Worst service I have ever had. This use to be our special date night spot, not anymore. I dnt even know where to begin. The service was slow. Even though the restaurant was vastly emplty. We didn’t even get the blue cheese spread that they are famously known for. We had to ask for it. We didn’t get water refills. I hated the drink I ordered so I ordered another one. They didn’t even remove the one from our bill. Every time we looked for our waitress for, relish tray, Tabasco sauce for the oyster Rockefeller, the bill, water, she was by the bar hanging out talking to the other waitressess, The food was slammed all at once at our faces. She never came by to check on us about our dinner. My husband wants me to say the food was still good. He ordered the stuffed shrimp, which was exceptional. I say the service left a bad taste in my mouth and that’s what lingers long after the meal is done.

The place is old and desperate need for remodeling. The food was below average. Save your money!

Went a couple Weeks ago on Saturday night for my dad’s 70th bday. It had been a while since I last been there and heard they had remodeled. It didn’t really look remodeled, basically a big open dining room. Everything else is right out of 1940. They desperately need a renovation OUTSIDE this place. The menu is good many options of Italian meats and seafood. Kids menu too. Our server was pretty old and was ok-got a few items incorrect. The food was excellent — I mean really. The ravioli gravy was perfect. Great ribs too. Everyone loved their meal. The price? Well a little much for that place but it was still overall a decent experience. However the makeover was not good and the place needs an overhaul outside. Then again, the neighborhood needs an overhaul.

Used to be a cozy booth place, was my parents favorite place to go for years! I’m am relieved they are no longer here to see the remodeling job… A very strange cold large room for dining. That’s it … Nothing warm about it now. It’s a shame the place lost all of its charm

Its awesome. Its the real thing. Its Da Heights. Yes, the old days had Savoia’s and the Tivoli and this is a little pale but its still amazing authentic Italian old style from the relish tray, then maybe some baked Mostaccioli, a little white fish with chianti, and some Anisette in your coffee with some cannoli. Oh, life is so sweet. Louis Prima, where are you?

No one does lasagna and meat sauce better. Their soup and relish tray are delicious, and the Sunday Brunch is excellent.

I had a family celebration of life dinner for my aunt. The staff couldn’t do enough to help us out. One girl even helped us carry stuff back out to the car. The food was absolutely delicious! I had another family function back in June and I have to give the same review for that as well. So if your having a large party or its just the 2 of you, I can’t begin to recommend Carlos Lorrenzetti highly enough.

As of about 1÷23÷15, this business has closed. The sign says they are closed for remodeling — «See you in 2 weeks.» So in theory they would be open by about 2⁄6 or so. We’ll see.

Updating Review — 08⁄2015 — I’m upping this brunch a half star to 3 ½ stars . This is a Sunday brunch buffet review. They take the small banquet room in front and convert it for Sunday brunch. In this update I noticed another private room available for larger gatherings(IE after a funeral, after church outing, etc.). Look at their website and it will describe wht’s included in the buffet. I will list the items to the best of my memory, followed by a very brief(review) of each item. Plus«+» sign a positive and minus«-» sign a negative. Breakfast items: eggs/scrmbled(+ good), bacon(+ crispy salty meat), sausage(+ good), hash browns(+ big chunks, tasty), cb hash(+ good), bis & gravy(+ good), did not try the blintzes, crepes, pancakes, fr toast, waffles but they looked good. Salad Bar: Iceberg lettuce mix(+ OK fine), toppings: chopped eggs, cut red onion, halved grape tomatoes, ched cheese, bacon bits, croutons, beets, a couple more. Several dressings included creamy blue cheese w chunks(+ thick tasty blue), creamy garlic(+ rich), several others. Also other salad offerings: cole slaw, creamy green pea salad, roasted red peppers, orange fluff jello salad, a few more. It’s all good. The same table has balls of cream cheese, butter, jams, syrup, bread & buns Hot Lunch: sliced roast pork(+/-just ok), sliced turkey breast(+ good), roast potato wedge/garlic(+ good), italian sausage w peppers & onion in red sauce,(+ good flavor and not fatty), pasta w meat sauce(+ like a *ragu sauce, a little sweet but meaty & rich), big meatballs in red sauce(+ good), fried chicken(+ good), beef stew(+ good thick beefy w trad veg and tasty), dressing(+ good), green beans(+ fresh good), mashed potatoes & gravy(+ OK fine) chicken tetrazzini(+ good), alfredo mushroom sauce(+ good), candied yams(+ good), sliced ham(+/-generic, close to but not Canadian ham) Other items I didn’t try: fried fish w tartar, steamed or basted fish, corn, pasta in marinara sauce, creamy chicken soup, another soup, rolls and butter. *a ragu sauce is a rich meaty red sauce, it does NOT refer to the bottled store brand. Desert: I tried the mini cannoli and chocolate covered cream puff. Both(+ good). There are many more including little squares of various cakes, pan pies and similar pastries and also cookies, plus fresh strawberries and melon fruits. They were(+ good)
This is a value priced buffet, under $ 15 at this writing, and my review reflects that by not giving anything an outstanding, jaw dropping rating, but the food is solidly good. Those high end Sunday brunch buffets exist but in more upscale towns and the loop area. They are much more(3 to 5 X) expensive as well. Don’t expect upscale here and you’ll be satisfied. This brunch buffet has a whole lot of food items and all done pretty good. All it’s missing is a carving station and at this writing there was no omlette station which would’ve gotten them another star in this review. Still, unless you’re hung up on décor, this is a satisfying brunch buffet. The wait staff was right there all the time for me. Asked at least 6 times if I was ok and needed anything and refilled my coffee 3 times, boom. Took away empty plates quickly. Filled requests fast too. It’s good service in my review. Place was not too busy. It is a down home family run place, locally run, by and for the locals. It is definitely in need of an upgrade in décor but then again that is true of the entire town. In it’s prime this town was a working class hero enclave and it had many good restaurants from fine dining to diners. This place used to be called Savoia’s in the old days and it was divine. That was then and Carlo’s took over just after the heyday had passed. Carlo’s just reflects what the town is now. It’s no frills, no nonsense, old school. I am from the area, I understand it. Kenilworth it is not, it’s «Da Heights».

This place is like a boxer fighting way past his prime. I’ve been here so many times I couldn’t even begin to count. From being a little boy with family to dinners before school dances and so on. Now though the décor is tired, the waitresses are bland, and the food isn’t up to par. Just so you know what kind of place you’re dealing with. no free refills on pop lol

Good Italian food. As people have stated in previous reviews, the place is outdated and the wait staff’s average age is 60-something, I still like Lorenzetti’s. We were there for a Sunday brunch and I liked their variety of food choices for the brunch. If you’re looking for«true» Italian cooking, this may not be the place to get it, but the meal will be good and the décor will give you a sense of being in 1960’s Italy.

Had a birthday part for my mom for about 35 people and they did a great job. We had a family style meal, and the food was delicious and the service was exceptional. This is definitely an old school Italian place, and I highly recommend it.

Good Italian food, but nothing to get too excited about. We go there about once a year for the Sunday brunch. My mother-in-law is from out of town and like it. the brunch is not particularly Italian, but it is tasty. The service is hit and miss, about 50% of the time it seems like we get a waitress who seems to not really want to be there.

This place is a Chicago Heights landmark for Italian dining… but has gone DOWNNNNNNNNNHILL! I grew up in the area and came back recently for a funeral. This place still looks the same as when I was a kid – 30 yrs ago. However, they must have«updated» their cooks – because the old Italian cooks that used to work here — well, they don’t anymore. DISGRAZIATA!!!

Being from out of town I looked online and this place was highly suggested. The food was excellent as i had the lasagna and it was homemade with delicious red sauce that was homemade. They also brought out plenty of bread & relish tray with different vegetables in it. This was definitely an old school type of Italian restaurant, and is the way I wish they were all like. I’m not sure if i went in at a bad time(430pm) but i got not so good service. I will say it was worth the trip for the food though.

My family has been coming to Lorenzetti’s for YEARS and we love it. We love the old school vibe and the older servers and even the glasses in which they serve real martinits. But we went here on my b-day earlier this week(New Year’s Day) and had such a rotten experience that I feel compelled to update my previous review. My husband called at 6:30 and was told that they were open until 8 p.m. We rushed over and got there about 6:50. There was a large party going on in the back room near us and lots of workers running around but no one brought us water for at least 10 minutes. We did not get a server for at least 20 minutes and wow, was she ever RUDE. She was clearly p.o.‘d to have to wait on us and did not bother to cover up her feelings at all, even though we were in a good mood and really nice to her. She threw plates down hard, handed us hot plates without warning us, took forever retrieving our orders and generally gave us extreme attitude the whole night. My husband mentioned that it was my b-day and she did nothing but sarcastically say, «Oh, happy birthday.» No dessert was offered or mentioned. I don’t know what my dad tipped her, but whatever it was was too much! What was the most hilarious was that some sort of manager asked my husband and me how our experience was at the end of the night, when my p’s were out of earshot. Why did she care then? She had been right next to us the whole night and must have heard what a b-tch our waitress was! I just said, «It was ok,» in a voice that was meant to imply that it wasn’t! We’ll be back but I better never see that little pill again!

Had the lunch buffet on Friday for $ 7.25. Upon entering I came up to a sign with the specials of the week and chop suey was on the list which I thought was rather weird since I was at an old style Italian restaurant. The buffet was ok for the price. Best thing was the clam chowder, bread and what I believe were home made croutons. The salad was decent, no wilted veggies or anything. They had chop suey with what I believe was tuna or chicken. It was REALLY hard and difficult to decipher. Other things included pizza, bbq pork sandwich, batter fish, rice and tilapia, fried rice, battered butterfly shrimp and last but not least egg rolls. Didn’t try everything but the egg rolls weren’t bad for an italian restaurant. We didn’t stop in until 1:00ish so the food wasn’t as fresh or hot.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Never had a bad meal. .Recently I have had the veal, shrimp and pizza all of them wonderfull. On Monday nights they have a small buffet for $ 7 that I think is a real value. As the post said it is old school.

It’s no small wonder that I’m the first to review this place — it’s pretty far from Chicago. But, if you ever find yourself heading south on I57 or whichever way it is that 394 goes take a little detour down Lincoln Hwy and grab some grub. Okay — so let me preface this by saying that my very favorite thing about Lorenzettis is the relish tray. It’s complimentary with every entrée and it is divine! It comes with roasted red peppers, cold peas in a parmesan butter sauce, and the best blue cheese dip on the planet! Served with warm bread and crackers. I could make this the meal. But I never do so on to my favorites dishes. Appetizers: Baked Artichoke Parmesan has a hint of lemon, is super rich and creamy. It’s served with a pizza crust like bread. The oysters rockefeller are killer. One of my dining partners from the burbs only seriously regrets her decision to become a vegetarian when these are in front of her. MMMMM bacon. Entrees: The prime rib here is to die for. Always super juicy with a nice crust and served medium rare. Any other doneness would be a sin. Served with a horseradish cream sauce. On occasion, one of the specials is a grilled shrimp ceasar salad. Grilling romaine hearts brushed with olive oil is genius. Topped with creamy ceaser which seems to just melt over the warmth of the lettuce and shrimp. Super yummy. Then there’s my go to pasta. The rigatoni al forno. OH-MY-GOD! Super rich parmesan cream sauce envelopes the rigatoni, ham, and peas. Topped with melted mozzarella that’s just browning and getting bubbly. Frick! I’m starving now! The atmosphere is super old school. I normally eat in the back bar area. There’s a wall lined with booths and a handful of tables. The lighting is super dim and everything is dark wood and walls. The library room is super adorable. Very Vintage. Service is all right. Nothing to rave about — except for one particular bartender there. I can never remember her name but she is a total pumpkin! She also works at Carlos sister restaurant, Gourmet Pizza, in Flossmoor. Review forthcoming. Seriously, if you’re travels ever take you to the super south burbs — stop in. You won’t be disappointed.
