Hadn’t had hibachi in awhile so I was pleased to eat here. The portions were a bit small compared to some other hibachi places in the area, but delicious nonetheless. Tried a piece of california roll my mom got and it was very good. We started with shrimp tempura. Though I know it’d be quite good if I could find the perfect sauce-to-bite ratio, I failed to do so and after eating several bites far too rich, I ate it plain which was quite bland. I gambled on the beer menu, which had two Japanese beers on it: Sapporo and Asahi. I was disappointed that my choice of Sapporo said«Bottled in La Cross, Wisconsin». Some research told me that Sapporo itself has a plant there, but I was bummed out having wanted a ‘true’ import. Good place, and it enriches the Chesterton restaurant scene quite a bit. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the low portion sizes for the price.

Heard about the hype on this place for a very long time! Finally decided to give it a try with my friends. I ordered the Philadelphia roll and the Chesterton roll! They were absolutely amazing, i wanted more after I finished. The service was very good too, my glass was never empty of water!

Our family loves sushi, and we are always seeking out great new sushi places. This place is awesome. Their rainbow roll, unagi handroll, salmon rolls, and shrimp/vegetable tempura appetizer were so delicious, fresh, and melt in your mouth yummy. We saw the Unilocal reviews and thought«it can’t be that good»…but after eating there, it certainly is a great place!

I am not a fan of sushi, but my fiancé is. This has become his favorite go to place for it! I always enjoy their teriyaki when we go – it’s delicious! & their miso soup is best that we’ve had. It’s always clean inside & the service is always great! No complaints & we’ve been here numerous times!

Two words… Tuna Dynamite!!! Sooooo good. We have become regulars and really enjoy their sushi. I also think they have some great miso. Everything always tastes super fresh and they have a good array of maki options. My only complaint would be their«spicy» could be spicier. They are very nice when I ask for a little extra sriracha or some extra wasabi. :) I’ve had the hibachi only once for lunch and the vegetables really were cooked perfectly. They are a small business and are getting to know their customers. I appreciate the fact that they know me when I come and let me have«my» table each time. I like that kind of service and attention. They are trying out some new rolls so I can’t wait to taste more in the future.

This place is awesome!!! Holy cow!!! Had the chicken pad Thai noodles and it Is better than P.F.Chang’s. Really it is. Everything else looked excellent too. The other customers were blown away also. Fresh is the word, super fresh, and dessert is incredible. Get here before 630pm if your coming for dinner. It gets busy. Come on over you will not be disappointed. The service is excellent, attentive with out being bothersome. They rock.

Having lived in Japan for 10 years, we were anxious to try Musashi out. Went there for lunch, and were pleasantly surprised! Try the Gyoza, it’s the best! Will do again!

I finally tried this place out. Verdict: very good. I prefer the smoked salmon pieces, so I order 6. They were a bit thinner than I’ve tried elsewhere, but they were tasty. The rolls I tried were also delicious. I was happy to find that they now serve a staples-only alcoholic beverages, including Sapporo. It’s about time chesterton got a sushi spot.

Love this place. It’s been a lot of different restaurants and from the looks, the food, and the customer reception it will be here for awhile My recommendation is to have a sushi tasting night on your slow night. A one price per person and you get a piece of everything. A piece of paper with all of them listed and you can mark down your new favorites. When I come here, I want to try so many but can’t order the whole menu. Another suggestion is to have a Facebook page.

Finally a Japanese restaurant in our little town! I’ve gone weekly since they opened and was always very happy with the sushi and everything else. It’s quite comfortable inside and now that they have their liquor license, the place is just right. Maybe a little less TV(or maybe show old movies) would be good. Decent pad thai also for those who don’t like sushi.

What a cute restaurant! It’s small, but homey and welcoming. About 15 – 20 tables? Has sushi and hibachi. Selection of everything was perfect. Sushi was fresh and tasty. The plate was even decorated cute! Will return.

We ordered both sushi and hibachi. When you take portion size, taste, and cost into consideration, I will not eat there again. The sushi was decent, but the hibachi was awful. The adult portion for the hibachi dinner is pretty equal to that of the kids size, and was definitely not worth the $ 4 extra dollars spent. My $ 53 bill for two adults and 1 child(and only ordering water) was money wasted and would have been better spent elsewhere.

Based on food quality and value, this would be a 4 star sushi place almost anywhere in the country. Because it’s in suburban NW Indiana which is normally a deadzone of cuisine, and conveniently located right off the highway on the way from Chicago into Michigan — it arguably deserves five stars.

This place is great, kinda small serving sizes though. Very very delicious. I’ll be back. Word of warning if you are just getting sushi you might want to try a couple different kinda due to small sizes. With drink and food cost about $ 12 a person. Very worth it in my book. Guest service is great.

I“m surprised and impressed that such a restaurant has come to Chesterton. The interior was classy, suggesting traditional Japanese imagery but thoroughly modern. The place was busy and buzzing. There was table seating and it looked like there was a bar to sit at as well. It being a Lenten Friday, I had the seafood udon, and my friend ordered the pad thai, and we shared an order of the tuna roll. My soup was very tasty and I thought the sushi was fine. My friend thought the pad thai was excellent, but she wasn’t impressed with the sushi. Overall, the service was good, though I suspect that our server was new and/or their still working out the kinks in their process at this brand new restaurant as it was a little slow. I’m definitely pleased with the food and my experience, and I will be back!
