We’ve been coming to this restaurant several times a year for the last 7 years, everything from a quiet dinner for two to groups of 8 plus. We really enjoy cooking in the fondue pots and our favorite style of broth us the Mojo. Recently the menu seems to have changed and is not as good as it was several years ago. The amount of foods and options seem to have been pared down. The beginning cheese fondue and the wonderful chocolate desserts are the highlight. Next time we may skip dinner and just come for appetizer and dessert. The staff still does a great job.

Needs a lot of attention for your service with the price you are charging. The meal starts with some misunderstanding. We are from out of town and didn’t realize there are two locations of melting pot, so we made the reservation at the wrong location. The lady at the door handled it okay, but not professional enough. I made it clear that we just want to eat and we glanced over the place saw plenty space open, yet they made it sounds like it’s so full and needs lots of reorganizing to make feeding us happening. So we sat at the bar for drinks. 6 bucks for a non-refill lemonade? I didn’t think twice until I saw the check, woof… The actual food service was mostly prompt. This is basically a very expensive and fancy version of hot pot. Something like the couple across our table would go for a date for. Oh wait the couple before us had a pair of loud and annoying youngsters. I am in no mercy of new born baby because you as a responsible citizen should not force your child’s discomfort over other paid customers. The whole experience is alright. By the way the whole place is like a god damn maze and it’s impossible to find the restroom then return to your table. We waited a good while for the waiter(who wasn’t terrible) to pick the check up. One thing did bother me was a lady came by and asked us was it awesome? Please don’t assume your restaurant is awesome because that is a very arrogant thing to think yourself of. Straighten your service up!

My whole family went for a Sunday dinner. All nine of us had a great time. The best part of the meal was the opening cheese fondue. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, I think it is worth a visit, but I would consider this a once in a rare while spot.

I have been to the other location many times and had nothing but wonderful experiences. Sadly the same can not be said for this location. Where to begin: She didn’t explain anything to us. It would have been nice for her to take her time and not make us feel like a bother. Our server splattered liquid in my eye and never really apologized just went and fetched the manager which was nice but still would have been nice to hear it from her. Our drinks were always empty. She never smiled or was friendly. Took forever for her to check on us. I’m not a complainer. But when you spend this kind of money and time, you want a great experience. So at the end I went and spoke with the manager and he didn’t say much either. Very unhappy.

Favorite restaurant. Been here several times; it’s our anniversary place, since it’s pricey. Yes, you can cook your own food at home, but they do all the extensive prep work, and I know I can’t make anything like they do. The only cooking you really do is the entrée – everything else is just dipping. Experience is almost perfect every time. Service can be slow at times, but this isn’t a place you go if you want a quick meal – it’s a full experience. Delicious dessert fondue(though they stopped including a slice of cheesecake with it) and wonderful sauces for the entrée. We’ve purchased a bottle their teriyaki sauce more than once. Servers are always knowledgable, polite, and friendly, and they give additional quantities of certain items upon request. When we do the full 4 courses, we’re always completely stuffed. We’ve been a couple times just for dessert, too.

Went last night. So much fun! We had the 4 course meal. It is a little pricey, but considering you are there 2 – 3 hours it’s not bad. The waiter did not rush us and everyone was super friendly. We had the all beef platter and it was delicious and the dipping sauces YUM! Here is my suggestion when you eat there. Eat your meal out of order. Eat the main dish first. It is the most expensive part of the meal. Then eat the cheese portion then dessert and finally… Ask them to pack your salad up to take home. You will be too full.

I visited this location before and was delighted with the experience, I even bragged about it to my co-workers and family. I went back tonight and tried something new — the cheese fondue was still delicious. I ordered a new entrée and was completely disappointed! The quality of steak was poor and it ruined my entire appetite. I cooked it for the recommended time and yet it still came out raw. Then our waiter John disappears for 30 minutes, I wanted to order the chocolate fondue… but by the time he returned to our table, the food had already settled. I spent over $ 50 dollars tonight and I walked out with a bad taste in my mouth. We will not be returning anytime soon!

I’ve been here several times over the years. I adore the fiesta cheese and classic chocolate. I am always stuffed once I leave. Although prices are a little steep it’s always fun and the food is so tasty. Always a great go-to place for special occasions.

For a 2.5 hour meal, the price is actually pretty good. We had the four course deal and three alcoholic drinks and spent around $ 100(with tip). The food was good. Nothing mindblowing, just good. The service was really good. Even when our waiter was busy elsewhere there were roving bussers and the like that were more than happy to bring an extra water to the table.

First time for the wife and I, the atmosphere was intimate, locations ok coming from the burds. The staff was very nice. If you can get Rafi, he is awesome, very nice very helpful, made it an awesome night for us. Did the GF4. It was great. Spent $ 120.00 for a wonderful date night with my wife. We’ll be back. It would be good if you had kids, but it’s very nice just for two.

Guhhh… Melting Pot… y u no have cheesecake anymore? :( It had been ages since I last came to this location. In fact, the first time I came here was to celebrate my BF’s birthday in 2013. I should have written a review then, but forgot… my bad. But we went again a few months ago and while the experience wasn’t bad, we both really wish they hadn’t made a corporate-wide decision to nix cheesecake from the menu. Bawww. The cheesecake is what really made the dessert for us! Alas! Also it kinda sucked because even though we had a reservation, we had to wait about 35 minutes for our table, maybe longer… I wasn’t timing it, but it was a long freaking time. They had empty tables too… but prolly just not enough waitstaff to man all of those tables. The manager apologized to a group ahead of us(presumably they had been waiting even longer) but not to us. Oh well. Lastly… protip, if you and your S.O. do not eat very much, just get the four course meal or w/e it’s called but just 1 serving of it, and split it. Wayyy more affordable and less wasted food. :)

What a great place for friends and family. The food taste really great service was nice. The location is good. The only problem is be prepared to stink after you leave the restaurant. It’s a fondue place and their ventilation sucks! If was not the case I would’ve given them five stars

I went to The Melting Pot to celebrate an anniversary with my boyfriend. We both eat a gluten free diet, one due to restriction from Celiac disease, and the other by choice. Our visit was very relaxing due to the romantic atmosphere and the helpfulness of the staff. The waitress was very understanding of our situation and helped us get fondues and dippings(meats, fruit, etc.) that were gluten free. Everything was delicious and great fun. I wasn’t «allowed» to see the check, so I can’t comment directly on that other than to say that it is an expensive restaurant. Even so, The Melting Pot is a wonderful place to go for the occasional celebratory meal. I look forward to going back someday!

Husband and I came here for our first wedding anniversary last year. The atmosphere was very intimate and perfect for a date night. We had the Big Night Out, so we were able to try a little bit of everything. I had never done fondue before and was a bit nervous about possibly eating raw meat, but the server provided very clear instructions on how to prepare the food. It was very fun and I will definitely be returning, if not just for the desserts, which were amazing!

So, I wanted to get a group of my girls together for a happy hour at the Melting Pot Chesterfield. And not just an happy hour, but we were going to bring our gently used jewelry to donate to a women’s charity.(I work with a jewelry company). I saw that their website allows large groups, so I called 2 weeks in advance to reserve a couple of tables. I was actually turned away! Because it would be «disruptive to the other customers». Whaaaa??? You are going to turn away 20+ amazing, professional women that want to donate to a charity AND would be buying ALOT of fondue and drinks… just because we are going to be bringing in jewelry? Very shocked and disappointed. Looking for another place in Chesterfield if anyone has any suggestions.(May 30th at 5pm is the date we are looking for)

Thank you Melting Pot for making our first Christmas Eve in St Louis extra special! The husband and I got to spend a couple of hours with Teen and Tween unplugged talking and sharing a delicious meal. And we didn’t have to shop for it or cook it. And they didn’t have to clean up after it. This may have been the best idea I’ve had all year — okay, I stole the idea from another Mom but I made the reservation and can therefore claim credit. We started off with a friendly greeting and were seated at a table that was to my liking(I’m picky about where I sit.) The server explained the concept for the benefit of Teen, who had not yet dined there so we wanted her to have the full experience. We ordered their special cheese fondue, which was a beer/bacon/cheddar. Tween and I were lukewarm on it, but ended up being it’s biggest fans. I liked that you could taste the beer and she loved the quantity and quality of the bacon. Salads were individual but I joined Tween in ordering the caesar. It was a true caesar(meaning anchovies) with candied pine nuts added. She and I were both skeptical of this but the extra sweetness and crunch worked well. We went with the traditional broth based on the diversity of the entrees we ordered. The Husband and I went with the Pacific Rim selection of Asian-inspired meats(and pot stickers), and our two little carnivores went with the steak lovers plate. They devoured it like piranhas on a cow, so it must have been good. Mine was delicious but I don’t like duck and didn’t really care for the dumplings. This was a good thing because I was running out of steam and wanted to be able to eat dessert. At the end of the meal, I think there was one dumpling and a lonely piece of duck breast left on our platters. We all really enjoyed experimenting with cooking times and trying all of the different sauces. The girls were having so much fun that they weren’t distracted by their phones, which is a miracle for a Tween and a Teen. For dessert we had the Yin/Yang — it’s white and milk chocolate in the shape of Yin/Yang with lots of delectable little yum yums to dip. My two little waifs who, so far, had eaten roughly their body weight in food gobbled this down like it was going out of style. This place is pricier than what I would want to spend on an average night out, but it was a really memorable way for us to spend a special occasion and might be on its way to family tradition status. Next time maybe I’ll plan ahead more so we don’t end up eating dinner at 3pm — it was okay though, because we could come home and still have an evening and we ate enough food that we didn’t get hungry again…

Christmas Eve dinner with the family was a little better this year than most! No elaborate preparation, no last-minute trip to the grocery store, no dishes — just a great restaurant, great food and great service! Tomorrow I am smoking a ham but today I didn’t have to lift a finger. We started with their seasonal beer/bourbon/bacon/cheddar appetizer. I found the beer flavor a bit overpowering but that was fine because it kept me safe as the wife and kids brandished their fondue forks with reckless abandon and the entire dish vanished right before my eyes. Nothing but snapping & grunting. Salads came and went but I had mild food envy when I heard the next table’s salad choices announced and something involved burgundy and shallots. I must have missed that choice. Kids both went for the trio of steaks. Wife and I both opted for the Pacific Rim — pork, beef, duck and a couple of dumplings. Everything was delicious and we managed to cook the various bits perfectly. I’m pretty sure my favorite was the duck paired with their sweet & sour sauce. We finished up with the yin/yang dessert. I was lobbying hard for the turtle offering but lost. Oh well — what we had was pretty good also. Final analysis — one leftover dumpling and one leftover piece of duck. Everything else got demolished… all four courses! What a great place for special events…

I always like the Melting Pot, hard to go wrong but it is a place where service makes the difference(it was excellent this visit). They had changed their selection process since the last time I went and it was easy to just pick one fondue while others were doing the 4. I had out of town friends I was meeting a few hours later for food also and wanted to be able to eat with them. Cheese fondue(loved it), spinach and mushroom salad(pretty decent) and premium dippers(not bad but probably pass next time). It proved to be a great place to get a group of 13 together for a surprise party. Taking 3 hours or more for all course is not unreasonable if you like the people you are with. Always fun for me.

This was my first time experiencing the Melting Pot, I must say I am in love. I recently purchased a groupon that I plan on using with my boyfriend, but the Chesterfield location hosts Ladies Night Out! Great excuse to go out with the girls. If you have not been here before, our GPS did not take us all the way, it showed us to get off of 141 then we were there. The Melting Pot is around the back of that initial strip mall. Our evening began very well, but eventually we just got annoyed. The server was very friendly and informative about the courses and how our dinner would proceed. Eventually the courses slowed to a turtle pace and we just wanted to get the check so that we could go, but we were in an enclosed seating area and never saw anyone pass by at all. Overall I loved the food and I cannot wait to use my groupon at the Delmar location. Hopefully we will not get forgotten next time.

I love this place. I don’t even care if people hate chain restaurants or not, but this is my favorite place to eat — period. This is probably because it’s expensive and I only go once or twice a year, so the novelty doesn’t really ever wear off. It’s also a commitment to eat there. For a full 4-course dinner, I’d be prepared to be there at least 2 hours. Having a smartphone to time how long you cook the meats is also pretty helpful to make sure you don’t cook it too long or not long enough. I’ve only been to this location one time. The service was great. I had made reservations and we had to wait about 5 minutes for the table when we arrived, but I can overlook that. This place can be hard to find, too. You won’t see if from the main roads. It’s on the inside of the little plaza facing the other direction. We always get whatever the 4-course special is at the time. It’ll usually give you your choice of cheese fondue, a salad, a dinner with a little bit of everything, and dessert. It’s a lot of food. It doesn’t visually seem like much, but I feel about 20 pounds heavier when I leave. I might actually come back here more often just for dessert. If you like chocolate and haven’t been here… well, I’m sorry.
