Benson’s Wine Bar

I was invited to a graduation party at Benson’s Wine Bar. Plenty of parking across the street on the bank parking lot if you don’t want to park on the street. This is a great remodeled clothing store turned wine bar. A small grand piano was in the front window. A fireplace was to the right side of the bar. High tables and small seating nooks lined the sides of the building. The bar is on the back wall. They had about ten beers on tap and a few Guinness in bottles and cans. The wine list was four pages, I found a nice Moscato. They do not offer food other than a cheese and sausage plate. They do have menus of the local restaurant’s, and they deliver.

The best and classiest place to have a drink for a long way from Chester. After living in Chicago for several years, I can say that Benson’s would fit right in with almost any bar I’ve been to up there. I definitely think most people would be surprised to see a bar this nice in a small town.
They are open Thursday-​Saturday nights and have live music every Friday and Saturday. There’s a good selection of wine and craft beer, and they also have some snacks to nosh on. Because they don’t serve food, they welcome people to bring in outside food. After a few drinks, a lot of people like to order pizza and have it delivered directly to the bar. Lots of comfortable seating (couches, etc.) and they have two TVs if there’s a game you want to keep an eye on.
The owners have done a fantastic job with this place, and, if you’re in the area and looking for a place to have a cocktail (or 2 or 3), you definitely need to check it out.
