It’s a beautiful store. The exterior looks like something out of a European children’s christmas special. I half expected to find some magical old lady behind the counter imparting some cryptic piece of advice that would launch a fantasy adventure of some kind. Turns out the clerk isn’t old, but she does appear to be somewhat magical in her knowledge of books, and the fantasies those books can launch in the reader.
The interior features beautiful old oak cabinets that stretch floor to vaulted ceiling, a simple Victorian era design, very clean, warm, well-​organized, and spacious.
The prices are reasonable, and the selection is pretty intense– everything from dimestore novels to transcripts of conferences that took place 200 years ago. The prices beat amazon, and the variety of topics is extensive.
