Sandwich was decent, but not a flavorful as when I had it at the truck. Also, the sandwich I got was a little sloppy in construction. It’s not cheap food, so I would have expected a little more skill and flavor. I agree with the other reviewers who commented on the cleanliness of the place and the design of the restaurant not lending itself to good queues, dining area, and trash area.

When I don’t want to cook but want something light and healthy, Bön Me fits the bill. Hubby loves the sandwich, I love the brown rice bowls. Easy parking, very quick service(order at the counter, wait for about 2 – 4 minutes, and you’re out the door), great value(less than $ 20 for two substantial entrees and a little Deviled Tea Egg treat), and full of health and flavor. Highly recommended.

My enthusiasm here has dampened as they don’t allow you to call ahead for take out. While it is quick to serve up the sandwich on-site, the wait of all the people who are perseverating on a meal choice ahead of you can be hair-raising if you just want to pick up and go.

I was somewhat disappointed even though I finished my dinner and we did not complain about our displeasure. We both had brown rice with spicy chicken dinner, and extra meat. Dinner came in a box with lettuce on the side and carrots. With brown rice there was plenty of chicken cubes, about half & half white and dark meat. Slightly spiced with soy sauce, but the salt was overwhelming my girl couldn’t finish her dinner, for two it came to $ 22. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I was excited to try the brick and mortar version of the acclaimed food truck… beyond disappointed. 1) Tables were crumb littered, floor was dirty and there were dirty dishes where you pick up your food — gnarly. 2) It was 3pm, dead empty with at least 4 possible employees(not sure though, see below) on shift so none of those above issues should have been an issue. 3) The staff seemed like they were more interested in making a playlist to listen to than serving a [mediocre] sandwich. *One dude looked looked he was straight up wearing his pajama pants he wore to bed to work! It felt icky at best: you couldn’t tell who was an employee and who was just a random friend who was stopping by to help themselves to lunch behind the counter. 4) The sandwich I was served was handed to me in a bag– the server ignoring the stack of clean trays beside her which probably would solve the uncleanliness issue stated above. 5) The entire short, sad experience made me wonder if there is a manager? And if so, what exactly are they managing?

Just had the soup. It was so tasty and filling yet light. I could eat it probably every day. It was that tasty. The only problem was that the noodles in the soup are really long and they had no plastic knives to offer for cutting them. A plastic fork fared as a close second for assisting with that task(twirling as with spaghetti). Also they could use a coat hook in the bathroom. I’m looking forward to trying other items in the future but I may not ever get to them since the soup was so good!

What a disappointment! I had no expectations because I had not tried the bánh mì sandwiches from the food truck by that name. I had the barbecued pork sandwich. The baguette was perfectly adequate; a hybrid French Vietnamese bread, light and crunchy. The filling was almost tasteless and the pieces of pork were cut too thickly. I had to add Chili sauce to give it some oomph. The basil lemonade was good, though. The Banh mis are good at that small sandwich shop on Center Street in West Roxbury. Have it there instead.

As a fan of the Bön Me food trucks I was really excited for this location to open near my apartment. I stopped in last week to check it out and ordered my go to– the rice noodles with chicken and sesame dressing. I have to say I was really underwhelmed, I remember the food truck being much better and I can’t say I am making any plans to go back to this location anytime soon. The chicken portion was really stingy and the noodles were very clumpy. I asked for dressing on the side and the amount of dressing I was given was very small, hardly enough to coat the noodles so I ended up eating about half the dish plain. Perhaps I will give it another chance eventually and chalk this up to working out the kinks at a new location but for now I will stick to Sweetgreen next door who is reliably delicious and consistent.

Saddddd at this overall experience in the new Bön Me. The beloved food truck turned store/restaurant front does not live up to its existing fame. This location is new, and the inexperienced staff make this entire visit NOT enjoyable. 1. We were told there was no bbq pork, so we ordered chicken. All items on the board. 2. Before the order arrived we were called to the pick up area to let us know that the chicken was in actuality done, that we need to order pork. Ok. Confusing. 3. We picked up our sandwiches and the bread was disgustingly soggy, unappetizing and gross. Additionally I looked around and everyone that was eating in did not have a container for their food, people were actually laying down napkins to hold their sandwiches… What? I threw out ¾ of my sandwich and so did my husband. 4. The lime panna cotta and the Thai iced tea were also not the best. Barely no ice in a Thai ICED tea?! This is sad and a waste of money for what it is. What happened Bön me! If you want growth at the expense of quality I want no part of it.

Great sandwiches! I heard they toast the bread to perfect before assembling your sandwich. It’s always nice and toasty. The spicy mayo is a must.

I came here with my wife I believe a few days after Bön Me opened. The night we went the place was pretty dead. For the taste of the food, I would give this 4.5 stars, as the food was spot on. The Bahn Mi sandwich was so delicious. The bread was perfectly crunchy and the pork/veggies were incredibly flavorful. We also got the salad with the lemongrass chicken and it was very good. The food was just as good as the food trucks, which I have had a few times. Finally for the dessert, the panna cotta was such an amazing dessert. The panna cotta was smooth and creamy with tangy-ness from the lime and the crumble on top was perfectly sweet and crunchy making it a perfect way to end a meal. The only down side to this place was the service. The staff wasn’t super friendly and not as knowledgeable about the food as they normally are at the food trucks.

This place is just a few weeks old and there are some kinks to be worked out. The space is poorly designed with everyone crunched at the entrance to look at the menu, to order and to toss garbage when leaving. Also, there is no clear place to form a line so there is confusion about who is next. We had traditional sandwiches tonight and feel there are better versions elsewhere starting with the bread, which is not crunchy enough.
