I’m sure the wine side is better, but unless you want to buy old, skunked beer, don’t buy buy that here.

In New York — stores that sell wine and beer do not sell liquor. Stores that sell liquor do not sell wines and beer. So… when I’m in town at Kent Island, MD for a weekend trip, I see a shop called The Winery, which sells wine, beer, and liquor. I was ecstatic! I’m currently into Craft Beers and the BF is into liquor. Perfect. Tried some new beers here — Purist Pale Ale and Old Chub Scotch Ale. YUM! Great selection. Thank You!

This is the place along US50 and Kent Island for a large range of wine selections, from bargain brands to Italian brunello. They now offer growlers with six taps of usually excellent beer selections. You can create your own craft beer six-pack — great way to try different beers and get some variety. With free beer tastings on Thursdays 4−7pm and wine tastings every Friday 4−7pm is a great way to expand your beer and wine experience. Staff is friendly and quick to make recommendations. Get on their email blast for exclusive updates and specials.

This is a beautiful shop — huge and has the whole ‘new store’ feel to it. I went on a Thursday night and it was relatively slow. I was immediately greeted by the owner(I think he was the owner), who made a quick nice conversation(how are you, etc) and then asked me if he could help me find anything. I was looking for beer and he walked me over to their craft beer section. It was pretty large and had beers I’d never heard of before. They have a feature where you can create your own 6 pack with the craft beers. They provide you with the little 6-pack beer box and have shelves of beers that you can insert yourself. The owner was very helpful and stood with me for about 7 or 8 minutes telling me about any beer I asked about. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely patient. When I was paying he mentioned that they would be having music and a wine tasting the next day(Friday) and encouraged me to come. It’s too bad I was only in town for that day, otherwise I definitely would have returned. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to wine and beer store — they have ridiculously reasonable prices and people who know their stuff!

The Winery is an awesome local shop. They stock a wide selection of beer, wine, and liquor and they offer a lot of unique items you may not have thought to try.(Alcohol-infused whipped cream, anyone?) If you are looking for a wine you can’t find anywhere else, come here! I have had good luck here. Check their website for upcoming tastings. I have been to several of their Friday evening wine tastings and it has been interesting to learn new things about wine and try out things I wouldn’t normally try. Eveyone on the staff is very knowledgable and can steer you in the right direction if you’re uncertain of what to get. Don’t be scared away by the $ 100 – 200 bottles of wine. They have something for every price point, including some of my favorite $ 10 bottles(Alamos Malbec & Ponga Sauvignon Blanc). If you’re buying a case they offer a discount. They also stock a small selection of olives, meats, and cheese, including locally produced cheese from Chapel’s Country Creamery in Easton. The Bay Blue is amazing!
