Staff is very knowledgeable on the wide range of gear. Anything from running shoes, clothing and other gear. Plus it’s only walking distance from the metro.

3.25 stars. If you come in at the right time, staff are more than willing to help you. Just do not come in with under 20 minutes to go until close or, from the get go, your questions are responded to in a tone that signifies you are being rushed on out. I mean, we all want to leave, but realize some of us get out of work late! Other times, when I come with plenty of time to spare, employees are helpful and give good advice! Prices are decent but I would advise to wait for sales and cross check prices with New Balance on Wisconsin and go with the cheaper.

I went here this past weekend looking to buy new running shoes. He took his time assessing my gate and making thoughtful and knowledgeable recommendations. I did not make a purchase but only because I was not a fan of the colors they had available in the shoes that I liked. Would go back again!

I have recently moved to Chevy chase and was thrilled to find a specialty store catering to an active life style. I needed a new pair of running shoes and pleased they carried my brand and were so knowledgeable about the shoe. It is an expensive shoe and wanted to know about all the good points as it has recently been updated. Emily, the manager, was awesome. Her customer service skills are the best and I highly rate this store for good professionalism, quality inventory, and excellent personalized service.

First visit into CC Running for new running shoes — was thrilled with the amount of time and attention they spent with me. Even as the store traffic picked up with far more athletic runners with detailed questions, the staff managed to keep up with everyone and provide specific, personalized attention. I am thrilled with my new shoes and will be back to Chevy Chase Running Co.

Other than Brian B., I can’t picture anyone who would be excited about going through two large shipping boxes of freshly wrapped jog bras. When I found the exact style jog bra I wanted on the display but not my size, that’s when the helpful staff member started going through the recent deliveries. We started digging through boxes and boxes of bras of every shape and color calling out the numbers like it was Bingo night. 38D? Nope 38A? Nope and that’s unfortunate 32DD? Nope but I kinda wish It was close to closing time, people were coming in for their after hours running club, and this guy greeted everyone and helped me find boob holders. A+++for service. Even better they accepted my groupon a day after the expiration. I can’t help but be impressed by this store. A decent size wall of running shoes(some really high end ones where up there). A treadmill in the middle of the store to analyze your gait. Affordable accessories. I ended up stocking up on socks and body glide. Staff that are actually runners and super knowledgeable, and yet not pushy. This is my new favorite running store.

This is a great litle store for shoes and running apparel. It’s right in Friendship Hts, about a 3 minute walk from the Metro. I was in there recently to buy a running watch. They carry several brands, including the Timex Ironman series, which I’ve had before. I wasn’t so keen on paying Timex prices, so the manager(Max) showed me the Soleus line, which is about 25% less, and according to him, a reliable brand. I’ve been very happy with it and I really appreciate the manager taking the time to help me get something in my price range. A lot of bigger sports stores are staffed with people who just don’t know one product from another. The folks at this store are knowlegable and helpful. It makes a big difference. You’re not going to find running shoes slashed to $ 29 at this store. But you’ll find the right shoes for your needs that will save you big time in the long run.

Just came back from the store and had the worst experience ever. I normally don’t write Unilocal reviews because I believe that you should check a place out at least twice before placing judgement but in this case I just had to because the service was that bad. I was looking for a new running shoe and needed expert advice. I am running about 6 miles everyday and my old asics shoes desperately needed a replacement. I checked out City Sports earlier and really liked the Asics Kayano 17’s but wanted to try on more models. My boyfriend and I came in and I asked for some assistance. The store manager, Max, asked what I was training for. We responded that I wasn’t training for anything specific but run everyday for fitness and needed advice. Immediately, he gave us major attitude. I didn’t know that you had to be a marathon runner to purchase shoes at this store but apparently you do. He became curt and said, «walk down the store.» I walked down the store so he could take a look at my arch and he didn’t pay attention. He kept speaking to his coworker and checking his text messages. Then he came out with shoes but didn’t open the box or lace them he just literally threw them at me and said«Here!» We tried to ask questions to see what the differences between each shoe was. If I am going to spend over $ 110 on shoes, I want to know why he selected the shoes he did. But he didn’t answer our questions. Instead, he was dismissive and condescending. Or he’d turn his back when I asked a question and go talk to someone else or his co worker. When I wanted to run on the treadmill to see how they felt I commented that one shoe seemed lighter than the other and he snickered and said, that’s because they ARE lighter. Don’t speak to me like I am stupid and please treat your customers who want to spend money with respect. He also gave me a different shoe size than what I asked. As well the place stunk like old wet rags including the manager. We were not rude from the beginning but obviousely he had a problem with us. Maybe because I wasn’t a marathon runner… who knows! I spoke to some people who live in my building a few blocks away from this store. They also stated that service was bad and recommended several other stores in the area. So it isn’t just me. I worked in sales and retail for over 10 years and this guy was seriously an asshole. If you want to spend money on shoes or need advice, there are PLENTY of stores in DC that offer you expert advice and great customer service. If you want to be belittiled and treated with disrepect, then this is a perfect place for you. I walked out and left the shoes where they were. I went back to City Sports and bought the shoes I liked because the service was way better. Do not waste your time in this store!
