Checkers

Did the drive through a few nights ago. As I was ordering an employee walked out of the restaurant shirtless, passed by my car, and started peeing in the bushes while I watched in disbelief.
The guy hopped in a white Grand Am afterwards.
This Checkers is still awesome, but I won’t be going if I ever see that white Grand Am parked out front. Major turn off. Only one bad experience to a dozen good ones.
Oh. And there’s this girl that works the drive through window that sometimes has hickeys on her neck. That girl is WAY too old for hickeys!
Step up the class game a little bit Checkers.

Finally … a Checkers near me. I remember liking Rally’s when I was a kid, but I rarely went there, so it’s nice to see a Checkers just down the street. This Checkers replaced the Hot ‘N Now that was there (I wasn’t crazy about Hot ‘N Now, but it sucks that it closed). I’ve already been here twice: the first time I went I got the Bacon Roadhouse burger, and the second time I tried the Spicy Chicken sandwich.
The Bacon Roadhouse burger sounded like it would be great, but it just wasn’t. The bread didn’t seem to be sourdough like the description claimed it was, the bacon was almost all fat (which made me take almost all of it off), the «crispy» onion tanglers were mush and I forgot they were there until one fell out, and the BBQ sauce just isn’t very good. It’s edible, but I wouldn’t get it again — very mediocre. On the plus side, the burger wasn’t bad.
The Spicy Chicken sandwich promised «all white meat» chicken … yeah, I guess it is, but it’s bits of chicken, rather than a single «premium» piece of chicken. Call me crazy, but I don’t like chicken of the «McChicken» variety, like this one is. It didn’t taste too terrible, and there was actually a SLIGHT bit of heat, but I’d much rather get a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy’s instead.
The fries at Rally’s/Checkers seems to get a pretty bad rep from a lot of people, but I’m not sure why — they’re seasoned fries like the ones at Arby’s, they just feel fattier, saltier, and aren’t curly. I wouldn’t say that they’re my favorite fries, but I think they’re pretty good either way.
While I was mostly thinking about giving this a 3* rating, I bumped it up an extra star because the prices at Checkers are actually really reasonable, and the menu has a huge selection. Several varieties of fries, shakes, loaded potatoes, a fish sandwich, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches… did I mention chicken wings? Of course, there is also quite a number of different burgers to choose from.
If you haven’t had Checkers or Rally’s before, you should visit.

Even as I am trying to cut back on fast food, I had to come and see how this location is doing as it is its first day being open.
It is a VERY small location, but the staff was pleasant and very helpful. As I am watching my caloric intake right now, I didn’t eat here today, but will def be back so onto give them some business.
