The Teavana in Chesterfield Mall is fan-freaking-tastic!!! I walked in 2 years ago wanting to drink healthier but not deprive myself of excellent flavor. I was greeted with the most outgoing of personalities from the most unique individuals. Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable, they don’t try to push you into buying things you don’t need, they never rush you and the best part they let you smell the wide variety of teas from their wall. I never feel overwhelmed or unappreciated when I go in for more tea. I highly recommend everyone visit this store. You can even use your Starbucks card!

I am new to tea, and decided to purchase my first tea infuser and tea one night while shopping at Chesterfield. I left the store very angry and upset, and feeling like I had been taken advantage of… OVERTEA! Seriously, how does that happen? The girl I was dealing with was very pushy and kept trying to upsell me on items… even tried to sell me a freaking overpriced teaspoon claiming that was the best way to measure their product! I went in there knowing what I wanted due to my boyfriend owning The Perfect Tea maker and a certain blend of tea. She also spent a fair amout of time showing me different tea kettle sets(the very expensive $ 100+ ones) after I repeatedly told her I didn’t want one of those. She talked fast and kept throwing different products my way trying to sell them. In the end, I left with two large tins with VERY little tea in them(really? filled them all the way up the first time? come freakin on.) and the longer I thought about the experience, the angrier I got. I felt like I was shopping for a used car. I may try buying the tea there again, but if I have the same experience, I will probably end up losing it in the store. May have to only shop online, but I’d have to question if I want to give my money to a company who has their stores run in such a manner.

Zero stars, is that possible? I was angry when I walked out the door. I will never step foot in that store again. Rude and pushy employees. The manager who originally started to help me, couldn’t finish the transaction. She ordered the sales associate to check me out. He was extremely rude when I kept turning down add-ons. Also, I wanted 3 different 4 ounce tea leaves. All 3 portions were over 4 ounces and asked if that was ok. Finally I said no and it seemed like it was the worst thing that happened. I asked for 4 ounces, not 4.6 or 4.8. Next time, I will try West County and if I have the same experience there, I will just order online.

Love the store and the concept… hate the constant upsell and pushy employees… I just want to buy my tea without you trying to sell me something 5 times while I’m in there trying to check out!
