left open! We settled in and ordered some Carlsberg beers for $ 4.50 right away. Also ordered an Irish coffee which was spot on for 10am. They have TVS all over the place, so no need to crane your neck to view the game. Their food, albeit bar food, is pretty decent. We got two different omelets, with their house potato hash, and was pleasantly surprised for a decent breakfast. Most importantly, they have fun raffles at their games based on number of drinks consumed. Ultimately, I ended up winning a Foosball table. Double points! I’ll be back to watch soccer games and enjoy my weekend mornings here.

3 words. Reuben egg rolls. What else do I even need to say? Also an insane list of beer options. You should try them all!

Perfectly good neighborhood bar for watching sports. The biggest plus I have found here is the significant table space and great service. When coming in for the Cubs game I found a table for friends about 40 minutes before the game. Throughout even as the bar filled up the servers always stayed attentive and it was really easy to order additional beers. They have a decent set of beers on menu including some less expensive imports. The 22 oz carlsburg for 5.5 is a solid deal. The only drawback is the food. We ordered wings and nachos. wings were average but nothing special. Nachos were not very good. They fry their own chips leaving many soggy and drenched in oil. The cheese used is a sauce which I recognize people like but I am not a big fan of. Don’t come here for the food but do come for a good place to watch a game and have some beers with friends.

Great bar with a huge selection of beer on draft. It’s decently sized with a lot of room for customers. The staff here is always pleasant and I enjoy talking with them. I recommend the outdoor seating as it has it’s own TV and who doesn’t love sitting out in the warm weather with a cold beer? The nachos and fish tacos are to die for. I wouldn’t suggest doing the trivia nights here however, it just isn’t as fun as other bars’ trivia.

I’ve been to AJs now several times and it has taken me some time to warm up to this place. This is by fave my favorite bar to come to Sunday or Saturday morning to watch the English premier league, even though this is where the Chicago Chelsea fan club always meets. Unlike many other soccer bars, it’s bright with open windows and even a really sweet outdoor area loaded with tvs. AJs has excellent food, particularly probably the best Ruben in Chicago and they also make their own Bloody Mary mix which is absolutely delicious. Although the service is a little bit slow, probably because they seem under staffed a little for big premier games, the staff is always very friendly and does their best. I definitely want to become a regular here.

A great place to watch a soccer game, along with one the best burgers that I’ve had in Chicago so far! To clarify, while this is a soccer based bar, all sports are more than welcome. So If you want to watch a game there is a very high chance that the bartenders will put it for you in the one of the TVs. The staff and bartenders are very attentive and will serve you immediately as far as the bar isn’t packed with people, and even then they work fairly fast. They have a high selection of drafts beers, on-tap beers, and ciders; which is great for me because I love ciders. If hard liquor or mixed drinks are more your thing then AJ Hudson has got you covered. The food is amazing and they recently changed up there menu. While I haven’t tried everything on the new menu, I would recommend the BYO Burger because this is the Hudson Burger before the menu was overhauled. The burgers are juicy, thick, and taste amazing! Have them with fries though because the other side dishes are a little bland. You can literally come into this bar and ask for any game that’s going on at that moment in time, even rugby. This place always looks clean and is great whether you want to enjoy a game by yourself or if you want to take a group of friends with you.

Four of us entered strangers’ land for the grand FA Cup final game, Arsenal vs. Aston Villa. Game time was 11:30AM but our group«promptly» arrived at 10:00AM. I do admit that we were slightly over the top as we arrived to an empty venue. But the bright side was getting first dibs on finding the best seat for the game. It was early and we were starving. Off the brunch menu, I had the sausage and egg sandwich with provolone cheese. My sandwich was leaking oil as I held it up to take a bite. After several bites, I noticed a puddle of oil on my plate. Yes, we are at a bar and I shouldn’t expect my food to be healthy but excessive oil isn’t appetizing either. I resorted to soaking up the excess oil with my napkin before continuing with my sandwich. I was a good sport and finished without wasting a single crumb. The breakfast potatoes were a lot better. They came in small bits with a good crisp. Will I return? Most likely for a futbol game since we were easily able to get a table with seats.

The real draw to this place is that it is maybe a block from where I live. Other than that, I do not know that my friends and I would have wandered in. We were looking for a place to watch a Blackhawks game, and this proved to be a perfect location for that. The beer deals were pretty good and we enjoyed a sports-bar-y atmosphere. Our server was very sweet, she had just moved here from Ireland that week and was genuine and friendly. We only went as far as fries with the food menu, but the other offerings were alluring. The fries were amazing, and there were about four varieties of flavors that we had a hard time deciding on. I plan to go back and try some food at some point in the near future!

I want to love this place because it’s one of the official Liverpool FC Fan Club pubs. I’ve been here 5 or 6 times to watch a game. The atmosphere is pretty decent and what I expected. The service is average. The beer is what I’d expect from this type of establishment. Each time I’ve gotten the food, however, I’ve been underwhelmed. Not sure if they do much more than chips(fries) well, but of course, I haven’t tried every item on the menu. I keep coming back but I just know not to order the food. I hear the patio is nice in hte summer!

I’m not making this up. My friend and I went here for a Blackhawks game last night and it was packed, but you’d think they would plan for that. After sitting at a table for ten minutes without an acknowledgment from anyone, we picked up our own menus. The server didn’t come to our table or even notice us for about 20 minutes. It took another 20 minutes to get our waters and for the server to take our order. Then, I kid you not, our food came out 1 hour and 15 minutes later. I know because I kept checking my watch because I was STARVING. I ordered a veggie burger, and all it came with was a patty, cheese, and avocado. They left off the lettuce, onion, and tomato. What. I wouldn’t be so annoyed if on top of all this that our server didn’t check on us, update us, or even apologize to us. And my incomplete food order didn’t come with an explanation either. I’m kind of flabbergasted with my experience, and maybe this is an outstanding experience, but I saw another similar review and felt I should share that I went through it too. Yikes.

Unfortunately, this place was more memorable for the incredibly slow service than the great atmosphere. Some friends and I came here to watch the Blackhawks playoff game– they’re typically good judges of restaurants and it looked like a fun place online, so I went. When we got there, the place was pretty full. Within ten minutes, our server came to greet us and take our order. We got a few plates of wings and while they were good, they were nothing to write home about. After receiving our food, our server didn’t come back to our table for 45 minutes. If there was a problem with our food or if we just wanted to get more food and drinks(we did), she wasn’t around to assess the situation, which loss of revenue for the restaurant and a diminished customer experience for us. Having worked in a service industry, I was trying my best to explain why she was gone so long. «Maybe they’re understaffed.» «Maybe she’s new and doesn’t know how to float.» «Maybe there’s another room and this restaurant is way bigger than I anticipated.» «Maybe she’s pregnant and in the back throwing up.». At the end of the day, I had nothing. Once the game was over it took us another 40 minutes to get our check and pay for it. To her credit, our server did say that the payment process took longer due to a computer issue, but that still didn’t account for the fact that outside of a water refill, we were ignored for more than an hour. We left the bar happy because the Blackhawks won, but I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I will probably come back just because anyone can have a bad night, but it’s not a priority.

friendly staff, fun regulars… spacious… but nothing much else to say. they don’t serve guinness(we went for st. patrick’s day) and as many have noted, they were out of several other beers. stay for a beer or 2 but leave to grab food down the street at zia’s or kitchenette. the food was greasy and service was slow.

This place isn’t bad, but it is completely unremarkable. The food is decent, the beer selection is decent(it would be better if they actually stocked everything they list), the service is decent. I really can’t think of one reason why I would come here of my own accord. They are a PSU bar, and I have several friends who are PSU fans, so we come here for games sometimes, but I always look forward to leaving. In fact, thinking about this place enough to write a review is tedious. Done.

Finally ate food here while watching Duke win a 5thNCAA basketball championship. It was delicious but the game made it that much sweeter. We tried a bunch of different beers on the list. I get that the list is changing constantly(and that’s a good thing! Love variety!) but our waitress kept having to run back to the bar to ask if each particular beer was there or not which kinda got frustrating. It’s all good though. We ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with a side salad, some naked wings, and tacos. All were freshly prepared and delivered quickly. Great atmosphere for the game, although it’s probably the least crowded I’ve ever seen the place! Can’t wait til it warms up to enjoy the patio outside again.

If you’re going to make a big deal about having a big beer list, you should at least stock those beers. It’s become a joke here that they don’t have most of the beers you order off the menu. It’s a good place to watch sports and for trivia, and the waitstaff is friendly. However, they don’t schedule enough people, so expect a long wait for everything. The food is ok for a bar.

This is our favorite neighborhood bar. They have an outstanding outdoor area in the summer that’s perfect to take the kids to a quick lunch. There are a ton of beers on tap and the prices are very reasonable. The highlight of AJ’s is the food. The menu is simple, but it’s really solid bar food. The service is always very friendly and that’s what keeps us coming back.
