Great atmosphere, service, and food. I got the main street melt and it was very good. Everything we ordered came out exactly as we asked. I would definitely recommend stopping in here if you’re in the area.

We shared a classic tuna melt on rye toast with a coffee milkshake. It came with chips, a pickle and slice of watermelon. Hit the spot!

Stopped in for lunch with friends. The cranberry walnut chicken salad sandwich on sourdough special was quite good and plenty of it. The side of potato salad was on par with the sandwich. You have to try the warm apple caramel pie a la mode. It’s worth going just for that! The friendliness of the staff makes it that much more enjoyable.

Casual setting with ice cream(what could be bad) and a variety of salads, sandwiches and meals to satisfy everyone in party. Service is always friendly, and don’t shy away from the specials. We had a modified Ruben that was ridiculously good!

Came in for lunch and ice cream. It was busy so we shopped around in the gift shop for a bit before we got seated. Excellent food and the ice cream was the perfect end to the meal. The servers were very friendly but it was very busy, and they probably could have used some extra hands. Overall, awesome place and excellent food!

This ice cream parlor is more than just that. They have souvenirs, gifts, candy, and food. We stopped here after a wedding to satisfy my craving for ice cream and it did just that. The ice cream is from Hershey’s and tastes homemade. The atmosphere is fun and reminiscent of an old retro pop shop. They have ‘penny candy’ and other unique gifts. The two girls who were on staff were extremely friendly and helpful in giving directions since we are from out of town.

Visited on 8÷11÷2014 Cute little place on the main street(ha!) that runs through a town that you will miss if you blink. This place has obviously been here for years, and is full of both old signs and even older photos. Very lively atmosphere. The food was so-so. I had a club that had some very tasty mayo on it; I believe it was dill that was mixed in. I had ordered the cole slaw, but apparently they ran out. I found out by noticing macaroni salad on my plate and when I asked the waitress she recalled that they ran out of cole slaw hours ago. I had also requested no cheese, and the club was delivered with cheese. I attribute the lack of attention-to-detail to the business and multitasking the waitresses were responsible for, as ours disappeared for a good 10 minutes while she attended to a group that came in for ice cream. As a result she was tied up at the counter. My wife also had a dish of ice cream that was tasty and plentiful.

Best place for a burger and shake, though the menu has a good variety of choices. Been coming here for years and haven’t had a bad meal yet. Still waiting for them to add fries to the menu though.

The Main Street Ice Cream Parlor used to be located down the street. But as their popularity(for their food, ice cream and gift shop) grew, so did their need for more space. And then the landlord wanted more money. So they picked up and moved on down the block. They haven’t lost any of their charm by moving, however. This is a true old-fashioned ice cream soda shoppe. You can order anything your little ice cream heart could desire. But don’t just come here for dessert. They serve a wonderful lunch and have an extensive gift shop upstairs.

We were driving to Canada and thought about stopping for lunch after we passed the Saratoga Springs/Lake George region. We decided to take a chance and exited in Chestertown with the hopes that Main Street would have something yummy to offer. We were tempted to stop for pizza but wanted something more substantial, so we kept driving and ended up stopping at this homey yellow building. The staff was friendly and service was very prompt. We ordered the the pumpkin lobster bisque soup, the turkey special with grilled local vegetables, and a corned beef sandwich. It was all very tasty and well priced. I think this will be our new pit stop.

So, the Southwest Burger, a half pound of fresh ground loaded with peppers, onions and provolone, was done to medium with a small dish of jalapeño Mayo. It was very good. Even without the chips, pickle and lettuce/tomato, it was a pleasure to indulge in a moment of greasy decadence in this little corner of the Adirondacks. The shake was just as good as on the way north.

This is the real deal in the Adirondack Mountains near Brant lake. A small local café with someone in the kitchen who knows how to make a perfect sandwich. I had the amazing BLT tuna-melt one day and a glorious Reuben the next. Our large family was at a nearby«retreat/camp» for a family wedding and the place was overrun by our family and friends– about 100 folks. Everyone had great food and the kitchy nature of the décor is right for the space. The teen waitresses did a great job keeping up. Ice creams looked amazing, but alas I was full! If you are in this ‘hood– 4 hours north of NYC– GO here.

We were nearby for a weekend wedding and came over twice for lunch. We kept seeing other members of the wedding party. This included toddlers, small children and big kids. The food was great. The Reuben rocked! The bacon chowder was delish. S.U. had a BLTuna melt that she couldn’t stop talking about. Even when they were slammed with customers, they did a great job. No complaints, lot’s of smiles and full bellies. If I were driving by on the freeway, I would pull in for any meal.

Stopped through this town looking for a place to eat. Since there was only this place and a pizza place, we figured this cute little 50’s style ice cream diner would work. The décor is kitschy, and the staff very friendly. I had the sandwich special, my mom had the mushroom barley soup and sister had the chicken sandwich. Everything was super yummy. For dessert we had ice cream and pie. Delicious. Within the diner is a large gift shop. It was a great place to stretch our legs and fill our tummys after driving for 6 hours.
