Interesting to see the low reviews… I went last night and had a fantastic meal! I didn’t even check out Unilocal first, look at me! The Caesar salad to start was awesome, my wife made up her own meal because what she wanted wasn’t on the menu, and guess what? They made it! I had the Salmon which was awesome as well! Service was great, prices were reasonable. Will recommend for sure!

I went here for a baby shower this past summer, this was my only experience here, so I cannot speak for the sit down dining. It was a nice little private room, and when I say little, it was small and there was just enough room for all of us, but they cannot have large events here what so ever. The food was really good and they served a various array of pizzas, little sandwiches/panini and other items(I cannot totally recall). The service was really great and professional. Everyone was taken care of very well and I liked how quiet the private area was even though it was not totally sectioned off(just heavy curtains). I would recommend if you have a small private event that this place would be a good choice.

I usually dislike chain restaurants and only go if I am forced. In this case I will change my word to loathe. I really have no idea how large corporations have so much money to open a chain of decent looking places that must have cost a literal fortune to construct and then they can’t put the food together. Menu is just meh and the food is just not there. A cup of oil for every dish and everything tastes the same. I think the MO Here is to open up, make a bunch of cash. I’m sure within 5 – 7 years this will be gone or change hands.

The food was really good. Our bartenders name was Scott and he was very knowledgable about the wine. We enjoy the bar/lounge life. Food was on point and service was good. For the taste price and quality it was good.

Severe mismanagement. Made a reservation for 8 pm, went to the restaurant on time and was told it would be a 45 minute wait. Then why did you have every single time slot available on OpenTable? Such a shame, I’ve been here a couple of times and would have been a regular customer. Now I know I can’t rely on this place. What’s the point of a reservation then?

These guys couldn’t find Tuscany on a map. Lasagna with Ricotta? Margherita with sliced tomatoes? Pasta Alfredo? The food came within 5 minutes from the order — which is NOT good! Did they just microwave our stuff? For sure, it tasted like. The sauce seemed just out of a can.

My husband and I have been here twice for dinner. both times I was quite pleased with my dinner. We went for Valentine’s Day of this year. and the experience was okay. It was very busy and we had to wait about a half hour even though we had made a reservation. but that is anticipated. We went again a couple of weeks ago. on a random Wednesday night. and it was great. The service was actually TOO efficient and I felt like we were in and out in no time. even though the experience didn’t feel rushed at all. Brio is a great place for a date night. but not too expensive which is nice, and there’s typically ample parking which is a plus for busy parents of a newborn(for that ONE time we got to go out without the baby).we like to park close enough in case we need to leave in a rush. Either way, not the best place I’ve ever been, but a nice place in a great location!

I’ve come here a few times for corporate lunches. It’s a great restaurant for groups and it is spacious enough that it doesn’t feel claustrophobic. That being said, I had higher expectations for a restaurant located in a high-end area of Chestnut Hill. The food was sub par, I wouldn’t give it more than three stars. I ordered the daily special which was surf and turf(crab cake with a 5 oz steak). I ordered my steak medium, it came back nearly well done. It also had a concerning iron-y aftertaste which I had never tasted in a steak before. The crab cake was delicious and moist, that was the highlight of the main dish. We also ordered the beef carpaccio as an opener– it was delicious, and a surprisingly large portion(no complaints here)! Overall, I might come again, but only if I was in the area.

Very disappointing dinner. Not only was our service slow, but also our waitress put in the wrong entrée. While they finally brought out the right dish, I was still charged for both entrees. After speaking with the manager, they were both taken off the bill. We also ordered a chocolate cake to go, only to find a hair in it once we got home. I’ve been to other Brio locations that are exceptional, this one is not among them.

Don’t know why this doesn’t have at least four stars. I came here with a girlfriend for lunch a couple months back. The wait staff was super friendly and brought us anything we needed promptly. The bread they give you is excellent; warm and fresh. We both ordered pasta dishes. I had the carbonara with spinach and chicken and my friend had a dish with sausage. Mine was delicious, a little oily, but certainly scrumptious. Hers fell a bit flat; not sure if there was even a sauce. Certainly a good, inexpensive place to satisfy a craving for Italian food.

I ordered the Shrimp and Lobster Fettuccini and was pleasantly surprised. The sauce wasn’t too spicy and there was a plentiful amount of shellfish!

We came here for lunch after a trip to Wegman’s on a Saturday. This restaurant is reeeaally big, so it looked empty from the outside, but everyone was actually just seated towards the middle. Service was prompt and quick. We ordered two pasta entrees(mushroom ravioli and pasta alla vodka), both were amazing. I really liked how they made their own pasta — just the right thickness and texture. I thought the price was appropriate for the portion size. The only small thing that I’d complain about is that our waiter checked up on us a little too frequently. Not a huge deal, but we wanted to be left alone to enjoy the food. Will definitely come back here to try their other dishes.

A meeting got cancelled so I had 90 minutes to grab lunch outside my office. Driving around, I saw the awning and thought I’d treat myself to a nice lunch. I must admit that I don’t get this place. From the décor to the service it’s all pretty mediocre. I’ll stick with my biggest complaint: the food. I sat at the bar and ordered lunch. The caesar salad I ordered with no anchovies or croutons. It arrived with no dressing either. Just lettuce with parmesan cheese on it. Weird. Next the bartender suggested the pasta with pesto. She recommended it because it contains a lot of veggies, so you doing feel guilty ordering it(making me feel a little guilty for ordering pasta in the first place). It was a bowl of grease with veggies and just a little bit of angel hair noodles. It was gross. Anyway, the place was totally empty the whole time I was there so maybe I stumbled into what everyone else already knew. I was looking forward to something good and I got meh.

I did really enjoy the three visits I’ve had here for dinner. I think Brio is trying to carve it’s own niche. It is best described as specialty Italian. It’s leagues above Macaroni grill… and don’t even mention that horrible Olive Garden. While it’s not the North End(Boston’s little Italy), it goes a step beyond the normal chains. I found the food to be well crafted, and could certainly find numerous things on the menu to try. The service here was just ok. I felt like our waiter was over staffed on tables. The atmosphere is nice here. Everything is clean and the room is wide open with high ceilings. You won’t regret a visit here if you adjust your expectations. It’s as good as chain Italian food gets. I really enjoyed my chicken dish. It’s advise you give this place a try before writing it off. The reviews are a bit harsher than it probably deserves.

Been here three times now. It hasn’t gotten any better. If Panera had table service it would be Brio. Food is amazingly average. No standouts. Nothing signature or must have. Absolute basic generic fare. Good for Seniors who may be sensitive to anything containing flavor or spice. The waiter on our most recent visit was openly rude, condescending and disapproving of my choices and requests. He didn’t like that I questioned how something was prepared. Third time was definitely NOT the charm. With so many very good dining options in the Chestnut Hill area, there’s no reason for us to be back here.

We made reservations through open table and only had to wait for a couple of minutes. I had to try the beef carpaccio after watching the phantom gourmet episode. It is huge, tasty, and filling. We also had the tomato and mozzarella caprese which was very good as well. A side salad was also very good with the steak and tomato main course. The pork chop was moist and the vegetables were not overcooked. The desserts included the chocolate cake and one of those mini cups. They liked them. Drinks were made correctly and service was attentive. There was a mix of young and old in the dining room. Noise level was vibrant but not too loud. I will be coming back.

I really wanted to love it here, but my experience was just average. Our waitress was nice but she was extremely timid and couldn’t open the bottle of wine we ordered, the cork broke in half and then fell in the bottle… appetizers were yummy, and presented well, but it was evident that our entrees had been sitting under the lights for a while. My sister ordered a filet that was completely dry, but they gave us a new one that was better. The manager was very kind and gave us a free dessert because of the issue with the steak which was much appreciated. Overall it was yummy but I expected a bit better for a place with such beautiful architecture and decorations.

I came here with a couple of friends on a whim, not really being hungry but still needing something. Brio has elements of Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Cheesecake Factory combined together, which gives it a bit of a generic experience. I ordered the spaghetti peperonata pomodoro, which was pretty much angel hair with sausage in red sauce. The sauce was okay but there was too much of it with the pasta. This ain’t spaghetti-o’s: Italian pasta shouldn’t have too much sauce. The pasta itself was a bit overcooked, as it arrived somewhat mushy. The sausage was passable but nothing memorable. My friend’s grilled salmon salad was pretty respectable. The salmon was grilled nicely and wasn’t overcooked. The only critique I have for it was that the salmon was rather salty. Service and décor kept this restaurant out of the 2-star range. The server was polite and prompt. The décor was comfortable, though some might say it’s a bit of a copy of Cheesecake Factory.
