WOW! Café Adirondack was simply wonderful. We dined here for dinner this past Saturday night at 8pm. The place was packed so we suggest making reservations before. Our table was ready for us right when we arrived and the amicable hostess led us there. We didn’t realize it was a BYOB until we got there and saw other tables with alcohol of their choice, but we know for next time. Our waitress helped us order an appetizer. She suggested the she-crab soup in a crock to split. We are so happy we went with her suggestion because it was delicious. Super creamy, thick, and filled with crab. Both entrees came with salad(a generous portion) and bread. The bread was accompanied by a parsley butter. The salad had tomato, cucumber, croutons, and onion. For entrees, one of us ordered a salmon special — topped with crab and served with rice and a veggie medley on the side. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Another entrée was the chloe’s chicken with a side of chloe’s fries(instead or rice/veggies). The chloe’s dishes are a customer favortie(the menu said). They are adorned with ranch, bacon, cheese, and tomato. Both entrees were HUGE so we were able to bring home leftovers. We were WAY to full to even think about dessert. Can’t wait to come back with a bottle of wine and try a few more dishes out! So impressed by the quality of food and fantastic service.

I have been here at least 6 times this year(I obviously like it). The service and dinners are outstanding and reasonably priced. I have had the Bang Bang shrimp and ahi for appetizers and they have been probably the best I have ever had anywhere. By the way, this is a BYO, so no bar. I would have given them 5 stars, but I am very disappointed with the vegetables that are served with most of the dinners. Very ordinary, I actually think they maybe frozen. They look like it and taste like it. I am very surprised for a restaurant serves this caliber of food.

I absolutely love this place. It is our favorite place to eat in the Adirondacks. You need to know:***reservations are a MUST! Too many people know about this wonderful place. Also***BYOB. They do not have a liquor license. The meals come with carafes of lemon and cucumber water at the table. They have delicious varieties of fresh bread and herbed butter. Salads come with the meal as well. They will open your wine and provide glasses with no corkage fee. The Bang bang shrimp and She Crab soup are outstanding for appetizers. I always have trouble deciding which to order. The dinners are delicious! I haven’t had a bad one yet! Filet mignon with lobster claw, chicken Marsala, shrimp scampi, chicken Parmesan, mushroom ravioli, to name a few. And the service has always been friendly and efficient. Try it!

It’s always worth repeating up front, this is a BYOB/W since they do not have a liquor license. With that out of the way, we had a party of six that arrived for their 5 o’clock opening since we were planning on attending a play at the Seagle Music Colony later that evening. While others in our party brought wine, I brought a bottle of Ursae Majoris Oud Bruin Ale from the Jolly Pumpkin brewery. My wife had a cup of the She-Crab soup($ 4.50). Just as the menu promised, it was rich and creamy with lump crab and sherry. My wife gave it a thumbs up, and I agreed. I started with the Asian Dumplings($ 8) — six dumplings steamed with Thai vegetables, topped with ginger soy wasabi sauce, diced tomato, and scallions, served over fresh spinach. Another delicious appetizer. Our entrees came with complimentary side salads and fresh bread. I had the chunky blue cheese for my dressing and it had good sized chunks of decent blue cheese. I never bothered to try the bread on this visit since I wanted to make sure I had room for my entrée and I thought it was only OK on my last visit. Speaking of entrées, I had the Sea Scallops($ 23). There were 12 medium sized broiled scallops, mildly seasoned, served over a bed of fresh spinach, with drawn butter on the side along with seasoned rice and sautéed vegetables. The scallops were perfectly cooked and tasty. The rice and vegetables were just average. But I ate everything on my plate and was quite satisfied. My wife ordered the Grilled Salmon($ 22). There were at least 3 or 4 good sized pieces of wild salmon, nicely grilled, with a cucumber-dill sauce on the side, and the same seasoned rice and sautéed vegetables that I had. My wife believed that the veggies were actually previously frozen, but I couldn’t tell. My sister ordered the Petite Seared Tuna($ 17). It was 4 ounces of Ahi tuna steak seared to medium rare, sliced, with a wasabi and ginger soy sauce on the side along with a plain rice and the same sautéed vegetables once again. The Ahi tuna looked beautiful and my sister said it tasted delicious. A couple of desserts were in order to finish off the meal. I ordered and shared a Peanut Butter pie while I believe it was my sister who ordered and shared a Bread Pudding, I think with blue berries. My peanut butter pie was light and delicious, bringing back memories of the best peanut butter pie I ever had when I was in Bradenton, Florida at a café run by an Amish family. The bread pudding had a consistency like I’d never experienced before, but that was not a bad thing. It had lots of flavor and was moist. Service was very attentive, with water glasses being refilled, and our server available whenever we needed her. They even had a pair of reading glasses available at the hostess’s podium for one in our party who was having difficulty reading the menu. The value here is very good. We split the bill for four in our party and it came to $ 33 a person including tax and 20% tip.

BYOB. Decent service. Pretty good food. Had the chicken parm over fettuccine – fettuccine was a bit undercooked but otherwise tasteful. Liked the look of the place– all original hardwood floors. Had a cool vibe to it. I’d go again.

One of the worst meals in a long life! Food is below even the low standards of the north country. Before you even take a seat take a look at the bath room in the back… then think about the kitchen, just scary. Best part of the meal, the wine, yea, I bought my own.

Excellent would not be enough to describe this restaurant. The food is ample and delicious, the service is right on, and the owner appreciates your business. Prices are quite reasonable for a tourist area. Reservations are a must in season. It is simply the best in the area!

I chose food over wine and I never do that! You absolutely need to go to Café adirondack with a empty stomach. Appetizers are fantastic, especially the bang bang shrimp. The soups are divine. The she-crab and tomato basil are simply delicious and cannot be missed. Go for a cup the crock is simply too much if you plan to have a entrée. The entrees too are great and everyone in my party was very happy with their meals and then it was time for dessert! I had there key lime pie which was fantastic. Well worth the calories! Susie was out server and she too was attentive, friendly and provided a great experience. This place is very unassuming from the outside. What is lacks in curb appeal it makes up for in food and service! We make a point to dine here once a year during our annual trip to Lake George and will be back! A true hidden gem in this region.

We tried to eat here August 24, 2014. Unfortunately, the directions in Unilocal are ALLWRONG! When I came off the Northway I followed directions to the intersection with Route 9. Unilocal directions state the Café is on the immediate left. Wrong! We understand the location is excellent so I’m advancing my rating to excellent based on friends who found the place w/o Unilocal directions.

AMAZING, I almost don’t want to review it because I don’t want reservations to be harder to get! Seriously I haven’t had a bad meal here yet, been there a few times. Heck my grandmother had no complaints… that’s unheard of! Been coming up to the area for 30 years and just found this place two years ago, safe to say it’s the best kept secret in the Adirondacks!

Reservations are a MUST! Request the dining room as the porch is quite bright. Its’s very quaint, and Jessica, our server could not have been any more awesome! All the staff were happy to be there. We completely agree that come for the appetizers and soup. We could have skipped the crab cakes. But DONOT miss the Bang Bang Shrimp however. A cup of The She Crab Soup is ample to share due to how rich it is and the tomato basil soup is as well. The Chloe Fries are a must share.

Very nice people-waitress friendly and efficient. She Crab Soup is great. Bang Bang Shrimp is delicious and the size of the portion is ridiculous! Entrees good but not great. Chocolate Kahlua cake fantastic. Would definitely recommend this restaurant as one of the best in the area.

The food was fantastic, I had the salmon, my partner had the seafood platter. We also shared an appetizer of shrimp. The portions were absolutely huge, too much. I was surprised it tasted so good considering the size of the portions. Bring your own wine and enjoy the décor. We loved it.

First of all, this place is VERY popular. Make reservations days ahead of time or take your chances, but it’s almost guaranteed: no reservations, no table! Open Wed. — Sun. as of July, 2012. Excellent food and lots of it, nice staff, great atmosphere. Not cheap — dinner for 2 cost me over $ 80(about 4 trips to McDonald’s!) — but if you’re in the area for a visit, you definitely should try to eat here at least once.

Wow, been going there since they were at the Wells House. You will find nothing better in the north country and hard pressed to find better in the region. Staff is fantastic. Food is unbelievable. BYOB and they will uncork and pour for you. She crab soup to die for. Chloe’s fries a must try at least once. Never have been disappointed. I have brought many friends here and they continue to return. A north country treasure. Enjoy it…
