On our way home to RI from Killington we stopped for some sandwiches here and we were pleasantly surprised. They have an extensive, original list of sandwiches with some classics as well. There is also multiple delicious homemade bakery items. They also serve Von Trapp beer which was awesome. All in all this was a «very great» experience.

We’re local and have been coming to Heritage for years but today’s our last visit. Came for a lunch date with mom and we were shocked by the changes. Heritage has lost its friendly, inviting and food-loving atmosphere. We’ve been disheartened by the rapidly deteriorating food quality, options and atmosphere but now find the customer service is dying too. The girl at the counter was incredibly nice however the cooks flat out refused to make a dietary change to a sandwich that my mom required. Felt like as customers we were bothering them. Headed next door!

Happened to be driving to Rutland and stopped for a breakfast sandwich. Has Browns were nasty tasting. Breakfast food less than appealing taste wise on June 15th … But they had a cake that caught my eye lemon cake, raspberry filling. It was like 10am I bought the whole cake we still had to reach our destination and drive back to MA… I want to drive the 150 miles one way for another one. Amazing! Stick to pastries, skip the sandwiches!

On the expensive side for a Vermonter. Over $ 12 for a sandwich and a bottled water. Sandwich came with a pickle. No chips. The prices are to take advantage of the tourists to the area. There appears to be a lot of changes since the last time I stopped here.

I’ve been a long time customer always stopping by 2 – 3 times when I’m visiting Vermont, we recently went this past weekend, this is our favorite breakfast spot but this time around we were very saddened that there inventory lacked a great deal of choices for drinks to pastries. The breakfast was not as good as it had always been. I suppose they are transitioning cooks or new ownership. But we weren’t 100% satisfied as we always were. Hope this helps to get it back to where it was.

Excellent place for breakfast or lunch and outstanding baked goods. Our favorite spot when in the Chester/ludlow area. Great menu and all items are very well done.

Would get 5 stars except for the fact that lunch was pretty expensive for Vermont. Pretty much NY prices but I’ll pay for it because food was delicious.

Finally stopped here after driving by hundreds of times. Had the meatloaf wrapped in bacon special sandwich. It was delicious, very fresh. The potato salad I wasn’t crazy about, potatoes could’ve been a little softer and could’ve used some more spices or flavor. The whoopie pie was delicious, I would prefer it a bit fudgier though, a tad cakey for my taste. Would definitely reccommend this and wil be coming back again.

This is not for the food but the fact that they charged me 15.00 $ for a sandwich that said 8.95 on the board and a small bag of chips. The attitude was just disappointing.

Travel has a marvelous way of surprising — i would not have expected to have some splendid green tea with cinnamon at an off the route 103, small establishment in a tiny little town in Vermont — they made good on those english roots! Granted that I went looking for this establishment based on a local tip, but pulling into the highway driveway, being one of only 2 cars parked, and seeing an ice cream menu in winter to greet, I must admit I had second thoughts. But the nice country interior, a hearty french toast served with a side of friendliness made the slight detour worthwhile! Heritage is a nice stop for a food or sugar fix — loved the selection of their teas. Feels a bit more diner than a bakery but why bother with pedantic details on a vacation grub spree?!

I was coming to this bakery for years, loved it. But a few years back I believe it was sold. For the last several years when I drive through VT I always stop and give them another try, and it hasn’t been good. The pastries are no longer made in house, they taste mass produced at BJs or Costco or something. They have more of a restsurant presence now so to be fair possibly the restaurant food is really good, not sure? I have been disappointed too many times here won’t be stopping in again unfortunately. Pastries way over priced and not home made.

Stopped in the early morning on our way to Killington to grab breakfast and a cup of coffee. Lots of delicious looking baked goods and a large sandwich menu. Got two breakfast sandwiches which were really good. Several different coffees to choose from but I got the regular which was just okay. Overall was a good experience. Cool little spot to hit along the way to boarding. Will definitely go back.

I used to love this place. Not sure if they changed or I did, but there just aren’t any healthy options. Eggs are very greasy, there is a strong smell of industrial frying oil, and there are no light breakfast options like yogurt, fruit salad, etc. It would be nice to see some fresh squeezed juice as well.

Just ok. Stopped here for coffee and a snack on the way home from Okemo. The brownie was a good size and everything was reasonably priced. The sandwiches offered looked pretty tasty, but we didn’t try them.

Stopped here on a Tuesday on our way home from a long ski weekend. I had the rueben which came with a bag of lays and pickle and my fiancé had a pastrami on rye. We shared a cup of Vermont cheddar ale soup and took a peach blueberry cobbler to go(huuuge portion). The place is cute, had jewelry and pottery by local artists for sale. Also sold beer and wine. Staff was very friendly. We will come here again.

Good satisfying food after skiing or trekking in the cold. Had the special Ruben and was quite good. Don’t expect extra stuffed NYC style but bread was nice and hearty. Sausage cabbage soup was tasty but too salty. Couldn’t finish it. Lasagna was good — not great but satisfying. Yes, pay right after ordering otherwise the line to pay will be out the door if you eat first. We list 20 min just waiting to pay.

Amazing breakfast place. The banana bread French toast was delicious as was everything else. You have to eat here if you’re in the area.

I’ve come here a few times and each time I have left amazed. The first time I got a portabella sandwich and the last time a black bean burger. All the ingredients are so fresh and deli-ious! We also had to have the chocolate bomb… which was so creamy and decadent. Wish this place wasn’t 3 hours away!

I had the Eggs Heritage, which was eggs benedict, but you know, named after the restaurant. It was very good. Admirable hollandaise. I tasted bits off the plates of those around me — delicious tender pancakes that did not at all resemble sponge. Blueberry muffins that took to butter very well. Decent capuccino, hot chocolate out of a machine, but it wasn’t bad. Excellent cinnamon-y french toast. Our party of twenty landed on the one cook and one clerk one Sunday morning, and they did an admirable job taking care of us. They have a wide selection of house made bakery goods, salads and grilled and cold deli sandwiches. You order at the counter, they bring to the table, you bus your own table at the end. A great comfort for the weary, damp camper. I’ll be back.
