One of the best pizza restaurants in the area in my opinion! All their pizza tastes great, awesome prices too!

I went to Pops last week around 2 in the afternoon and ordered 2 slices, and while I was waiting, I watched the guy that makes the pizzas try and kill a fly(I couldn’t tell if he succeeded or not) with a water bottle. This was on the table on which he makes the pizzas, he swung the mostly empty bottle down on to the table right in the middle of the flour or cornmeal that is used to round out the pizzas on. I hope he didn’t kill the fly because he made no attempt to clean the table and went right back to talking to the 2 girls that were in the back room with him. Needless to say I asked for my money back and when the guy that was waiting on me asked why I told him, he at first gave me a funny look so I said, «am I wrong» and he replied«no’ with a very embarrassed look on his face. So Pops is out for me from now on!

I really like the pizza, but the counter service can be inconsistent and today they were just indifferent.

I have been eating at Pop’s Pizza for over fifteen years, and it’s still as delicious today as it was back then. I have not found ‘old-fashioned’ pizza that is comparable anywhere else — totally delish!!! They also have amazing daily specials. I just recently discovered their ‘mac and cheese’ pizza which is not as heavy as it sounds, and is delicious when dipped in marinara for an extra zing. Pop’s also sells pizza kits for like $ 6.50 which includes the dough, sauce, and cheese for a medium sized pizza. I’ve made them at home twice now, and both have come out awesome. And the stuffed bread, specifically the buffalo chicken bread, is HUGE, and good enough to be a meal! My best friend brings one to every get together we have and it is always the first food to disappear. The only drawback of this place is that they are CASHONLY, so be prepared for that!

Has your usual selection of toppings for a pizza place. What makes Pop’s special is their old fashion pizza — Sicilian style with grated parm(it does not come with mozz unless you ask, and I prefer it with fresh garlic). Friendly staff and seating is available inside if you’re with the kids. The prices here are reasonable.

Pop’s pizza is great for a plain cheese or cheese and garlic pizza. The sauce is good. Great for pizza that is cheap and quick. Much better than the other pizza places in town although I would not recommend their calzones unless you ask for pizza sauce to accompany them. Remember CASH only and no delivery unfortunately.

Pretty good pizza. I got a large cheese and large pepperoni for $ 25 so it’s reasonably priced compared to some other pizza places in the area. One reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that I had to wait 45 minutes for a pick up order. It was Friday night so I know it’s busy, which is a good thing for a local place like this cause it tells me the locals like it, but I figure 30 minutes max when I’m picking pizza. Not a big deal and I’m sure they might have just had a slow night, so I’ll rerate when I go back soon

Been in cheshire three years and this is the first time I chose pops over mr B’s or Grand Apizza(moved) or rosinnni’s. Won’t do it again. It isn’t horrible for ten bucks but it certainly isn’t passable as four star pizza. Trust me, I am not comparing it to anything in Brooklyn, NYC or new haven. It just isn’t very good. Makes sense for a little league pizza party or eight year old sleep over. I wouldn’t serve this to my parents or in laws for that matter. Large pie for take out. Cheap. You get what you pay for.

This place is great! Quality food at an affordable price. Fast, friendly service, too. The pizza tastes great, and the grilled chicken salad is phenomenal. Plus, free WiFi, and some places to plug in and charge up my cell/laptop.

This is by far my favorite pizza place– better than Pepe’s, better than NYC slices and I’ve eaten a lot of pizza all over! Of course I grew up with it so maybe there is sentimental value too but just in terms of the actual pizza it’s my favorite. This is how a judge a pizza: 3 main ingredients: crust, sauce & cheese(don’t usually go for toppings) If one of those ingredients is off(not great sauce, too little cheese, bland crust, texture of cardboard etc) the pizza is usually just alright. 2⁄3 ingredients are off, you just messed that pizza up terribly. 3÷3… don’t think I need to go on. Pop’s is on it. 3⁄3 of the ingredients are delicious in texture, taste and proportions. Tasty crust just the right thickness, a sauce that isn’t overpowered with basil & oregano and just enough of it, with a healthy layer of cheesy goodness. The old-fashioned pizza is delicious too. I love their pizza sauce so much when I get the meatball grinder I special request the pizza sauce for it. AND the prices are ideal! The restaurant is small but I prefer the small town feel to it and I usually take it home when I’m there anyhow ;) Yeah, I love Pop’s.

The crust and cheese are awful although the sauce is tasty. Grinder rolls are gross and service is provided by unsmiling unhappy to be there teenagers.

Pops pizza is delicious! I love their white pizza options on Fridays and their prices are reasonable. They’re always jam packed during the lunch hour, so call ahead and place your order for pick up.

Best pizza in Cheshire! It’s not greasy or flimsy… it’s just right! It’s a small place and very whimsical. They are really quick on getting the order out to you. The prices are fair and the staff is always friendly. The owners have done a lot for the community as well. I absolutely love the pizza and the people. I’ve been eating here since I was a little girl.

Pops can be beat for value. There are few places that could make a big chicken parm dinner and bread for only 5 bucks. The same goes for most anything else of the menu. Pop’s is no glamorous or some fancy wood fired pizza endeavor, it is a very basic local institution that has employed hundreds of Cheshire kids and serves decent food at very reasonable prices. If you want the best pizza that you ever had, drive to Modern in New Haven, but if you are in Cheshire and want to get a decent pie, run by decent local folks, stop at Pops.

Pop’s is a Cheshire staple. It’s kind of a hole in the wall, but I guess you could say it has some character. We have been going here for years and the pizza is pretty good. They usually have a coupon or two in the weekly paper, but their slices and pies are all reasonably priced. there isn’t much seating in the actual place(especially when there are local sports teams celebrating) and they do not deliver. I would suggest Pop’s to anyone in the area, but it’s not the type of place that you would drive from far away to get the pizza or grinders(fyi they are a decent size and can usually be shared). FYI Pop’s is CASH only!!!

at lunch time it seems the parking isnt«ideal» but that aside, i had a few slices to go from pop’s today and they were decent slices and well priced. girls behind the counter were friendly and quick getting and heating the slices. gotta get back to pops and order a whole pie next time. the old fashioned(rectangular sicilian style with a nice fluffy light crust) was good — $ 1.40 for a slice it can’t be beat. the plain slice(round pie with an ok crust, sort of spongey but dense — not sure what kind of oven they have here — conveyor belt?) was also good, not a monstrous slice but enough pizza for a $ 1.50 slice. tomato sauce was straight forward simple and good — sort of pastey and sweet, the cheese was also good — the parmesan on the old fashioned and the mozz on the plain slice were well melted and the mozz was chewy, not too oily or runny — just right all around. Pop’s is worth stopping in if you are in cheshire — lots of pizzerias around here that i have to still try though! important to note — NOCREDITCARDSHERE!
