Don’t get salads here. I have gotten salads from here twice and they are not fresh. The lettuce today was soggy and wilted. The subs are good, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Been in there many times. Food is always fresh and delicious, customer service has always been outstanding and the place has always been very clean. The sandwich selection is impressive and the hot sauce bar is awesome. I also believe I’m getting good value for the money spent. Will be going back and back.

Great place for me and my work crew to go to during our lunch. They are fast and efficient. Get my orders right and They have the attitude that makes you want to come back. The food is delicious and filling. Not too greasy or sloppy and the subs are big. But manageable.

I was in the area and late for lunch. It was after 2 p.m. Not many people in the house. Makes sense. My order-taker was very helpful in describing the offerings. And she told me her favorites. .. always a good thing. They’ve got: 10 sandwiches 6 sandwiches under 500 calories 4 chopped salads under 500 calories 4 Kid’s meals Make your own! I decided to start at the beginning, so I got the Hook & Ladder: smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham and melted Monterey Jack(~$ 7). Served Fully Involved, which means mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, mustard and a Kosher dill spear on the side. I ate the pickle first. It was divine. Then I got into the sandwich, very slowly. It was delicious. The bread was soft and cushy fresh. The meats were fresh and flavorful. The lettuce and tomato offered good crunch and flavor. I know, it’s a sandwich shop. And in that category. .. it’s stupendous. I ate the whole thing and wasn’t hungry until well after 9 p.m.

can I get that without BBQ Sauce? Yes you can ok then i’ll order that but with no BBQ sauce the total is(insert price here) 10 minutes later got the sandwich drove back to work got my sandwich out and… you guessed it… swimming in BBQ sauce gave the sandwich to a coworker… I HATEBBQ sauce… that’s why I ordered it without BBQ Sauce. then again, no big shock. The staff making sandwiches all looked new with a trainer trying to keep an eye on them all at the same time… well ya needed another trainer because my sauceless sandwich was swimming in BBQ oh the bread was soggy because of the nasty BBQ sauce the staff was rude, the cashier was fine and she did enter the order correctly I checked the receipt… Never again, I wouldn’t eat at this place again if it was the last sandwich shop in Missouri… GROSS hire a staff that can read and«NOBBQSAUCE» means don’t put a ton of BBQ sauce all over the sandwich… is that so hard?

Really good food. However, the staff was horrible. My first time here the girl taking my order was very rude. Did not greet me or say thank you or anything. I was a little confused on the menu and the veggie selection and she rolled her eyes and acted annoyed at my questions. Even though the food was good I can’t say I will be back because of how uncomfortable she made me feel, wich which’s staff is always so friendly and helpful so will continue to go there instead.

Best sub I’ve ever had. Good bye subway! Extra meat great sauces on the regular subs. So many choices. Love the salads as well. I’m not a fan of hot sauces but anyone that does, would be thrilled with all the choices you’ll have

Firehouse Subs is always a good meal. Their meat is Boars Head, which is a quality lunch meat sold at local grocery stores. The bread is fresh, and I enjoy how they heat their sandwiches! My only advice is to eat the sandwich fairly quickly, or refrigerate it, because the warmth of the sandwich can cause it to become soggy.

Friendly. Ample seating. Cool new ‘fancy’ coca cola soda dispensers. Broad menu. My friend who works nearby likes this spot. Okay, we can go here for lunch. Food is fine, but not remarkable. A little pricey, but probably not out of line for the neighborhood — SmashBurger is priced similarly for a lunch experience. Dining area is not as cool as SmashBurger — and, I like how SmashBurger has a little ante-room at the entrance to prevent gusts of cold air from bursting through the restaurant. I’ll be back, as it is an A-OK option. I did not see the health related concerns noted by Robert G.

Stopped in this location for the first time but second Firehouse visit. Great service as with the other location and amazing sub! This time I tried the guaranteed meatball, I didn’t test the guarantee. Piping hot and delicious! The smokehouse brisket is still my favorite but I have a few more to get through. My only complaint is they are a little pricey but the food is worth it!

For me, it’s a 5, my son it’s a 5, my friend it’s 4. I loooove the hot sauce bar, and we all had great sandwiches. It’s destined to be a hang for us, no doubt! CLEAN. Customized sammies. Super friendly staff. And we love the soda machine with all the choices available.

My first and last visit to Firehouse Subs consisted of a disgustingly dirty dining room, a long wait(not sure why the place was empty), and a slimy, salty, just plain disgusting sandwich. Will definitely not be back.

This was my first visit to this location and one could only assume that they would have a system that works. Let’s start with the basics, you walk in and there is food sitting on the counter(eye level) where people standing in line could touch it, sneeze on it or who knows what else. Then you have to get to the ordering cashier to be able to read the menu. The print is so small and positioned in a place that you can’t read it while your in line waiting. Then the signs that are up don’t help because they aren’t used! I ordered a NY Steamer and I specifically asked the cashier does this sandwich come fully involved(which means loaded lettuce, tomatoes etc) and she said yes. After 20 minutes I finally get my sandwich and it didn’t have anything but meat and bread. So I take it up to the counter 10 different people walk by me but never asked if I needed something. Obviously I did since I was standing there with a sandwich in my hand. The cashier finally comes over after 5 – 7 minutes I asked her«I thought you said this sandwich comes FI? She asks me to wait she turns and talks to someone who seemed to be in charge and he makes a comment that in no way made me feel like a customer. Then she walks away from the register and starts to put the condiments on a tray. Never saw her was her hands after handling money and with 5 – 7 people on the sandwich line not one offered to put the items on the tray for her. She had to basically go around each one to get the toppings. TOTALLY ridiculous and the worst customer service I have ever seen. Food takes to long for what they are serving. The ordering system is a mess and the«dispatching» system is horrible. I understand that growing pains are expected but the curve is going to hurt the return customers. If this is the corporate profile someone needs to contact them and adjust the system before you lose all your customers.

I love Firehouse Subs. It’s my go-to sandwich place in Knoxville, TN and it’s my go-to sandwich place in Chesterfield, MO. It would be my go-to sandwich place now that I live in Sacramento, CA but they keep ignoring my requests to open one here! Things I’ve learned from my hundreds of visits here: 1) The sliced meats(turkey, ham, etc) are better than their meatballs. I am a meatball lover so don’t take this tip lightly. 2) The white bread is sooo much better than the wheat. Go ahead, be unhealthy. You’re already here. 3) The sandwiches somehow taste better when you eat them in the shop than when you take them home. They also have the fabulous 1000 way coke machines(probably not its official name) which are awesome. And they say«Welcome to FIrehouse» whenever someone walks through the door. And you can get buckets of pickles. I don’t like pickles but I’ve heard they’re good people who do like pickles. And little kids(or overly excited adults) can get a plastic firemen hat.

Steamed meat & cheese away from the bread makes for a more interesting layered sandwich.(Not toasted on the bread or nuked like other places) The variety and quality of hot sauce was actually shocking. I heard«I would not put that out for general public to try» from a man that really is into hot sauce. The sandwich itself was great. The steaming brought out the flavor of the meat & cheese without adding any other flavors or chewy texture(like nuking). The toppings were fresh. The place is firehouse themed and I could see being fun for bringing in kids… BUTKEEPTHEKIDSAWAYFROMTHEHOTSAUCE!

Went to the new Firehouse Subs on Clarkson for lunch today. Good stuff! I believe it is the best sub place I have been to in St. Louis. The two reviews that are already on Unilocal summarize it nicely, but I’ll try to add my own thoughts without just repeating theirs. Décor is all firehouse-themed, of course. Adds a nice touch, without being overbearing. Prices are typical. I think it was about $ 5.50 for the sub, $ 7.80 for the combo — bag of chips and a medium drink(32 oz, not that it matters when you dine in and can refill). I ordered the New York Steamer(corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing). My wife ordered the Hook & Ladder(smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted Monterey Jack, served Fully Involved). Fully Involved = mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a dill spear on the side. You can get it for any sub, but it apparently is standard for certain ones. I decided not to go fully loaded for my New Yorker. Meat is nice and thin, piled pretty high, also high quality. Toppings were fresh and generous. Bread was also very fresh and still soft after being toasted/warmed. Subs are served warm. Both sandwiches tasted excellent. I particularly like the meat quality on mine, along with the mustard/mayo/Italian dressing flavor — slightly sour/tart. There is a large selection of hot sauces that you can use to put on your subs. I passed on this. But it is a neat idea that sets Firehouse apart from other sub chains — and it ties in with the theme. You choose your own bag of chips, and they provide a pretty wide selection. The soda machine is a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine that offers 120+ choices. I went for caffeine-free diet coke with lime, but it was empty! bummer… so I got the caffeine-free diet coke with vanilla instead, surprisingly tasty! With only one machine, and the place getting pretty busy, I thought that the freestyle machine would be a choke point in the process. But the line moved quickly, and you have to wait a couple minutes to get your sub brought out anyway. So it wasn’t an issue.

Good stuff! Fresh bread, good meat. Service is good also. Neat décor with all local«stuff». Prices are also very competitive.
