I made an appointment for free LASIK consult. I gave my date of birth when I made the appt. they did a full eye exam on me, and at several times during the exam I said I was only there for free consult. It wasn’t until it was all over and another doctor came in and told me they do not do LASIK on anyone over 55. They charged my insurance and made me pay a $ 35 copay. This was supposed to be free. Also, if they do not do LASIK on anyone over 55, why did they make an appointment for me? I am so angry and upset over this. A total scam

The doctor and the exam went great, very professional… the problem is when the bill(s) arrived. I went to Pepose for dry eye evaluation knowing it was out of network for my insurance. I was told the initial visit would be a charge of $ 130, got a bill for that amount and paid it. Almost 2 months later I got a bill for an additional $ 348, a total of $ 478 for the visit, more than triple the amount that I was told. The fly in the ointment was being charged for a new patient full eye exam($ 228) which never happened. Feels like a rip off to me, needless to say, I plan to never return to Pepose. My advice is to ask about«additional charges» that we’re not mentioned to me, prior to deciding to make an appointment.

I really like the dr’s at Pepose, they have treated my son and have done so with such great care, skill, and professionalism. My family will only go there for our eye care needs — Thank you!!!

My youngest son has been after me for laser eye surgery for two years. I thought his eyes were too young, him being 18. Now that he’s 20 and some 5 months, we went. We were told this would be a three-hour appointment. I was equipped with plenty of reading material. We walked in, registered, paid, and sat. For about two minutes. He was taken in for the review to see if he qualified for this surgery. When the evaluation was concluded, I was invited back for the other processes that needed to occur. Every step of the way was explained with precision. All post-surgery appointments were made on-the-spot, with appropriate cards for reminders. When we went into the examination room with Dr. Pepose, he was gracious and professional, performing eye examination and the final determination that my son was, indeed, an appropriate candidate for the surgery. As it went, this three-hour appointment took just two hours! Kudos for under-promising and over-delivering! The surgery was scheduled, and I didn’t have to hear too much about the particulars, because I would have heaved!
