It’s closed, says there is going to be a new Thai food place instead. Just a heads up to people.

I have been coming here for a while and have never been disappointed. Their food is FRESHFRESHFRESH and the restaurant is bright and clean. I ordered the Gang Gai and the mushrooms were large and plentiful, as well as the peppers. The chicken was perfectly trimmed, the rice was moist(this the ONLY place that does not serve hard, dry fried rice) and the sauce was sweet, spicy and flavorful. The soup was flavorful with wonton, and not swimming in salt. Believe it or not, Mingfa proved that egg rolls don’t have to have leathery skin! I will be coming here again!

This area of 21 Mile and Gratiot is like Little China. There are at least five different Chinese restaurants within a ¼ mile radius. Ming Fa in a bit more expensive than the rest, but it is definetely worth it. Their kitchen is spotless and the food is very consistent. I like my Almond Boneless Chicken with a few sides of hot oil… marvelous!

Used to be one of my favorite chinese places in town. Sadly, they switched owners and I will not be returning. Food quality is below a mall food court. It’s sad to lose such a wonderful place to eat…

I stopped in for lunch today. Only then did I realize it was under new ownership. Ordered the Szecuhan Chicken(see picture). Some comments are in order. First, I liked the food served here by the old owners. But I’m not surprised they couldn’t make a go of it. Servings were large. I’m guessing food costs were high. This lunch was smaller in size, understandably. But the fried rice was some of the smallest grain rice I have come across. And it was salty, appearing to be soaked in soy sauce. It was also very plain. Typically fried rice has bits of vegetable and meat. This was only rice. The chicken was not spiced at all, which was totally unexpected. A very orangy sauce, but not sweet. Maybe mustard added in. Bottom line is an lunch that was meh at best. Sorry guys.

We’d heard this Chinese restaurant had changed hands in months past and decided to try it again. Waitress barely spoke English, new menus with some Thai food, but doubled prices. I ordered vegetable egg foo yung and it came slathered in some sort of meat-flavored gravy that was so thick and starchy as to be inedible. My husband’s Pad Thai didn’t look like ANY pad Thai he’s ever eaten — he said the sauce was sweet, not spicy at all, not a bit Thai-tasting. Presentation was pretty, though. Waitress asked if «food ok?» and I told her mine wasn’t and husband complained about his as well. She disappeared into the fod, there was a barrage of Chinese spoken, and she never reappeared until time to give us the check. You could hear a baby crying in the back of the restaurant, too — sounded just plain unprofessional. Never an offer to replace food with another dish, an explanation as to why there was a meaty sauce on the clearly-ordered as vegetarian egg foo yung, nothing. And it wasn’t even cheap. I left my plate pratically untouched, my husband ate about a quarter of his. They should have replaced or comped our meal — or at least had the chef talk to us. We won’t be back. I wish I could award no stars.

My favorite chines place in Chesterfield. I recommend the orange chicken and the pan fried dumplings. They also have good spring rolls. The Sweet and Sour chicken is really good too.

Wife ordered Almond chicken and it came without ALMONDS. When asked about the Almonds, they WILLNOT put the almonds on it. TOO many people with Almond allergies.
