So I came here with the boyfriend & I was surprised to see the range of items sold here. They had things like paint, accent pillows & light fixtures as well as old furniture(including old turntable radio boxes). I think some stuff was way over priced but they have sales often(& it is for charity). We plan on going more often.

There isn’t a huge selection, but there is a little bit of everything; in conditions ranging from new, to gently used, to quite used. The store does a good job of organizing everything, and it isn’t crowded. It’s worth a look if you’re into DIY upgrades, crafting and/or repurposing. Also, there’s always new stuff coming in Thursday through Saturday, so it wouldn’t hurt to check back often if you’re looking for something specific.

I’ve had lousy experiences both trying to donate and purchase. They do have lots of cool random items and have an awesome mission. It’s nice to know the money goes to a good cause locally. It’s also great that things that would otherwise get thrown away can be re-used. Worth a look around if you’re nearby Trying to donate, however, was a chore. Had good quality furniture, a whole gallon of contractor paint, child’s high-chair, and two desk chairs. After pressing the matter, was told to go around back where the guy picked one of the items and refused the rest. Buying isn’t much better. While they have lots of cool stuff to look at, their prices are terrible. They had stencil art drawing of a naked horseman on a psychedelic flying stallion, for example, priced at $ 1500. Their furniture was the best(in the store, not in overall quality), but you can find similar quality stuff down the street at the Salvation Army for less than $ 100; whereas theirs was priced much higher when priced at all.

You never know what you are going to find when you stop by. The longer this store is open the better it gets! It is a must stop for anyone updating their home. Not only will you save money you will be helping a great cause as well. Staff is friendly and helpful. They also offer recycling services for electronics. And now offer their own brand of paint in a handful of colors for a great price! Give them a try.

When I go into a home décor store I look for two expectations to be met: 1. have good displays of a variety of things 2. have helpful people in the store to help me if I need help. Well the Restore hit both of these expectations out of the park for me when I visited. I bought several things to use on my next home DIY projects and learned a few things from talking to Bob and Boyd. This store is a gem-don’t miss stopping in. Dennis Benard Homewood, IL

I haven’t dealt with the organization here, only frequented the ReStore. Not sure if you know this, but Habitat sells surplus inventory and donated items that aren’t going to be used. They carry a pretty large inventory of used coffee tables, entertainment centers, bath vanities, counter tops, doors, etc. I’m not going to lie and say you could furnish your new condo in the South Loop with stuff you buy here, but if you have rental property or enjoy refurbishing stuff like this, it’s good. They also have a number of new items, like towel rods, cleaning supplies, gloves, carpet, paint, electrical supplies… All of this is super, super cheap. Great place to go before you hit the nearest Home Depot/Menard’s/Lowe’s if you live anywhere near here. Just don’t get a wasp stuck in your car like I did.
