Meh. The service was really poor. My husband I both got mixed up orders. We won’t be back for mediocre food and poor service. There are to many other options in the area.

The level of service and attention here is incredible. The Chicken Maidera was perfect. The sauce was not overpowering and the cheese and mushrooms were the perfect topping. Other party ordered pick 2 with filet & ribs. They were also outstanding. There was an inquiry about the ribs and the manager quickly came to the table and another set of ribs was ordered. This was my first time at this restaurant and I am very impressed. The depth of the menu offers something for everyone at a variety of price points.

The food is decent, like all 54th street locations. Big portions, good prices, and large strong drinks. I’ve been to this location multiple times. I will say that yesterday when i came for lunch, the service was sub-par. My mother and I had to wait a long time for everything! I had to ask for lemon for my tea not once, not twice, but THREETIMES! Not the best experience, but I’m sure that I will return and ideally get better service next time.

Well… the waitress was good. That’s about it. We ordered two hamburgers, medium.(They supposedly wouldn’t do medium rare). One came out medium rare and one was well done. The garnishment of lettuce(wilted) tomato(small and shriveled) and pickles(dry) was unappetizing. A glass of wine tasted vinegary, and the Long Island Tea was much too sweet. Bread and butter was an extra charge. All in all not a good food experience.

I work in Illinois and I eat lunch at the Edwardsville 54th Street specifically the soup and salad, quite a bit. 54th Street Grill is consistent and has a good menu. The service at the locations I have tried has been impeccable. I tried the Chesterfield location for lunch today and they haven’t failed me. When you get the all you can eat soup and salad, you also get a small loaf of freshly baked bread and honey butter. The honey butter is so delicious. It is technically all you can you can eat, but the first portions they serve are pretty big. My favorite is the baked potato soup and the summer blend salad. My coworkers get other soups and salads and everyone loves to go back here.

Love their food but not cool to wait 15 minutes for a table simply because they can’t figure out how to clean them. Plenty of other restaurants to choose from in the area if this is how they’re going to run the place.

Had an excellent lunch with my family. My wife loves the gringo dip. I had a meal with gringo dip, toquitos and some fiesta things. All was good except the fiesta things, not my cup of tea. Waiters did decent as usual, waited a little on drinks. Loved sitting in the outdoor section.

I’m totally not a fan of bar/grills but when I’m invited out to dine I sometimes have to take 1 for the team. 54th Street Grill & Bar did me proud. I gave our server, Leah the 411 on my demands and even apologized prior to ordering(just to see if I’d scare her away) and she took it like a champ. She was so pleasant and assured me it would not be a problem at all. My chicken(plain) arrived dry and a bite tough but nonetheless, it arrived plan and grilled just as I had requested. My asparagus were also dry and a bite spongy but nonetheless they had no butter or seasoning just as I had requested. Those darn sweet potato fries arrived piping hot, seasoned to perfection and delicious just as I had suspected. Overall, I appreciated the effort put into making my food like I asked. Was it perfect… NO but it was edible and the service was great. All is fair in love and war, ~Christy

I’ve been to this location dozens of times in recent years. It’s convenient, reasonably priced, and usually enjoyable. When the sweet tea is fresh, it is quite tasty… increasingly, however, the tea and other items taste as if they’ve been sitting for a while. This has always been a restaurant I would rate as a «solid four» and yet a great deal has changed in the last 36 hours. After a weekend of absolute misery, on Monday my doctor diagnosed food poisoning. The only food I consumed on Saturday was at this restaurant, and that was the last I had until just now. I’ll spare the gory — and I do mean GORY — details, but this was the worst case of food poisoning I’ve endured in 25 years. On a brighter note, this was the fastest ten pounds I’ve ever lost! Maybe they should test market a line of diet products… I don’t always believe every claim of food poisoning I hear, but in this case there is doubt with regard to neither the condition nor the cause. That all I had were nachos with beans and cheese(no meat) makes this all the more frustrating. Really? All you had to do was keep the food fresh and hot… but it was after ten, you(I am now speaking directly to the cook) were ready to slack off, you didn’t want to change out the refried beans and hot cheese that had probably been sitting on a burner since noon. It wasn’t that you were unaware of the risk of food borne illness, I suspect. No, you just didn’t care. Some of my colleagues had already stopped coming to this location because of a perceived decline in quality. If only I had followed their lead before this nightmare! I’ll be sure avoid this location in the future… You know, if I had been a fragile individual with a compromised immune system, you could have landed me in the hospital… or killed me. Do you care? What if it had been your elderly family member who consumed that rancid fare? Again, do you care? Without launching into well-deserved profanity, I suppose I just don’t know what else to say.

I’ve been here four times since my last review. I’ve got it down. Get 20%-off coupon in the mail. Requirement is that all patrons in your party order a beverage. I get an 8-oz. cheeseburger(Monterey Jack) with lettuce, onion and tomato, and skip the bun. Broccoli or another vegetable offering as the side. Take half of it home, and I’ve got two meals. The servers are tremendously friendly. And you can get a go-cup of your beverage. It’s good food and reheats well.

We waited 10 minutes server never came. Manger sits at host desk with his thumb up his butt. Their attitude is they don’t care. We git up and left.

I enjoy this place but I think it’s a glorified sports bar with a large selection of food, but poor selections for healthy eaters if you go I would suggest salads or sandwiches many of the dinners are not my favorite due to the seasonings or the sauces but it has a generic ambience with different yet refreshed choices very comparable to a Friday’s or an Applebee’s…

54th Street sent out a mass mailing of those little bar-coded plastic discount cards. It is really just a coupon, but probably works better because it is easier not to lose it and somehow you tend to think of it as a credit card. Whatever the psychology, we actually did use it and if it had been on newsprint I think it would have gotten pitched. You should also take note that this is a Grill & Bar, not just any old ordinary bar & grill.(When I open my place it will be called«Possessive Ingredient’s Grill, Bar, Eating, Drinking, Brewing and Provisions Establishment Company».) We went on a Saturday for a lunch burger while out running errands. I did not expect a lot. It just looks like another big cookie cutter chain, and in fact it is, but we did have a pretty good burger here. I started off by lying about having been there before. I did not want to have to take their orientation class. We also skipped the Gringo Dip they are required to push. We each ordered our burgers and Cokes. Ms D had a cheese burger on a pretzel bun and I ordered the Devil Den burger which is supposed to be spicy. Our sides were chicken tortilla soup, steamed vegetables and I ordered an extra side of slaw. Ms D’s burger was 6 oz, mine was 8 oz. There was no identifiable difference in size, but they were very good. They were juicy and properly cooked, with a little salt. I used extra wing sauce on mine along with what they apply. This was not a beer lunch for us, but we noticed that they do have some craft beers and could see going back for a beer and burger on occasion. As to the sides we had… I liked my slaw(but see update at the end). It is diced and although they felt the need to add green onion, it is not excessive. The dressing was not too sweet. I applied some more of the wing sauce and enjoyed above average slaw. I recommend that you give the ill-conceived chicken tortilla soup a miss. It is thickened for some reason and pretty much just paste. I think you can stand a spoon up in it. The steamed vegetables were actually fine, seasoned with some pepper and garlic. 54th Street is a full menu American restaurant. I can’t imagine going for a steak or ribs, but I guess people do. It is also«envisioned(as) a place that would appeal to both the dining and the bar customer within the same facility but also offered the kind of quality food and drinks that exceed national chain competitors.» I just don’t see this as a bar-crowd place. It is too much of a family place in suburban strip-mall land with families, unruly kids and lots of seniors. Nary a hipster in sight, certainly not at our table. Our service was hit and miss. I had to ask three times for my side of wing sauce that is supposed to come with the burger. But I liked my burger, will probably get another one, since we have one more of those plastic discount cards and you can’t just throw those things away. Update — Second visit in July, slaw was mostly green onion. It was inedible and indeed, I could not eat it, did not eat it. Burger was good again. Almost predictably, they were out of the beer Ms T chose. That coupled with the hideously onion-y slaw makes me want to knock off a star. for now I will let the burger save it.

Get the El Perfecto Margarita, the Cajun Chicken Philly and the Fries with Gringo Dip. Yes, it’s alot of calories, so cut the sandwich in ½.

I have been to many different 54th streets and never had service like this one. The waiters take forever to refill glasses or take orders. Even when it’s slow, they’re not attentive. They have a tendency to act as if we are intruding on their evening and it’s a hassle to ask for more water. Last time I was there for happy hour, my girlfriend landed at 9 so we went straight there and the waitress accused us of lying and tried to tell us that we got there at 8(before the specials.) If the Gringo Dip wasn’t so delicious, I wouldn’t ever go back.

A-OK is probably how I would describe it. I came here twice during the happy hour specials. The appetizers I tried, such as the wings, were good but did not stand out as one of the better places for wings. The beer specials at night were decent. It is quite crowded unfortunately, I’ve been here twice and both times it has been pretty packed. However still a good place to go chill, watch the game, order some beers and appetizers if your first pick place to go is full. Worth trying out

Let me start off by saying, I wanted to love this place. I did all the stone work on the outside and I wanted the food to make me proud that I had something to do with it. Stayed at a Hotel within walking distance so we decided to come here for a couple late night drinks. We sat at a table in the bar area. We told out server we just wanted drinks and possibly an app later. Waited 15 – 20 minutes before we were given a chance to order drinks. No menu or nothing. Should of just sat at bar. No less than 6 servers walked by our table while we were waiting. Drinks were $ 5 each and tasted good. Not horrible. Came for dinner the next night. Short wait and then we were seated. Early to arrive, about 5pm. Person seating us asked if we wanted a high top seat? Not sure what that was so we just asked for a booth. I’m not chef Ramsey so I don’t know restaurant lingo. Waited a bit and then we met our server. Server asked us if we wanted chips blah blah blah. She spoke so fast we couldn’t understand. We said no out of instinct and ordered some tea and soda. When she came back we asked her what she had said and she said chips and pesto. Not sure what that was but she didn’t explain if it was an app, came with meal or what it even was. We said no thanks but we didn’t want to say no to the bread because it looked really good. She said the bread doesn’t come with every meal. That was end of conversation. 10 minutes later she took order. I ordered the 25 oz bacon wrapped filets with a baked potato and Caesar salad. My wife had the blackened chicken fettucine with veggies. My salad came first. 4 bites and it was gone. Some other server I never saw brought it. Next came our food. My two steaks looked like the small hamburgers at Mcdonalds. I wish I saw them before they were cooked because it is impossible they were 5 oz even with the bacon and extra toothpicks. Very small and thin. My overly huge baked potato was served with it but they put chives on it which I asked them to leave off. Of course, this was brought by an even different server. I complained and then 5 minutes later my original server brought it out correctly and said they messed up in kitchen. I didn’t believe her. My wife’s fettucine was good. Had great flavor but the veggies were huge. Had 2 mushrooms the size of a kids fist and a carrot as big as a kids something else. My wife had no idea the veggie would have been so plentiful or she would of ordered something else. Not a huge veggie lover. When she ate 100% of the fettucine and sauce there was enough leftover for the server to ask if we wanted a to go container. No thanks. $ 45 was the bill for average food and poor service. Me, being a nice guy(not even sure who I was tipping at this point) I left a $ 11 tip and instantly regretted it. We will never be back. I’d recommend going to IHOP instead. The server we had there was annoying but he gave me everything I wanted and I knew who my tip was going to when I left it. By the way, my meal did come with bread but the bread didn’t come with a knife. I asked about the knife and my server said this isn’t like outback. We don’t stick a knife in the loaf. She ended up bringing me another set of silverware. I guess I am too demanding that I didn’t want my wife’s knife that was cutting through the chicken and fettucine to be the same knife she used to cut a slice of bread.

Had a couple of friends out for the day and stopped in this restaurant as several others I’m the area were closed due to the holiday. Place was very warm and welcoming, the menu had just change but a load of options to pick. Our server was right square on with making it a great experience! We had a variety on the table from onion rings, pretzel and cheese to the chips and cheese for starters, then the main course came with an taco platter, ½ chicken fried with mash potatoes and gravy, two different salads– all was yummy! Great job to this team!

Had the express to go on 1.11.14. You can call ahead and they bring the food to your car! Order is always accurate. Got the triple stacked club with waffle fries and gringo dips. The sandwich is tasty and I dip it in the gringo dip! The fries are delicious with seasoning on the fries and the cheesy goodness of the dip. The fried chicken salad is tasty. It’s iceberg lettuce with cucumber, tomato, carrots, eggs, cheese. The honey mustard dressing is delicious. I think they used to include croutons, didn’t see them this time. The fire chicken strips is average. You can get grilled chicken too. Solid meal.
